They have NAILED the New Jersey bagel!! The "chew" is right and the flavor is great. The selection is everything we had in NJ. (Our daughter loves the salt bagels). We both had Pork Roll sandwiches and while a different brand than we're used to (Taylor), we actually liked this Trenton brand better because it wasn't as salty. If you've never been to NJ and eaten a bagel from there, I highly recommend getting a Pork Roll, Egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. I love mine on an Everything Bagel. Coffee is delicious. Only downside is styrofoam coffee cups. Maybe they could switch to paper. One request - please open a 2nd store in Cookeville TN. The Tennessee Tech students would literally eat you up.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]First off, the place is a fun, no-frills bakery. The illustrations are entertaining![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a ham, egg & cheese on an onion bagel, my husband ordered the sausage, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. These sandwiches are HUGE, so either share or come hungry! These sandwiches coffee is no frills as well, so don't expect anything fancy. We will come back because the sandwiches were awesome, definitely want to try the pork rolls next.

I just had the breakfast sausage, onion, and cheese bagel and I'm convinced this place has cracked some sort of ancient Northeast code the rest of the country doesn't have. The bagel itself? Perfect chew, crisp outside, soft inside -- exactly how a bagel is supposed to be. Not bread pretending to be a bagel. The real deal. The sausage was hot, savory, and actually seasoned (rare these days). The onions were cooked just right -- not soggy, not raw -- and the cheese melted into everything like it knew where it belonged. Every bite hit. No weak spots. No filler. No shortcuts. You can tell immediately this place gives a damn. From the dough to the cook to the final handoff -- it's done with pride. This is the kind of spot you accidentally ruin other breakfast places by going to first. If you're anywhere near Jersey Oven Bagels and don't stop here, that's on you. I'll be back -- probably way too often.

For someone who was born and raised in Jersey, this place is the real deal! When moving to Nashville, I was pessimistic about finding a true NJ bagel shop, but I was wrong about not being able to find one! When you walk in, there are so many Jersey signs that make me feel right at home. The service is quick, and while you may have to wait a bit for the sandwiches, it's well worth it! I ordered the pork roll and cheese on a sesame bagel. The bagel has the exact consistency of a true NJ bagel, and the pork roll was so tasty. If you don't know what pork roll is, it's a type of ham that everyone in Jersey eats with their bagels! Try it. You'll like it. They also put a ton of cheese on the bagel, which oozes out of your bagel. It's amazing. My boyfriend got the sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel and he loved it as well. Again, they aren't shy with the amount of cheese, which is what's a good thing. We will, of course, be back for more delicious Jersey bagels!

I grabbed lunch at Jersey Oven in Mount Juliet, TN. I was very hungry and looking for some great bagels. I ordered the pastrami and swiss sandwich. This bagel shop makes fresh bagels and has a grill to cook up hot food for bagel sandwiches. Service is simple, you walk in and order at the counter. I waited a few minutes after ordering and my food was ready. My pastrami sandwich was large with plenty of meat and cheese on a garlic bagel. The pastrami had a good salty slightly smoky flavor to it and it was juicy. There was lots of cheese to balance out the meat. Some veggies on the sandwich would have been nice, but the sandwich hit the spot and resolved my hunger. I was expecting the texture of a new york bagel, however it was lacking that dense chewiness. Other than that, I enjoyed my food and ordered an everything bagel to-go to make a breakfast sandwich at home later. There is also a deli case with processed meats to purchase on the side. Jersey Oven is a go.

This isn't about the bagels; they're great. However, I'm questioning whether the bagel is worth the service. My young daughter and I's order was taken by an old woman. She was far from friendly. She was impatient, rude, and mean to my sweet daughter who was trying to order a half-dozen of bagels. We remained polite, but she had us biting our tongues. I hope Jersey Oven takes this review into considstation, and is more careful when selecting employees. read more

Made a quick stop at this bagel shop to buy three bagels for my wife to compare to the bagels she used to get in New Jersey. "You can't get a good bagel in this town" has been her cry since moving to Nashville in 2014. The initial taste test met her high standards. BUT...she's a scientist by profession, so one test isn't enough. We'll be going back, together this time, for another tasting. What I really want to talk about in this review is the service and attitude I encountered when I walked in. While surveying the bagels on offer, I was greeted by the owner with "Is this your first time in here?", followed by an exceptional customer service experience that guaranteed I would be back. Oh, and I live in Spring Hill, which is almost an hour's drive away. So happy to have found this establishment and looking forward to my return trip (and many more...!). read more

Awesome bagels!!!! I'm from Jersey and moved out to Tennessee years ago. Can't find pizza or bagels. I owned a bagel shop in NJ and was in the business for 19 years so I'm picky about my bagels. Best bagels and cream cheese in TN. We are from Boston and these bagels take my taste buds back home. Owner and staff are awesome. The portions are huge. I think they put at least a half pound of pastrami on the bagel. The lady who works the counter told us the best way to freeze the bagels. Now every time I go I buy a dozen and keep them frozen. This is now the only place I buy bagels. read more

I cannot tell you how much I have missed New Jersey, not the taxes of course, but the people, seasons, and food. Thank goodness for this new addition to Middle Tennessee. The pork roll/Taylor ham breakfast sandwiches are wonderful. I loved the Bagels and schmear. But the Jersey pizza is AMAZING! Just like home! Thank you for opening your kitchen to us. We have never had a pork roll before, and I absolutely loved it. Also, I am ashamed to say we ordered 1/2 dozen everything bagels, with salmon cream cheese and veggie cream cheese, and ate them all that day. Went to Jersey Oven this morning for the first time and the food and service beyond exceeded my expectations. I was so excited to find a true authentic freshly made in house bagel from New Jersey, the best! The pork roll, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel was incredible. The owners were so welcoming and let us try the homemade fresh Italian bread (amazing!) and the blueberry pastry just from the oven (also amazing!). Tony is the guy who makes the delicious donuts. He's always friendly, and his team always has a smile waiting for customers. Although they don't have any of the specialty donuts that some stores offer, they have all of the traditional donuts you come to expect -- old fashioned, glazed, sprinkles, cake, twists, and coffee rolls. They also have kolaches (spicy and regular). I always grab my donuts to go, but there are chairs and tables to enjoy your donuts in the store. The dining area is basic and somewhat sterile, but it gets the job done. Gourmet Donuts also sells a variety of cold drinks and hot coffee if you're thirsty or need a drink to go. They sometimes sell out of donuts, but you can call Tony and he'll set aside the donuts you want. There's also a drive thru window if you don't want to come inside.

Not "good for Nashville." Not "pretty close." Just really freaking good bagels. No apologies needed. The place looks the way a bagel shop is supposed to look. Concrete floors. Friendly chaos. People working hard behind the counter. And the people? That's the real thing. Mr. Aaron, his wife, and the whole crew are amazing. They know your name. They bust your chops. You bust theirs. That is community. That is customer service with a pulse. They even have a Mets fan, which proves their commitment to authenticity and long-term emotional damage. The food was fresh, tasted great, and was exactly what I expected once it arrived. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait for my order was much longer than I anticipated. I wasn't in a huge rush, but it did take quite a while before my food was ready. Other than the wait, everything else was enjoyable. The quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere made up for the delay, and I'd still come back again hoping for a quicker experience next time.

The bagels are freshly made here and so are the waffles! What I like here too is that they have sugar free syrup options other than just vanilla! They have a great origin story here that is mentioned as art on the wall and support local artists by displaying and selling their artwork. The staff is very pleasant, always greeting you as you walk in the door and answering questions. They have cute merchandise like shirts, sweaters and stickers. The inside has plenty of seating too with free WiFi and places to plug in if you want to hangout and work. We've met the owner a few times and she's always been nice and talkative with us. The best bagels hands down. I am originally from NY so to find a place with real bagels was the best. It's a bit of a trip from Portland, TN to Mount Juliet but I will gladly make the trip. When you walk in you truly feel like you have been transported into a NY deli. Always great NY music playing. The food is awesome and they don't skimp on the meat. If you want great bagels that are loaded with great meat then go to Jersey oven. read more

As a Bostonian now living in the south, Jersey Oven is truly the closest thing to a New England style bagel I've found! Not only are their bagels delicious , but they're freshly made every day! The Atmosphere reminds me of home and the owner always goes above and beyond for his customers even if it means serving food before opening and after closing. Highly recommend to everyone! read more

Found this place about a year ago and it's the only place we have on repeat for a breakfast sammie. Always good, always fresh. The only shame is that the pork roll sandwich is so good that I never seem to try anything else! But it's not a bad problem to have when you love their sandwich that much. read more

Don't walk, run! To jersey Oven. The BEST (and maybe only) pork roll in MJ. They'll stay open sometimes past their posted hours as long as they have customers and bagels. But they do run out as these bagels are made fresh! read more
