after I was done drinking my mountain dew, went for a refill I noticed black particles in my cup. Staff said she knew that machine wasn't working but still was functional for public use. No remorse for the public health, staff did not care about my concern at all.

Philly Cheesesteak yum... Freshly prepared beef and gooey cheese. A very hearty and comforting hot sandwich.

Been driving by this building many times on my way to visit customer and back and always felt like stopping by, since I love the philly cheesesteak at Jersey Mike's. Today was my lucky day of driving back at lunch time. Coming up the parallel Alameda street on the east side, there was an opening to turn into the corner plaza before the actual building, perfect. The building setup has lot of stores that are empty, but the parking lot was all full, except for 1 spot! Jersey Mike's ended up being the very corner unit in the plaza, so rest assured it's there if you don't see it upon initial entering into the lot. I guess most of the cars parked are for Jersey Mike's. Nice small unit but seemed to be working fine for lunch time. Was 2nd in line and proceeded to order the philly cheesesteak regular size to go. A friendly gal took the order and got one of the guys to start making it since they grill the beef fresh when ordered. By the time I moved down the line to pay the cashier, my name was called and handed off by a friendly guy who made it I guess. Nice efficiency, and all the employees seemed nice and the store clean. I'll be looking to drop by again the next time I am passing by during lunch time. I remember their cold italian sandwich was also great done the "mike's way". Keep it up and thanks for the location on one of my routes:)

Was craving a Jersey Mike sandwich at work today, so I yelped the closes one to me. The one on 8th and hope was the closest, but chose this one because it has a fairly large parking lot to park in. Have you ever tried looking for parking around 8th and Hope, around lunch time, could be a challenge. Nice little shopping center, in an area dominated by industrial businesses. Has a nice public quad area with plenty of tables and chairs to have your lunch. With Jersey Mike's, everything was ok, with the exception of a couple of small issues. The sandwich maker & cashier were great, working their butts off, but the guy on the grill needs to learn how to multi task. Ordered the Philly cheese steak and he didnt get the meat on the grill until after he finished making the sandwich from the previous order, clean the grill, restock all of his ingredients containers. Then after all that, he then places the beef for my sandwich on the grill. If he would of had the meat on the grill cooking, I wouldn't of have had to wait so long for my sandwich. Line was getting long and he didn't show any urgency, maybe he was lacking in cooking experience. The other issue that I had was the size of the sandwich, a little on the small size, was still hungry after eating it. Quality of the sandwich was good, tasted great, just wish it was a little bigger. Need a bigger bang for your buck.

They still welcomed us, not like other places that are visibly upset. I had to use the restroom and it was super clean, kinda TMI but I loved that they even had tampons, pads and baby wipes in there. I thought that was super sweet and thoughtful and most places don't offer. They even worked it out so we could still have breakfast even though it was super late. We had the spinach and egg sandwich and strawberry banana with peanut butter. The bread is a perfect combination of crunchy/toasted but also soft and flavorful. Everything is super fresh, from the greens, no wilting and the fruit. You can tell everything is of the highest quality. The cheese was melty and stringy! They also made a lavender latte with just a splash of coffee since it was for my daughter. The homemade syrup was so delicious! Next time I'll make sure to come earlier so we could enjoy the cute patio area and I can try the coffee, which I'm sure is amazing!! Grateful to find high quality, cafes with healthy options and wonderful service like Cruzitas!

It came with a perfectly toasted garlic roll that complemented the meal so well. My friend ordered the Heights Sandwich and absolutely loved it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. I would definitely recommend ordering ahead for pickup. There's also a parking lot behind the deli, which makes picking up your order quick and convenient. I'll definitely be back!

So it's quite the coup that I finally made it on over to the Heights DABS! A slice of that 18 inch pie is on the brain today as I skip up the mini-staircase into the joint. Having just come from another not-to-be-named Pizza spot in the DTLA to NELA corridor, my hangdog face belies my energetic hoppin-pep-in-the-step into Heights, shaking off a droopy and disappointingly dry slice amidst the brain-bleeding profanity laced hate-punk screaming over that joint's speakers as I sized up the Margherita I always use as an avatar to benchmark how we dooooin' in the pizza quality and taste department no matter where I go. I confess I've been captured and SPOILED by love affairs with Greek Pizza in Boston, Deep Dish in Chicago, NYC greezy gooey goodness at 3am, and of course the ultimate seduction of sublime simplicity of the Neapolitan Pizzas of Napoli. Yes, I am a sucker for the traditional brick oven Margheritas and Bufalinas of Italia, just that simple barometer of OG greatness, minimalistic bliss. Less than 5 bucks and 10 min later, I'm ambling down said teeny stairs with a large warm white cardboard box that seems far too large for a mere SLICE. Have they made a packaging error? I was expecting a small thin wilty Dixie plate! These days, we don't wanna waste cardboard, do we? Driving off, I contemplate a spot to pull over along the Arroyo Seco to enjoy my dining behind the wheel. I just can't hold in my wondering, patience is definitely NOT a virtue when curiosity is just killing this Jazz Cat. A quick stop at a red light later, I can't hold it in any longer. FLIP. UP. THAT. LID! Daaaaaaammmnnnn! That is one MONSTROUS slice, as I slyly smile in astonishment! But my sly smile slowly segues to sadness, then semi-panicked confusion, disorientation, even! For THIS is not the Margherita one familiarly recognizes as the artistic minimalistic masterpiece a proper Neapolitan Margherita MUST BE! I am starting to get anxious, angsty, and now a bit ANGRY! what a fool I was! Instead I am misled into chow down mode to consume a Godzilla-sized molten mess of mossy dry basil haphazardly strewn about to and fro across the pie, resembling katsuo bonito flakes dancing around in the disarray of their differential dehydration! Inexplicably, jagged rows of somewhat square Roma tomatoes are lined up in lazy formations like a disorganized military company. What's more, the gooey globs of mozzarella are NOT expertly anchored down to the bed of cheese below, supposed to cling to the pie while providing just enough protruding relief like an old globe map with a mountain range rising above the horizon. Nope, they are instead here and there and almost everywhere, seemingly untethered to the matrix of cheese below, chaotically floating around like slightly rectangular glops of pale possible goodness?!!? JT, hold it together, you must attack this mess while it's still hot. Beep Beep! THE LIGHT HAS TURNED GREEN MANY SECONDS AGO! Get thee to the Arroyo! Minutes later, I'm at my perch. I bite into the unruly beast. I am pleasantly greeted by a most satisfying CRUNCH! Then a chewy tug-tremendous! Then the mass of basil flakiness flying through my mouth and down the hatch, chased by those deeeelish misshapen untethered white cubes o' cheesiness charging down my throat aside tons of tumbling tomatoes! It's an absolute avalanche of WOW! It's like there's a party in my mouth, and the most unlikely heroes showed up and showed out! Let's add the Unconventional Neapolitanical Pizzas of Lincoln Heights to the Lovefest List! Heights DABS, you've made my day. On to meet up with long lost friends converging in HP from nearby points dearly loved, I'm feelin' GRRRREEEEAT! DONE.

We went around 11am and there wasn't a line yet, but by 11:30am it started to get busier and there was a small line. The staffing, service and efficiency were on point. Our server, Kevin, was nice and took good care of us. I ordered the lox, egg & onion scramble with a side of potatoes. It seems like most people come here for lunch and, obviously, for the meat. My meal was fairly bland. I did get a side of the house green salsa and that helped. It was definitely not up to the same level as the pastrami though. I personally wouldn't come back myself, but I would go if someone I was with really wanted to come. Overall, this seems like a great place. They have their own parking lot across the street, they have their operation down to a T, and they really nail the things people come there for. I appreciate that they have alternative options, but I would try something different next time. Maybe their other scrambles or their French toast would be better.
