First timer' I will be going again! Beautiful presentation! Great service! The food was seasoned very well, the pickled veggies were my fav! and the 1.99 kids meals are always a good idea!

I was running errands in the area and was delighted to see that Meddys was nearby. I ordered online without issue and headed that way. My order was ready before the promised time and everyone I encountered was friendly. The restaurant looked like it had a nice patio. I ordered the succulent chicken: Sliced chicken breast, crispy lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and creamy garlic sauce all wrapped in pita. I opted for the sauce on the side since I wasn't eating it right away. I also ordered a side of hummus with pita only. The shawarma was delicious. The chicken was tender. The pickles aren't overwhelming. And the garlic sauce is super flavorful. The hummus is also perfection. They gave me a ton! And a ton of pita bread too! I definitely had leftovers. Delicious. I'll definitely return and recommend!

I normally have a great experience and haven't been for awhile because we moved a little further. There was trouble with the birthday code and then had to add something but they couldn't just add a side to my Shawwarma or start the order again. It was the only cashier and I just felt humiliated.

I had the succulent chicken, it was AMAZING!! I the service was fantastic especially Scott. Beautiful atmosphere and it was cool enough to sit in the patio. Highly recommend.

Fair warning... If you come here for Valentine's Day, you won't be the only one. There was a line out the door exactly at 5 PM on Valentine's Day. My lovely wife hopped in the line and let my pregnant self wander inside to hopefully get at least a seat to rest, if not better an actual table. It seemed impossible to find a seat when I walked in, but I casually went to the restroom, then took a few moments to look around for potentially open table. I came across the bar in the friendly bartender, asked if I wanted to seat. Of course, I said yes. I quickly called my wife and told her to get her to tushy inside and out of the cold February temperatures. She was a happy camper when she found me sitting cozy at the bar with an open seat for her next to me. I happily ordered the lemonade which was half off and she got a boozy beverage that had Prosecco. Since my wife and I both love to order two entrees to share/ try more things from the menu, we got the Garlicky Chicken ( 1/2 roast chicken, garlicky potatoes, tomato-onion relish, pickles) and ShawarmBaa (Juicy lamb stuffed pita with lettuce, onion,  peppers, and tomatoes dressed with tzatziki) with a side salad. We're pretty big eaters and normally eat dessert. However, we didn't have room for dessert which is extremely abnormal especially since I am pregnant. I highly recommend the Garlicky Chicken and it could be a shared between two people alone with an appetizer/ small salad for each person. The ShawarmBaa was amazing as well but fell short to the Garlicky Chicken. The best way to explain the atmosphere/ vice is Panera meets your favorite Greek place so homey with potential to feel intimate or social.

Food - pretty good for the price Service - good order/take a number/deliver to table Ambiance - average Hadn't been here for a good while. Mushroom soup - solid and tasty Chicken wrap with lettuce and garlic etc - tasty Took 1/2 o the wrap home for leftovers Nice touch - complimentary pita bread with Make your own EVOO and salt/pepper dipping sauce, very tasty, reminds me of the OG variant @ Bonefish Grill that was "da bomb" many years ago.

Meddy's was an absolute delight! I ordered the Shawarmabaa and the Bangin' Beef, and both dishes were seriously delicious. The Shawarmabaa was packed with flavor-- the lamb was juicy and perfectly seasoned. It came wrapped in a warm, soft wrap. The tomato, lettuce, and onions inside added an element of fresh and crispiness. When ordering, I would note that the shawarmas come with different sauces and veggies inside based on the meat you choose. I personally liked the ingredients in this lamb shawarma the best. The Bangin' Beef was also quite good. Tender beef with seasoning that was warm and savory. I liked how much beef was packed inside. What I really love about this place is their free, fresh pita bread. The texture is light, fluffy, and has a little bit of a chewiness that I can't stop thinking about. It had that perfect just-out-of-the-oven warmth and a hint of toasty crispness on the outside. We sat out on the outdoor patio, which had a very stylish, chill vibe. The inside of the restaurant looked nice as well-- modern, clean, and cozy. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.

I love Meddy's!! We came on Valentine's Day and they were doing a special - women eat free. The place was PACKED but the service was amazing. This location is huge and has tons of easy parking. The food is delicious every time, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I got the Meddy's plate with chicken and it was enough for three meals. I will absolutely be back!

The food was delicious 10/10. the price point is very affordable, and the portions were generous. I had a hummus tray it was delicious and my son had the garlicky chicken and he did not have any leftovers. As far as the ambiance, I got the feeling that it was a family restaurant, kinda like iykyk lol and we didn't know lol but we were not disappointed in any way. Now the manager he was the bald guy, handsome lol he acted a little weird. Never even spoke to my son or me at all, even though he walked through about 10 times until I guess he realized we weren't going to rob the place. But even with that , the food and the rest of the staff make this place " a must return" !

I really enjoyed my first visit to Meddy's Brookside location last year, so when we were in Prairie Village yesterday I eagerly took my wife here for her first Meddy's visit. Honestly I was a bit let down and underwhelmed. This time the wait in line to order was longer than what i had previously experienced and the staff seemed overwhelmed with the crowded restaurant. The place was packed with noisy kids; it seemed like a social event for a youth soccer league. My hummus bowl with lamb shawarma was average at best and this is my go to dish. The hummus was satisfactory, yet the grilled veggies and lamb was quite mushy, much different than what I was served in Brookside. With so many quality independent Mediterranean restaurants in the city, I'll probably pass on the Wichita based chain going forward.

    Sarah G.

Meddy's is a new to KC chain restaurant that originated in Wichita. First of all, can I just say that I love that it came out of Wichita? People might lol at that comment, but for real, I love it when a great concept comes out of Kansas and they are in good company with some OG chains like Pizza Hut and White Castle, though it's nice to see a healthy option coming out of the heartland these days. That being said, let's dive into what's working here. First of all it's a fast casual mediterranean restaurant so I'm not necessarily looking for the best of the best when it comes to hummus etc. Meddy's is to mediterranean as Chipotle is to Mexican if you will. It's sort of its own thing, and that's not a bad thing at all. You order at the counter, they give you a number, and you find a table. At this location in Prairie Village I love that they have both indoor and outdoor seating for nice days. If you dine in, they bring you fresh pita bread, which is actually warm, and you can dip it in olive oil. Love that. Who doesn't love some warm bread and olive oil? Both times I've come here I've gotten their mediterranean salad with salmon, and it always hits the spot for a healthier lunch alternative. My only critique is that if you order to-go you'll miss out on the bread, but maybe that's just an incentive to dine in? Overall, this is a great little healthier spot to check out in you're in the area.

Twilight zone ah restaurant…read more The summer evening's gentle humidity greeted me as I woke up from a strange dream. I recall a long room. Tables set. A menu hanging by a thread, the crease counting on one hand how many openings it has left. What is that desolate counter doing there? And those Wayfair basket shelves? Sure, I'll get the Greek Platter. A tasty entree no doubt but an unholy matrimony: the saddest pita bread you'll meet. At no fault to Kinzi, cyclospora weighed heavy on me this meal. Just thought you should know. Soon I'm in the hallway. Washing your hands is righteous, right? Where am I? Laboratory light seems to come from nowhere. Dove white dry paint on the floor and the door. And the handle. Get me out of here. As I descend the steps of purgatory, a siren calls: "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" Motion detectors. But where? And what are we protecting? The patrons from themselves? I'm back, but not for long. This entire time I endured the music. The flat screen does no justice to these poor bare bellied women, forced to dance for eternity, only punctuated by YouTube ads. Then, suddenly, there's an incessant beeping. For a few minutes it won't go away. Then, "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" followed by the cutely sinister chimes. Oh, it's the ice box. He rips something out of the bottom and the beeps dissipate. The kind man approaches. "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" What? Oh! The plates, yes, and the check, yes. "Save Ferris," his shirt reads. Is that who we're guarding? As he walks back, "Hi! You are currently being recorded!" *jingle lingle ling* Time to go. The motion detector once again clocks me as I exit. Everyone should dare to dream. For now, I must wake up.

The restaurant appeared to be severely understaffed, our server was also cooking, and it seemed like only one person was running the entire place. Because of that, service and cleanliness suffered a bit, and the tables and menus felt slightly sticky. I'd probably recommend takeout over dining in, but I also got the sense that this was more of a staffing issue than a lack of effort.

While the staff was friendly, they messed up my order, and the food was just off. I asked what ordering it "Jerusalem style" meant, and upon hearing it included pickles, said "Oh, no thank you." It had pickles anyway. I asked for extra tomatoes on my salad and meal, and if that was extra tomatoes then I shudder to think of what the normal amount looks like. They also left the onions off both. The salad was a bit strange to me. When I hear "Greek salad", I'm picturing crumbly feta and a light vinaigrette. I can definitely give allowances for salad dressing because everywhere does it differently, but this was creamy and not particularly good. I don't particularly like having to use a knife on salad anyway, but if I wanted any tomatoes or cheese, it was necessary. I didn't expect the carrots or red cabbage, but that's on me, even if I still think it's odd. The weirdest part was the feta- a few cubes of hard feta. There just was no way to incorporate it into the salad itself. I appreciate the chill vibe of the place, but I will not be back.

So, FPO and I were actually headed for Taco Naco last night (I really need to finish that review)…read morebut for once we were there and the open sign was illuminated for Amir Mediterranean Grill and Bakery. Taco Naco looked to be pretty packed, per usual on a Saturday night and we've really been wanting to try Amir for a while so we headed there to take a look at the menu. When you walk in, it looks like a take out place but to the left they have dine in seating. There was only one couple in the place when we got there. Since we're still relative Mediterranean food newbies we were dependent on the staff to explain several of the dishes. We got the Baba Ghanouj to start, FPO got the Gyro plate and I got the Shawarma plate. The plates come with with a soup or salad. We decided to dine in. It was a little cold, I think because there were only four people in the dining area. The restaurant was very clean and they had an 80's love song station playing so it was very mellow. The food was all super tasty. The Baba Ghanouj had smokey taste to it that was different to me. I usually prefer hummus. But, I liked it and the bread that came with it. They served a Greek Salad that was really good. The vegetables were cut so they were easy to eat and the dressing was tangy with a Kalamata flavor to it without actually having Kalamata olives. FPO thought the gyro meat was a little salty but I thought the Shawarma was just fine. The plates came with hummus and a yellow rice and more bread. The portions are good-sized. The people are very friendly, polite, and attentive. On the way out we also tried their Baklava. If I hadn't already decided that there's going to be a next time, that alone would've been enough to get me back. Through the door.

The plate included a nicely sized and okay salad, a piece of fresh, warm pita bread, a fair quantity of cubed meat on a generous amount of moist, yellow rice, sliced banana peppers and chilled tzatziki sauce. The dining room was basic and clean with Mediterranean background music, and I was checked on to make sure everything was satisfactory. When I paid before leaving I noticed I was overcharged for the meal ($14.30 before tax instead of $12.99) - not cool. I'm hoping it was an opening week mistake and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I wish they offered reasonably priced combos that didn't include fries like a sandwich with side salad so as to keep it healthy. Overall, A-OK.
