Pork roll is a Nashville-area rarity, so I couldn't wait to take a bite into this sandwich. Drove a half hour out of my way last weekend to try out these bagels, and I'm NOT disappointed at all. Well worth the drive! They're wonderful! Half the price of proper bagel (and none of the lines/traffic/parking hassle), and they're good, thick, chewy, REAL bagels. I've been trying to find a good bagel option in Nashville since leaving NYC, and these are it. They also weren't out of all the good flavors, even though we showed up around 1pm on a Saturday. I'm from New Jersey and the Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese sandwiches here are pretty solid. It's very difficult to get bagels like NY and NJ here due to the difference in water. However, these bagels are pretty good. read more

Obsessed with the bagels from Jersey Oven. They give an excessive amount of cream cheese, which I LOVE. My husband and I haven't had a single bad thing from here. My all time fave would have to be the French toast bagel with cinnamon sugar schmear. My husband adores their apple butter. read more

Really great place! And they have egg bagels!!! We haven't had egg bagels in forever since moving here from the north. It's a small mom & pop restaurant but they have amazing bagels. This review has been sitting in my drafts for an embarrassingly long time because I keep mistakenly giving this establishment chance after chance but at the end of the day they don't care about their customers so here goes. Bagels are decent but they come with a side of gaslighting and defiance. Every time I ask for my bagel to be cut in half or toasted, I'm either gaslit and told it "doesn't need" to be toasted because they're "fresh" (newsflash: I don't care), and/or my request of it being cut is blatantly ignored repeatedly. Does it cost extra to run a bagel through a damn toaster for 10 seconds to warm it up? No? Does it take more than 2 seconds to cut the bagel in half? No? So why are my requests for my order constantly ignored? I don't think I'm asking for too much. I'm from NJ and this place sure isn't very "Jersey like". No bagel shop in my 27 years of being a NJ resident has ever been as defiant and difficult as these folks. I'm a PAYING customer and should be treated as such. If you want to tell me how my bagel should be prepared then I shouldn't be the one paying! Not to mention, their bagels aren't good enough for them to be dictating my requests. When most of the seeds of the everything bagel fall off before I take a bite, you don't get the privilege of telling me how it's going to be. That's not how this works. I've given this business a ton of money the past two years I've been a TN resident and they don't care. Their name should be changed to "dictatorship bagels" since every time I come here I know I'm going to be under a dictatorship for breakfast. read more

A local radio personality bragged about this place on air. I had not idea if this jock knew what a great bagel was, but I went up there today, a 33 mile drive from home. Today is National Bagel and Lox day. It happens to be the day my sister passed away and we share a huge NJ heritage. The bagels are very good, but not what I would call great. I shall explain. They have a marvelous crust and the crumb is nice and dense. They also have some flavors I have not seen in a long time, like pumpernickel/rye. The only drawback I found in the bagels was the size. I expected them to be a bit bigger. Everyone in the room both customers and workers had a sweet Jersey accent. The biggest ding I gave them is that they have zero lox in the place. Really? hrmph. Now comes the critique in jest. They have t-shirts for sale that have the face of a mean pig and the words, "It's pork roll, you dummy" So why am I offended in good humor. That is because within Jersey, there is a raging debate as to whether it should be called "pork roll", or Taylor Ham. From way up north, near Paramus, we called it Taylor Ham. Way down in the south part of Jersey, near the Pine Barrens, they call it pork roll. The original product was marketed as Taylor's Ham. Legal action stopped them from that name because it was not ham, it was a pork blend. So, the name pork roll was born. The debate continues as much as which side won the War Between the States. I can't say enough great things about this little gem. We stopped in to grab some breakfast and the owner immediately greeted us and genuinely wanted us know about his shop and the bagels and that everything was made fresh and homemade right in the store every morning. This place is pretty good. I got the everything bagel toasted with jalapeño cheese cheese and the second time around I got the scallion cream cheese. They give you a generous portion of cream cheese. The only thing is I always have to ask for extra toasted. When they lightly toast it you don't get a crunch at all. The line moves pretty quickly and everyone is helpful. read more

My friend took me here and I was expecting nothing. I'm from the North and have been to NYC where the bagels are top notch. I'm really glad this place exists! Their bagels are true to the northeast with the way they taste, look and their schmears. They had an array of bagel flavors and cream cheese. What really stuck out to me was the "Taylor ham" they put on their breakfast sandwiches - true New Jersey. I ordered an egg bagel with scallion schmear and also an egg cheese and Taylor ham sandwich on an everything bagel. Both were very good, tasty and super filling! My friend got the everything with vegetable schmear and he said he loved it. He also got a blueberry bagel and the pineapple coconut schmear which he also enjoyed. This is another gem I found via yelp. This former Brooklyn girl was thrilled to find this spot in Mt Juliet . The first time there I actually thought I was in New Jersey Bagel shop as my closet cousin left Bay Ridge for NJ. The 30 minute drive to Jersey oven is worth it for my husband and I; for the coffee, service and of course true NY style Bagels. We also grab a dozen to take back home and freeze. read more

This place was nothing special. I found it odd that even though they were making the bagels fresh the place did not smell like it. We tried 2 different bagels... both were quite hard. I was surprised that they did not offer to toast the bagels or offer anything in the bagel like slices of tomato, cucumber, or onion. I was at a dollar tree and was curious about what kind of food they had. From the moment I walked in, the owner and employees were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and very attentive. They walked me through what I could get with my bagel, simpleBagel Sandwiches, quick and efficient. Since then, I get a bagel at least once a week, usually twice. Their everything bagel with runny eggs and cheese, are heavenly. They are great price wise as well. Two eggs and cheese, everything bagels is like 9.50. They have little cheesecake puffs that are so good that the blueberry ones are heavenly. On top of all of this, in the midst of the price increases everywhere, they have remained low price wise. Being from up north we thought a place named Jersey Oven would have good breakfast sandwiches. Asked for a raisin bagel twice for my sandwich and was given a completely different kind. My brother asked for the same bagel and was given a different kind. Didn't think it would be too difficult, we were the only ones in the place. Way over priced for a breakfast sandwich. $19 is ridiculous. Definitely wouldn't recommend. read more
