I was really looking forward to trying Jerusalem Café in Mission for the first time since I've already tried most of the great Middle Eastern restaurants around KC. But honestly, I was a bit disappointed because I didn't feel the food was worth the price for the portion size. I ordered the combo kebab platter with beef kofta and lamb skewers, which came with two sides and that's basically all that's on the plate with one 4 small cuts of pita bread and some rice. It was priced at $21 plus tax. The food tasted good, but the meat portions were very small. The kofta had a nice smoky flavor but was really thin and kinda short, and there was only one lamb skewer stick with 4-5 mid sized pieces which were seasoned well but felt a little chewy. For that price, I expected more meat in my plate! Other places like Meddys, Hummus & Pita Co or Yafa Café serve larger portions for a similar or even lower price and honestly, their food tastes even better in my opinion. Overall, I'd give the food 3.5 to 4/5 for taste, and the overall experience also 3/5, mainly because of the portion size and pricing. Otherwise the restaurant itself was clean with good decor and had some pretty wall art. The staff were really sweet and happy to serve us with a wait time of around 8-10 mins. I wish them all the best and if you haven't tried other Middle Eastern spots around KC, you will still like it here.

I stopped in here for a late dinner since I had seen it multiple times while driving past but had never stopped in. Not sure how long they have been in this location since it is a bit hard to find, the inside looks like it is fairly new but reviews are at least a year old. I ordered a Gyro and Lentil soup. Food can out fast, the Gyro was good and had good amount of meat. I felt like the soup was an afterthought because it was more of a dipping size container but flavors were good.

I've been here twice and have had positive experiences. The first time I ordered online and it was ready to go when I arrived. The most recent visit, I stopped in and ordered but still took it to go. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and service has been super fast. They do have a large space and even a really nice patio. I love the beef/lamb gyro. That's my go to. It's always super tender and the flavors are just amazing. Produce on the sandwich is fresh. And it's honestly one of my favorite spots to get a gyro from. Sides-I like the lentil soup and the rice. Both have really good flavor. The soup is awesome in the winter and the rice is a tasty staple. I'm so happy to have another Jerusalem cafe closer to my home. Highly recommend!

This new location is very clean inside and has a great patio if you are looking for covered and good food. We got the a gyro sandwich and platter. The gyro meat was perfect and so was the Tzatziki sauce. I found it interesting the standard is putting sliced cheese on the gyro meat for the platter but I asked for just feta and I was happy with that decision. We will for sure be coming back, but keep in mind pricing is on the higher side but you will be very full after.

I enjoyed the first-rate service, the nice atmosphere, the generous portions and the delicious middle eastern food during my soft opening dine-in lunch visit to this family-owned restaurant. The original gyro with choice of two sides (reasonably priced at $12.93) was ready just six minutes after I ordered at the counter, where the service was welcoming, polite, hospitable and helpful with a genuine interest in feedback - nice! The platter included a gyro on a fresh, warm, 6" pita with plenty of delicious, moist chicken, along with flavorful saffron rice and a Greek salad with a tasty, light dressing. The dining area was clean, nice and freshly remodeled with middle eastern background music. I also noticed a patio. Excellent!

We had dinner here tonight and it was excellent! The restaurant is immaculate, the service was good, the portions were generous and the food was very fresh and flavorful. They also have a gluten free menu which I ordered from. It's a quiet casual restaurant with quite a bit of seating. We will definitely go back!

I haven't been to Jerusalem Cafe in at least a decade, when they were in their old-old location in Westport. When we last went it was run down and not very clean. The new version is such a vast improvement! Spotless, insanely friendly service, and stylish decor. And the food!? Incredible! Not a weak one in the bunch. My manakeesh was great. I got the sumac chicken with halloumi. Really interesting. Falafel must have been some of the best I've ever had. We are looking forward to going back!

Gotta try the lemonades and Philly gyros. Perfect spot for lunch or dinner...maybe even both. Fresh selections. Open seating and spacious patio. Friendly service.

I finally had the opportunity to check out the Jerusalem Cafe in Mission and can I say, still wanting more hummus. It's cute and love that it's quick to order and fast to start eating anything covered in tzatziki and feta. Also tried their baklava sampler and yum! Love a med place and that this is in mission in all the mix. Will be back.

This spot has seen many restaurants come and go but this seems like the perfect fit! So happy to have a Jerusalem Cafe in Mission now. The inside is spacious if you'd like to sit and eat and it was easy to order ours to-go. The chicken shawarma was a big portion and service was fast and friendly. If you have menu questions they are happy to answer. Excited to make it a regular stop.

It's been a while since I visited Jerusalem Cafe's old Westport location, and their new one in OP is much more modern and organized, but our food was hit or miss. We stopped by Jerusalem Cafe for an early dinner and ordered the combo kebob and Jerusalem combo mezza, as well as kunafa dessert. Our combo kebob came with our choice of two kebobs (we got lamb and shrimp) and two appetizers (we got soup and salad). The shrimp kebob was good, but the lamb was flavorless and VERY chewy. Our salad was a lot of sad and soggy lettuce, and the soup had no flavor. The Jerusalem combo came with falafel, hummus and baba ganoush, which were all pretty good, as well as grape leaves, which again lacked flavor. Our kunafa dessert was perfectly sweet and cheesy, I highly recommend ordering this if you are getting a treat there! Service was very quick and it was not crowded at all, very casual vibes and the prices are very reasonable. I would like to stop back and try some different dishes, but my recommendation for now would be to stay away from the kebobs, salad, or soup and order the hummus, falafel, and kunafa.

Twilight zone ah restaurant…read more The summer evening's gentle humidity greeted me as I woke up from a strange dream. I recall a long room. Tables set. A menu hanging by a thread, the crease counting on one hand how many openings it has left. What is that desolate counter doing there? And those Wayfair basket shelves? Sure, I'll get the Greek Platter. A tasty entree no doubt but an unholy matrimony: the saddest pita bread you'll meet. At no fault to Kinzi, cyclospora weighed heavy on me this meal. Just thought you should know. Soon I'm in the hallway. Washing your hands is righteous, right? Where am I? Laboratory light seems to come from nowhere. Dove white dry paint on the floor and the door. And the handle. Get me out of here. As I descend the steps of purgatory, a siren calls: "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" Motion detectors. But where? And what are we protecting? The patrons from themselves? I'm back, but not for long. This entire time I endured the music. The flat screen does no justice to these poor bare bellied women, forced to dance for eternity, only punctuated by YouTube ads. Then, suddenly, there's an incessant beeping. For a few minutes it won't go away. Then, "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" followed by the cutely sinister chimes. Oh, it's the ice box. He rips something out of the bottom and the beeps dissipate. The kind man approaches. "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" What? Oh! The plates, yes, and the check, yes. "Save Ferris," his shirt reads. Is that who we're guarding? As he walks back, "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" *jingle lingle ling* Time to go. The motion detector once again clocks me as I exit. Everyone should dare to dream. For now, I must wake up.

The restaurant appeared to be severely understaffed, our server was also cooking, and it seemed like only one person was running the entire place. Because of that, service and cleanliness suffered a bit, and the tables and menus felt slightly sticky. I'd probably recommend takeout over dining in, but I also got the sense that this was more of a staffing issue than a lack of effort.

You feel welcomed the second you walk in, and somehow that warmth makes its way into the food too. I've tried just about every Mediterranean spot in Kansas City, and this one stands out every single time. It tastes the most authentic and the least commercial by far. Everything feels fresh, intentional, and made with care. Nothing tastes rushed or mass produced. There's real love in the food here, and you can taste it. Their dolmas especially take me right back to my grandmother's kitchen. That kind of food memory is hard to put into words, but if you know, you know. Comforting, fresh, flavorful, and made in a way that feels deeply rooted and genuine. With the World Cup approaching and so many people coming through Kansas City, visitors need to know about places like this. These are the local spots worth seeking out. The kind you leave talking about afterward and craving again the next day. And if they have the mint lemonade, order it. The rose lemonade is always incredible too. Not your typical round shape but more of a tube/long shape which really works great for dipping them in tzatziki. We also had grape leaves which come warm. Yummy! We had a chicken shawarma and gyro entree. Both came with rice, salad, pita, and hummus. All very good. My one criticism is I prefer my protein sliced more thinly instead of a thick cut. It's a texture issue for me. The thicker, the chewier. The chicken also had a bit of chewy skin. It could have had more flavor. Still good but this is what made my review 4 instead of 5 stars. I thought the gyro had a little more flavor than the chicken. You order at the counter and then they walk your food out to you when it's gone. Our two appetizers came out very quickly. Our entrees just a few minutes later. Service was smooth and very good. The guys working there were all friendly. Great service! The restaurant is very clean, plenty of seating, and lots of appropriate artwork. It was cold in there but it was really hot outside that day so they had the air turned up. It did make my dining in experience a bit tough since I couldn't escape sitting under an air vent but I don't really want yo criticize them much for running the air in a hot day. That's better than the alternative. On the way out I got a small variety pack of baklava and a rice pudding. Both really good! I'm still eating the baklava. I really like being able to get the variety! It's hard to choose. We would definitely go back again. On the way out, we saw 2 gentleman with gyro salads. Wow, it's a huge bowl with gyro piled high! Looked fantastic and I want to try the gyro salad now!
