We had gone up for the weekend to do a baking class in Vermont at King Arthur, which was fantastic. We stayed right down the street from Jesse's and made a reservation which I'm glad we did because the place was packed at 6:30 on a Friday night, which is always a good sign. Service was world class and a delicious meal. The prime rib was absolutely fantastic. A must stop in this part of the country to have a really rustic great dinner.

Delicious! Jesse's is a cozy log cabin with friendly waitstaff and awesome food. We started off with Calamari and wedge salad. We ordered a half wedge salad but recommended a full. For entree, we ordered fish n chips, lobster, and Tuna. All were above satisfactory. Loved the comfy cabin vibes and excellent food!

I've been to Jesse's about three times now, and it's been consistently great each visit. I always order the same thing: the French onion soup to start, ribs for dinner, and key lime pie for dessert. For drinks, I highly recommend the Made in Vermont martini. The restaurant has such a warm, cozy atmosphere, and the food never disappoints. The ribs are absolutely to die for--fall-off-the-bone delicious! And the service is always great.

Gorgeous steakhouse with a solid menu. Service was fantastic. Beautiful fireplace. The holiday sangria was very refreshing. Try the asparagus fries. Worth the upgrade as a side for the prime rib.

Service was fantastic. We came on a Tuesday night and it was packed! The hostess was able to get us a table for 2 pretty quickly. Not long after we were seated a basket of fresh bread was brought to us. The food was good, the maple crème brulé was delicious I would make the drive again just to have that! Seems like a good place to bring families. It wasn't very loud like some restaurants can be, you can easily have a conversation without yelling across the table.

We pulled into town sort of late and the restaurant was close to the hotel we were staying at. We had an excellent meal. I had the black and bleu ribeye and it was cooked perfectly at medium rare. It was served with mashed sweet potato which was so good. My girlfriend had the meatloaf which was even better. To end the night we had dessert, a crème brûlée, so good. We will definitely be back.

    seafood gratin (very good)

Jesse's Steakhouse is not gourmet dining -it's a steakhouse and should be compared to similar steakhouses. The last time we went was a few years ago and we ate in the restaurant. It was fun and the food was good. This time we did takeout. The order was correct and on time. The seafood gratin was delicious and came with rice and veggies. The half rack was generous and came with french fries. We ordered the tater tots - These are amazing because they are huge squares but they are light on the inside. They were very crunchy and tasty.

We've gone for lunch the past two weeks and the meals did not disappoint. I opted for prime rib both times while my husband got the teriyaki sirloin. My sons had the porterhouse and the black and bleu ribeye. The mashed sweet and loaded baked potato are always delicious. Service has been stellar both times. Great job!

I'm not normally a bread and butter before dinner gal but it hit the spot. I split two pastas, and one of them was okay, while the other was AMAZING. The chicken carbonara was a 7/10. Not a bad pasta, but nothing crazy. It really tasted like Alfredo pasta with a bit more savoryness. On the other hand, the short rib Bolognese was way better than expected. 10/10, honestly. The short rib was tender and melted in your mouth and the sauce wasn't just a standard marinara. It was richer, with a sort of creaminess and perhaps even a good amount of cheese. It was AMAZING. Definitely the spot to go in Hanover.

The positive is that we were able to put our name on the waiting list so we were seated right away once we arrived, having walked over from the Hanover Inn. Our table of six were mostly just okay with their food (burger, fish and chips, pasta). The standout item was the clam chowder which had plentiful clam pieces and a really good flavor. 5/5 The chicken nachos were pretty good 4/5 I suspect we will still go back to Molly's in the future because it is a Hanover institution and convenient, but I need to find what item to order that I will really enjoy eating.

Dinner Service was excellent and Loretta gets a shout out for her tableside manner. Manager on duty also gets a call out for accommodating my special request to slice and serve the ciabatta rolls we had just made earlier that day at King Arthur Flour. The ambiance was great, it's just sad that the food, every item we ordered whether a pasta or a short rib or a fish, were all just meh. and an expensive meh. Brunch I had higher hopes for brunch the next day given my excellent experience the last time we were in town. Should have stuck with what we ordered the last time (lobster eggs benedict, pancake, frittata, day in milan chicken sandwich). This time we ventured out and ordered the recommended duck hash which was just a bit of a mess, greasy, and not that tasty. The Day in Milan chicken sandwich was still amazing and amazingly messy to eat and the fries excellent - 5/5. But overall, most of the food we had a Pine this time was a miss.

Leona recommended the Brussels and they did not disappoint with a perfect combo of roasted small Brussel sprouts with crispy prosciutto, goat cheese mousse and pickled red onions. What a great combo!! We also split the spinach salad which was perfect for winter with dried cherries, blue cheese, candied pecans and apples. We also had the artichoke fritters which had a subtle taste of artichoke and bits of tangy lemon. We split the ginger pork meatloaf and it was a creative, delicious take on traditional meatloaf. The flavor was reminiscent of the inside of a superb Peking dumpling. The dining room was decorated with beautiful area photos and there was beautiful display of custom designed knives that could be seen in a show case on the way to the restrooms. I took a photo because it may come in handy for a future gift for some aspiring chefs in my family! Excited to add Thyme to our list of stops in between our travels to and from MA to VT.

Not sure what happened between the kitchen and our server, but 2 of 3 main courses came out cool. One was my crab-stuffed sole and the other was our son's $85 filet mignon. We had to let the server know. She brought over the manager who said they would "reheat" our dishes. I questioned him, um, "reheat" not remake? He said he could redo them but the steak will take 25 minutes (son's father had already dug into his duck by this point). Manager said if we try reheating it and it's not to our liking he'd take the steak (no mention of the sole) off the bill. We said fine, let's try reheating so as to resume eating asap. Of course the steak was no longer medium-rare and my fish was pretty awful. The most annoying thing is that he/manager NEVER acknowledged my meal being cold and removing it from the bill. Only my son's steak. Why? I don't know. In general, I think the food here is overpriced and very underwhelming. Now I know and I don't need to go back.Food did not have the flavors outlined in the descriptions. Our Waitress was very good though (not her fault the food was not to par for the price).
