I was really looking forward to trying Jerusalem Café in Mission for the first time since I've already tried most of the great Middle Eastern restaurants around KC. But honestly, I was a bit disappointed because I didn't feel the food was worth the price for the portion size. I ordered the combo kebab platter with beef kofta and lamb skewers, which came with two sides and that's basically all that's on the plate with one 4 small cuts of pita bread and some rice. It was priced at $21 plus tax. The food tasted good, but the meat portions were very small. The kofta had a nice smoky flavor but was really thin and kinda short, and there was only one lamb skewer stick with 4-5 mid sized pieces which were seasoned well but felt a little chewy. For that price, I expected more meat in my plate! Other places like Meddys, Hummus & Pita Co or Yafa Café serve larger portions for a similar or even lower price and honestly, their food tastes even better in my opinion. Overall, I'd give the food 3.5 to 4/5 for taste, and the overall experience also 3/5, mainly because of the portion size and pricing. Otherwise the restaurant itself was clean with good decor and had some pretty wall art. The staff were really sweet and happy to serve us with a wait time of around 8-10 mins. I wish them all the best and if you haven't tried other Middle Eastern spots around KC, you will still like it here.

I've been here twice and have had positive experiences. The first time I ordered online and it was ready to go when I arrived. The most recent visit, I stopped in and ordered but still took it to go. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and service has been super fast. They do have a large space and even a really nice patio. I love the beef/lamb gyro. That's my go to. It's always super tender and the flavors are just amazing. Produce on the sandwich is fresh. And it's honestly one of my favorite spots to get a gyro from. Sides-I like the lentil soup and the rice. Both have really good flavor. The soup is awesome in the winter and the rice is a tasty staple. I'm so happy to have another Jerusalem cafe closer to my home. Highly recommend!

This new location is very clean inside and has a great patio if you are looking for covered and good food. We got the a gyro sandwich and platter. The gyro meat was perfect and so was the Tzatziki sauce. I found it interesting the standard is putting sliced cheese on the gyro meat for the platter but I asked for just feta and I was happy with that decision. We will for sure be coming back, but keep in mind pricing is on the higher side but you will be very full after.

I enjoyed the first-rate service, the nice atmosphere, the generous portions and the delicious middle eastern food during my soft opening dine-in lunch visit to this family-owned restaurant. The original gyro with choice of two sides (reasonably priced at $12.93) was ready just six minutes after I ordered at the counter, where the service was welcoming, polite, hospitable and helpful with a genuine interest in feedback - nice! The platter included a gyro on a fresh, warm, 6" pita with plenty of delicious, moist chicken, along with flavorful saffron rice and a Greek salad with a tasty, light dressing. The dining area was clean, nice and freshly remodeled with middle eastern background music. I also noticed a patio. Excellent!

We had dinner here tonight and it was excellent! The restaurant is immaculate, the service was good, the portions were generous and the food was very fresh and flavorful. They also have a gluten free menu which I ordered from. It's a quiet casual restaurant with quite a bit of seating. We will definitely go back!

I haven't been to Jerusalem Cafe in at least a decade, when they were in their old-old location in Westport. When we last went it was run down and not very clean. The new version is such a vast improvement! Spotless, insanely friendly service, and stylish decor. And the food!? Incredible! Not a weak one in the bunch. My manakeesh was great. I got the sumac chicken with halloumi. Really interesting. Falafel must have been some of the best I've ever had. We are looking forward to going back!

Gotta try the lemonades and Philly gyros. Perfect spot for lunch or dinner...maybe even both. Fresh selections. Open seating and spacious patio. Friendly service.

I finally had the opportunity to check out the Jerusalem Cafe in Mission and can I say, still wanting more hummus. It's cute and love that it's quick to order and fast to start eating anything covered in tzatziki and feta. Also tried their baklava sampler and yum! Love a med place and that this is in mission in all the mix. Will be back.

This spot has seen many restaurants come and go but this seems like the perfect fit! So happy to have a Jerusalem Cafe in Mission now. The inside is spacious if you'd like to sit and eat and it was easy to order ours to-go. The chicken shawarma was a big portion and service was fast and friendly. If you have menu questions they are happy to answer. Excited to make it a regular stop.

It's been a while since I visited Jerusalem Cafe's old Westport location, and their new one in OP is much more modern and organized, but our food was hit or miss. We stopped by Jerusalem Cafe for an early dinner and ordered the combo kebob and Jerusalem combo mezza, as well as kunafa dessert. Our combo kebob came with our choice of two kebobs (we got lamb and shrimp) and two appetizers (we got soup and salad). The shrimp kebob was good, but the lamb was flavorless and VERY chewy. Our salad was a lot of sad and soggy lettuce, and the soup had no flavor. The Jerusalem combo came with falafel, hummus and baba ganoush, which were all pretty good, as well as grape leaves, which again lacked flavor. Our kunafa dessert was perfectly sweet and cheesy, I highly recommend ordering this if you are getting a treat there! Service was very quick and it was not crowded at all, very casual vibes and the prices are very reasonable. I would like to stop back and try some different dishes, but my recommendation for now would be to stay away from the kebobs, salad, or soup and order the hummus, falafel, and kunafa.

The food was not only flavorful but also reasonably priced, with a menu full of appetizers, salads, soups, wraps, sandwiches, and desserts. The Pistachio Baklava dessert was a delightful conclusion, enjoyed immediately rather than being saved for later with coffee as originally planned. Basha Bash: I really wanted to love this spot. Based on the…read morestellar reviews, I was excited for a hidden Greek gem in the heart of OP, but unfortunately, our experience was far from an "Opa!" moment. The Service I arrived first and the place was nearly empty, yet the energy felt frantic. The server/ hostess was very rushed and business-like but seemed overwhelmed, running around like a chicken with her head cut off. After declining a black tea multiple times (once they realized they were out of chai), We had to practically stop her in mid-step for every follow-up once the rest of my party arrived. She never stopped on her own to ask us if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our meal. The Food The meal was a series of "weird" choices: The Hummus Situation: Our entrees were supposed to come with hummus, Rice and a side salad. Instead of serving The hummus with the entree, it was plopped onto the side salad plate before the entree arrived. I've eaten a lot of Mediterranean food, and I've never seen it served that way. The Garlic Sauce: This was a huge letdown. It looked and tasted like straight mayonnaise with a hint of garlic powder--not the authentic, pungent toum or A fresh bright white garlic sauce you'd expect. The tzatziki sauce might have been the best thing on the plate as it tasted fresh and authentic. The Meat: This was a Jekyll and Hyde as some of the meat was tender but some was overcooked and it was like that for everybody's meal whether they got beef, lamb or chicken. The Rice: Every entree was served over saffron rice that was dry, almost like it had been sitting out sunbathing for the day. The Falafel: Good crunch, but the inside was on the dry side. The Vibe As someone with a background in the industry, one thing really stood out: while our server was struggling to keep up with the only two tables in the restaurant, a cook with an apron was sitting in the lobby looking bored and disinterested. It's never a good look for staff to be lounging in front of customers regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Final Verdict Maybe it was just an off night, but for the price point, it doesn't compete. When you compare the quality and value to places like Meddys, Darna, or Mr. Gyros, this was extremely subpar. Sadly, I won't be rushing back.
