Jerusalem Pizza is now open after a devastating fire to their restaurant. We have been going there for decades and have always enjoyed the food. Today, January 14, 2026, I had a falafel sandwich and my wife had the fall platter with 4 sides. Our food was tasty and counter service was very efficient. The new layout is very functional and customers move quickly down the line. The restaurant interior is attractive and the bathroom is large. A dairy based kosher restaurant that has excellent NY style pizza, Middle Eastern offerings, even Chinese and Mexican items. Had a slice of their standard cheese and it was all that I expected. Big slice, chewy and with a good amount of cheese perfectly done. Ordered the salad plate which you choose what salads/sides you want on it. Had the hummus, cucumber salad, Israeli salad and dolmas. It comes with a full pita, four felafel balls and tahini. Portions are generous, a meal easily on its own. Staff was nice, prompt and helpful. read more

This is the LAST time I'd step into that restaurant There is never any organization whatsoever inside, whoever gets served and/or pays, the food looks awful and old, the workers inside don't care at all about customer service but MOST dusturbing their kitchen is NOT clean- I found a fly in my food and per other reviews, it looks like this is an ongoing issue from the restaurant but the owner doesn't seem to do anything about it I took a picture of the wrap I ordered.. it had a fly in it STAY away from that restaurant better to go to the Kosher Dunkin Dunits few blocks down.. and their customer service is nicer read more

Wow what was I surprise delicious I couldn't believe it and the owner or the purse since that was making the pizza he was a very very friendly andHe puts pride in his pie. 2.5 stars for small good pizza but pricey. The pizza had a ton of mozarella on it and mushrooms which I loved. It was cheesy and delicious but the mushrooms were likely out of the can and the price was too high for a single slice that was pretty small. Their free water was also out of a disgusting pitcher that we had to buy their bottled water. At the end of the day, it got the job done. amazing pizza store, i came here on a Sunday when it was super busy. I was greeted by a very friendly staff member handling the French fries, salads and drinks. once i told him what i needed i went more down the line to the pizza and they had alot of choices, the man in charge of the pizza was an old fashion Italian chef that you can see loves what he is making and wants to serve it to the best he can. I have the falafel with the four salads. The falafel is OK, today it was a little overcooked perhaps. I love experimenting with the salads as some are excellent and so are pretty meh. The meh ones are usually lacking in flavor and are bland. Overall food rating a 3. The baba ghannooj is outstanding. It takes a lot to fill me up and I always leave here feeling stuffed. Volume wise, and that's important to me, it's 5. In fact, it's kind of too bad they're closed are Friday nights because this place could be a great alternative to the grease trucks for the Rutgers binge crowd. I love Jerusalem Pizza! It is't the closest kosher restaurant, from my house. But, i do go to Highland Park once a week, so i sometimes stop in here for a quick bite. I would normally get the pizza, but I attend a lot of events, and usually we get the pizza from here, so i just decided to get a cheese calzone. What's good here, is that the calzones are small, and filling. When i go to a regular pizzeria, the calzones are so huge, I'm full after maybe 5 bites. The bread of the calzone was perfectly crispy and crunchy. The calzone was super cheesy, and was extremely filling. The service was really quick. My food was ready as soon as I ordered it. It's also great that they deliver to East Brunswick, most pizza places in Highland Park or no pizza places in Highland Park won't deliver to my town, so it's great they deliver 20 mins away. Catered a large kosher family brunch yesterday. 32 Adults and 30 children. I ordered everything from JP. Family members are from Lakewood, Cleveland Heights, Englewood and Passaic. Sholom did an EXCELLENT job guiding my choices and quantities. The platters were plentiful, fresh, attractive and really delicious. Everyone was impressed and loved the food. This place is awesome!!! They catered an office going away party for an associate of mine who is moving to Tel Aviv. We chose this place because she has a Kosher diet. I have to say I was skeptical due to prior pics and reviews, but they did an excellent job. The presentation was nice and the food was delicious. I wish I took a picture but we couldn't stop eating. I'm kind of a food snob and Taim or Kefi in NY are my go-to's. I'll definitely be adding this to the list. I came here for the first time ever like a week ago I got a slice of pizza and the person I was with got a pizza knish. This was a very bad slice of pizza. The cheese was plastic-y with no redeeming qualities. The knish was good until my friend got to the middle of it, which was still cold. More than the food being bad, this was honestly the worst experience I've had in a pizza place ever. There was a line when we came in, so we waited in it patiently, only for both of us to be ignored by staff. They asked the people in line behind us what they wanted, when my friend got their attention that they hadn't taken our orders so they then only took his and not mine. Then at the cash register, when I tried to pay they just immediately went on to ring up the woman behind me. Because the woman's children were stepping all over my feet I took a step back and then proceeded to have to wait with cash in hand until everyone else in line was rung up before they let me pay for one slice of pizza. They got our order confused with others, and were rude about talking over the order, (in which they charged extra money) e after I showed them receipt. Very, very dissapojnted. Although the food tasted good , the portions were ridiculously small (eg, garlic knots are the size of a thumbnail, Israeli salad only filled 1/2 of a tiny container) by any comparison . I'm almost on my way out of Highland Park, and it's sad, because these guys are the only falafel joint in town now that ShuShan Grill is closed. ShuShan did a better overall package. I think I just don't like Israeli falafel, it's totally different than Mahmoun's. So anyway, now that these guys are the only game in town, I gotta play the hand I've been dealt. To be fair, they make a nice change of pace, but something about the falafel isn't right to me. The falafels themselves need to be cooked way longer and be so much more crunchy for my taste, and I think you only get like three of them in a falafel sandwich. Then they drown it in bland salad and tons of tahini. Once you add some of that massively packed together hot pepper sauce, it gets a little nicer, but the whole thing just needs some salt. Is this some kind of imposition on the traditional Ashkenazi Jewish diet being too heavy on the sodium? I mean, yeah, there's a saltshaker, but you guys can't fix the dang tahini or falafel? Damn, I just got so depressed when I added up how long I've been eating here. 28 years ago I had my first combination plate of falafel, baba ganoush, hummus, the corn salad, and hmm, something else. A deep, round foil container full of mouth-watering goodness. Dinner and the next day's lunch for a starving student. I think it was around five bucks then. Now I visit once a year. This year I lied to my family and told them we were taking a later train from New York, just so we could eat dinner here. I miss all those young Israeli guys who worked there when I was at Rutgers. They'd never make eye contact with little red-headed shiksa me:) But the salads are still excellent. I've never tasted the pizza, and never ate at the ill-fated Meating Place that they briefly opened next door. If I ever move back to NJ, it would have to be within driving distance of Highland Park, just so I could have that salad plate. Oh, and now they have divided to go containers, so when I opened my leftovers at midnight back at my hotel, I didn't have corn salad flavored hummus! The falafel here is PHENOMENOL. Best falafel i've ever had, even compared to my own freshly made falafels and falafels from New York City. I usually get the Falafel mix plate and create my own falafel sandwich with hummus. The tahini sauce is delicious and you can ask for extra too. read more

Aweful delivery experience!!! They seem nice enough in the store but delivery has been aweful. Last week they were half an hour late with the delivery, no apology. This week the delivery was over an hour later than the seamless delivery time. Again no apologies. Two times my kids have been waiting for pizza dinner and both times proved a disappointment. Annoying prob best adjective. Got reprimanded for not magically knowing the proper way to order and pay and then again reprimanded for waiting for my order. Eventually when I left my kids to wait for the rest, 15 Min later they found out that the last item didn't exist plus the owner kept saying it's coming it's coming and then when realized it was out (we are talking about a stupid knish!!) he wouldn't refund the money so they gave up and took a drink instead. Maybe rude and jerk to kids more accurate adjectives. I was only saying annoying because of the reprimands not the actual dishonesty and financial cheating. I love this place for an occasional treat. It's a little far away for me so I don't go as often as I'd like. This place is unique. Don't take anyone you hope to impress, since you order from a deli counter (there's no table service). But this place is great for take-out or a quick casual bite. That being said, I love their selection of salads and just the fact that they offer so many vegetable-based dishes! I wish other places had the same selection. The falafel here is my favorite in the area. It's full of garlic flavor - not hot & spicy like some other styles of falafel (which have their place in the falafel world too). Wonderful flavor! I do hear that their pizza isn't great - may be good for people with no other pizza options (I'm not Kosher and neither is my friend who tried the pizza). I don't know how I feel about a place that serves Mediterranean, Pizza, AND sushi... has anyone tried the sushi from here? I digress... After being wrongfully surprised at their lack of meat toppings for pizza (duh, obviously I wasn't thinking) I went ahead and got some falafel instead. They were dry and flavorless. I'm leaving this review specifically for the falafel. For the past four months approximately the owner change the type of pita bread he was using for the falafel and it is amazing. It's not that cheap hard pita a lot of places use and that is what he used in the past but now it is soft and just delicious pita. read more

We were looking for a place with a reliable hechsher that serves Cholov Yisroel and Pas Yisroel; and were delighted to find them. Jerusalem Kosher Restaurant is the best Kosher dairy restaurant in the Highland Park and Edison area. We always go back for their great choice of foods and cozy and friendly atmosphere. Shalom the owner and the rest of the crew always serve us with a smile and impress us with their speed! Their food is always delicious and reasonably priced. They have a board on the wall where the Jewish community post their business cards and ads and is a great source of net working for us. They also sell a few Hebrew news papers and some Kosher food products imported from Israel. Their Sushi is wonderful too! read more

Been coming here since 2000 and it hasn't changed a bit. Which is a good thing. Great salads, falafel is tops, and if extra Tahini (on everything!) is your thing - no problem, and they do it happily! Had the pizza only once, was not a fan - I don't ever order pizza here. Get the other dishes - you won't regret it! Prices make me happy, so do the portions, I usually have food left over. Lots of hustle and bustle of the Highland Park locals, alas, I do miss that town. I stop in when I can these days. You are stil my favorite falafel in NJ. There's street parking and a free pubic town lot almost directly across the street.. Parking and seating inside can get crowded, or not,ya just never know. Skip the pizza and try the falafel and baba ganoush, those along with the hummus are the real stars of JP. This had to be one of the worst experiences I've had in a pizza place. I've been here twice, the first time was whatever (even though the staff was rude) but when I gave it another shot yesterday I had the same experience. I will literally never go back there again. 20 dollars for a large pie even though the menu said 10.25 ...the owner or someone in charge explained to me "it was a big pie" that's why it was so much money but refused and ignored that it was advertised at a different price... he repeatedly asked me for my last name when all I was doing was ordering a pizza, he had my first name and I was standing right in front of him. He kept prying to get it and wouldn't stop. After we got the pizza it was very undercooked and some of the worst pizza I've ever eaten. This was the only place open in highland park on a recent stormy Sunday night. The power had been off for a day and the area was under a boil water restriction. I had a fallafel and had the worst bowel movement in years. Not sure if it was the unorthodox cabbage in the fallafel or maybe the owner was not aware his power had been off and he needed to boil the water? The pizza is hit or miss, usually a miss. The felafel is good as is the eggplant parm. There's usually enough seating but it can get crowded at peak mealtimes with lots of families. It's the only kosher pizza around so you're stuck if that's your scene. read more
