The day before my daughter's wedding, we went in to panic mode as we realized the dress she was prepared to wear would not work. (Leaving out details on purpose.) While a friend was prepared to drive her dress over last minute we decided to make a stop at our favorite neighborhood consignment shop. When we walked in and asked Amber if they had a wedding dress, we were so relieved when she said there was one in back. It took our breath away as she carried it out!! When my daughter was in the dressing room, Amber astutely whispered the price but told us to just let her try it on. We're so thankful because our frugal daughter wouldn't have even put it on. We just had manicures so Amber helped button up the almost perfect fitting dress. My daughter looked like a beautiful bride! As we walked out the stores two ladies from our incredible community were there and offered to help pay for the dress. I didn't feel like I could accept such an offer and Amber recognized it needed facilitating. Again, her discretion as well as the ladies' went in to play as they worked out a donation toward the dress. Amber even contributed as well! I just had to share this experience to show Jet Set is not just another store, it's part of our community and the greater good... it's part of our lives! This isn't the first time we found just the piece we needed at the right time, but it's certainly the moment that will forever stick. The pieces here are limited and I messaged the owner before hand on Instagram to confirm there would be pieces in my size. I got there and there were about 4 to choose from. The shop keeper assured me if I went to their other location in Santa Cruz there would be more but getting stuck on highway 1 traffic was not in the plan for that day. I loved this place. Great styles, good prices, and friendly service. I came in for some *CLASSIC* styles and they definitely had a few. I am not one who wants to dress like I am older than I am....and I felt like they had some gorgeous stuff for me. I will be back to see what more comes in. Too bad I am not a size 4 or else I would have stopped my search for the perfect dress as soon as I saw their display window (see my photo so you know what I was after, what I lean towards). I used to frequent Jet Set pretty regularly. The ladies were always helpful and gracious. The clothes relatively nice along with higher prices. The last couple times I was in, a long haired, bespectacled, pretty woman assisted me, if you can call it that. When I asked a couple simple questions, she acted annoyed, like I was interrupting something really important, even though I was the only woman in the store. After that, I put my selections back and left. The last time I was there, I found a nice black dress, but it had a tear at the base of the exterior zipper, so I asked for a discount. The same snooty person as before looked at me like I was asking for a free rack of clothing. She did give me a minor discount, so I purchased the dress and got out of there as quickly as possible, so small talk, no eye contact. Maybe she bites too! I haven't been back. This woman should not be in a service business. read more

This is an upscale consignment store that tends towards more "mature" styles. You'll see more St. John than Betsey Johnson, know what I mean? BUYING: Jet Set has a great selection of designer clothes at a bargain price. REALLY a Michael stars shirt for only $12 what a deal!!! I especially love the way the store is set up by color it makes it super helpful when shopping for that perfect something to complete your ensemble. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This is only a reflection of the unfriendly customer service lacking individual that was in the store when I came in. Very happy after Christmas and looking to find something nice for New Year's, I walked in and was not greeted. Was not asked if I needed help. I walked to the register to look at the jewelry, was not acknowledged by the person behind the register in anyway. Can only lead me to believe that they do not want to sell anything, or at least not sell anything to me. I do not recommend the store. I entered Caroline's next-door, and asked if Jet set Bohemian was part of Caroline's. As the friendly volunteer cashier was explaining no, the store next-door is not part of Caroline's, two people said they had had less than friendly experiences next-door (At Jet Set Bohemian) and after one visit did not plan to go back again. This is sad because if one has clothes on consignment, there are many missed opportunities occurring, due to lack of customer service experience. read more

I love this space. Jet Set Bohemian has been a staple in the community for cool, classic and current consignment for years, and I have a hard time leaving empty handed. I always feel welcomed and as if I can take my time browsing without being pushed, yet always feel good when I ask for assistance in finding exactly what I'm looking for. The woman who helped me the last time I was in was funny and kind, and her knowledge about fashion was apparent- she's a sharp dresser herself. I recently purchased a pair of leather booties here. I saw them on Instagram and the owner was kind enough to hold them for me until I reached the store. They fit like a dream, were in amazing condition and the staff was so helpful and welcoming. Totally a bargain as well! I was rushing during traffic in the evening and showed up 5 minutes to close. I enjoy browsing around in this local consignment shop hoping to find a deal or two. Their clothing is very expensive for a consignment shop so I find myself just browsing and never end up buying. Many items prices are close to the real price you would pay in a normal department store. It's a bummer that the owner takes advantage of the Aptos community. read more

This store is nice, always well stocked but it tends to appeal to the conservatively inclined. I like the boutique, funkier items that are otherwise hard to find, and sometimes find something I love. They have a great location, and the front window always looks enticing. The one thing I really don't like at all is that they carry counterfeit designer purses. That's So Wrong! And it caters to the fake status object buyers, which I can't stand. But for the most part it's a nice store. read more

Be careful if you ever sell here, as they don't keep track of what you've dropped off. My items were returned to me minus a nice Anne Klein three piece skirt suit that i didn't realize wasn't in the bag until I got home. I called and inquired about it, gave a thorough description (size 4P, white jacket and matching white sleeveless blouse, black skirt, linen) and the person said she'd make a phone call and get back to me. It's almost a month later and I still haven't heard back. If they sold it I deserve the money, and if not, I should certainly have received it back ASAP!! read more

I absolutely love this consignment store. I have found my favorite items of clothing and pairs of shoes here. I love following the Instagram because the owner posts the cutest stuff and you can see when they are available right away. Also the quality of clothes that are in the store are amazing. Those brands cost so much money and you can find them there at an affordable cost. I would not be able to afford the original cost of those items. The best part is that she is very good at making sure that most of these clothes are still in absolutely amazing condition and will last in your closet forever. This store still has its integrity. The owner and her mother have had this store for decades and it is a business that has been passed down. This family has the best taste. Also when walking in you feel like you are at home. Super welcoming environment. Most of the consignors are people that have been consigning there for years there would not go anywhere else. Most of the shoppers are people who have come back time and time again. There is a lot of loyalty in this shop which I value.
