My '64 Pontiac A/C Needed Help. I've owned this car for almost 10 years and the original A/C system has worked well through most of that time. Recently however, I've noticed that the air coming out of the A/C vents didn't seem to be as cold as it should be. I could see a lot of vapor bubbles passing by the sight glass on the line back to the compressor. A little meat thermometer showed a temperature of about 60 degrees coming out of the vents on a hot day. My trusted mechanic suggested Jetair and I made an appointment for two days ago. Jetair was ready to do a diagnostic on my car almost exactly at the appointed time. They went to work while I waited in a comfortable chair in the office. They were to do a dye inspection and then add refrigerant to the system if the system didn't show any leaks. An hour later the job was done and John explained everything they had done: after the dye inspection, they had added 14 oz. of refrigerant and a little compressor oil. After I got the car back on the road with the same meat thermometer, the temperature was now almost at 40 degrees coming out of the vents. I can't say enough about this experience: an appointment system that really works for the customer; a shop willing and able to work on an old A/C system; no attempt to "upsell" me anything I didn't need. Evidently the word is out to the old car owners. While I was there, another old car owner came in with a need for A/C work. Again, I can't say enough about Jetair. read more

Very thankful my dad recommended I go here when my A/C stopped working all of the sudden. It was an overall excellent experience. He looked it over and said everything looked good but wasn't getting any power and found the wires had been chewed by a rodent. $115 dollars later I had functioning A/C again. Found them on Yelp. Not tons of reviews but reviews that are on here were great. Took the gamble. Referred a friend based off yelp. They took care of the friend in speedy fashion. Only thing I objected to was the time charged for labor. Seems like they rounded up. Like I said they were fast which did not reflect on the bill of course. That's my petty gripe lol maybe charged an extra $30. Other than that staff were cool. Seemed honestly. Id refer people and go their myself if needed. read more

I took my 91 Chevy truck to Jetair per another mechanic's recommendation. My truck's a/c stopped working. When I arrived, John diagnosed my truck right away ( I had an appointment). He replaced a switch and my a/c started working right away. He pointed out that the compressor has a minor leak and would need to be replaced eventually but was not necessary at the moment. He suggested I keep an eye on it but for now everything is sufficient. I appreciated his honesty and that he did not try to upsell me with any uneccessary repairs. John was very knowledgeable in his craft. I highly recommend this shop for your automotive a/c repairs. I am going to go back to have my compressor replaced once it finally wears out. read more

I have had John work on my heating core for my '14 RAM 3500 a few years ago (flushed and cleaned out) and he did an outstanding job. I brought it in for the same condition to be flushed again. As he had to drain the radiator partially.....it required unscrewing the plug on said radiator. When he did that the plug broke off part of the lining in the radiator. This small break required the radiator to be replaced. John told me and ordered a new radiator and installed it at no cost to me. Hands down this is the most honest and fair solution for the problem. I tried to pay for for part of the radiator fix as it was 10 years old. He would not accept that and reiterated to me that it broke when he unscrewed the drain plug. John at Jet Air is a "throw back" to the way service used to be. On Thursday July 1st were driving from San Jose to Folsom to visit with relatives and about 30 miles in our AC just stopped blowing cold air. Since I wasn't driving I started calling the many Honda dealers in the Sacramento area to see who could check it out for us. The soonest anyone could make an appointment was July 7th or 2 days after we'd already be home. Seriously? One did say that If I came in on Saturday the 3rd they _might_ be able to look at it in between jobs. Wow, talk about lack of staffing! All of the other auto shops I called, nine in total, said the same thing. Shingle Springs Honda recommended Jet Air and, thankfully, John was able to show me that good old service isn't dead it's just VERY hard to find. John took the time to discuss symptoms with me while we drove and suggested two possibilities (the AC compressor relay or the compressor clutch). He said that the clutches can wear and then have trouble engaging when warm. He also told me to call him back in the morning and then could bring it up so he could take a look. When we arrived I let it sit for a bit and then retried and it started working again. On the phone again to John while I drove around and he said this reaffirmed to him that it could be one of those two things. As luck would have it, it stopped blowing hot air again while driving and talking so John said "call me in the morning and I can check it out." Not leaving well enough alone I decided to pick up a $9 relay from Autozone and just try it. Well, I can say that 5 days later and over 250 miles later the AC is still working. John called back that morning and asked how it was going and I told him I replaced the relay and it seemed fine for now. I told him we were heading to Apple Hill and he said "hope it keeps working but if not, just swing by on your way back and I'll take a look at it. If I don't hear from you I'll know it's fine!" Thanks so much John! Any time I need any AC help while I'm up there you can be sure I'll come up to you and avoid the local Folsom shops. I've also told all my relatives who live up there the same thing, skip the shops around Sacramento and just head up to Shingle Springs and see John at Jet Air. read more

I took my 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman into Jetair because the A/C was performing poorly, and I wanted to make sure it was ready for the summer heat. Jon did a full diagnostic, and found that my car was slightly low. He suggested that he evacuate the system, refill it, and put in a dye to identify if or where there may be leaks. So far, the A/C is running much colder! Hopefully we can identify the leak with the dye. read more

It is such a huge pleasure when you find someone honest and kind. I took my car in there with my a/c not working and he spent an hour analyzing it and refilling my refrigerant. The main reason I chose JetAir was for all the positive reviews. I normally don't take the time to write good or bad reviews but i feel this shop is deserving of my time. I had an appointment with JetAir to evacuate and charge my self installed Vintage Air system in my 57 Chevrolet pick up project. They took the time to look over my system and explain the process in detail so that i would better understood the system. While the evacuation process was going on they check lines to make sure they were tight and leak free. A calibration was required to get my controls to communicate with the Vintage Air system and this was done correctly. The system was charged and when I left there shop I had 55 degree air blowing out the vents on my old hot rod. It is now an enjoyable ride even in this miserable heat wave we are going through.
