April, 2026, our 2016 300 GLC MBZ alerted for low coolant level. I added about a quart of water to…read morecontinue its use, but scheduled an appointment with TrueCare to diagnose the underlying cause of coolant loss. The upper radiator hose turned out to be the cause. TrueCare replaced it, alleviating our worries for 2 trips to SoCal and one to Reno(from the Sierra foothills). Then a short trip to our local grocery store turned out to be disastrous. When starting the car for the trip back home, it warned to "Check Coolant Level". By the time the car reached our neighborhood, the Temperature indicator had climbed to the red zone, and the warning changed to flashing red "Turn Off Engine!" When it cooled, I checked under the hood to learn that the previously replaced upper radiator hose had come completely off the radiator connector. I contacted Dave, and made arrangements to have it towed to TrueCare. I informed Dave about the hose, and he ordered a replacement. The hose that had been installed had failed, and was defective. This wasn't an aftermarket part, but an OEM from Mercedes. The good news in all of this, is that Dave stands behind all his work with a 2 year warranty. The replacement was done for NO CHARGE!! The lesson here, is that any part can fail, even a new OEM from Mercedes. When a business stands behind their work with this kind of service, it speaks volumes about their integrity. There's good reason why most every review gives Dave's TrueCare 5 star reviews. They've earned it, along with the trust and confidence his customers give him. Thank you, Dave, for always providing the best and most reliable service we know we'll receive when we trust you with the care of our vehicles!!

I called to schedule an appointment, and when I arrived, they explained upfront that the price would be just a few dollars more because the vehicle takes more than five quarts of oil. I appreciated them being transparent about that, and it was no problem at all. I told them I would be waiting, so I walked over to a nearby coffee shop to have some coffee. I wasn't paying much attention to my phone, and by the time I came back, they had already completed the oil change and done a thorough inspection of the vehicle. They checked everything from the battery and brakes to the fluid levels and overall condition of the vehicle. They recommended a transmission flush, but there was no pressure or surprise work. They explained what they found and advised me on what the vehicle might need. Most importantly, I walked out the door paying exactly what they had told me I would pay. The work was professional, thorough, and completed quickly. The Toy Shop is a great alternative to paying dealership prices and experiencing that dreaded "sticker shock." These guys were honest, upfront, professional, and fair. They did exactly what they said they would do for the price they quoted. I would definitely recommend The Toy Shop to anyone looking for a trustworthy automotive repair shop that provides quality service at a fair price. I'll definitely be going back!

Nearly every time I make a visit to 4Play, I not only see 4WDs in the queue but also a variety of classics, including hot rods (50s Chevy's, 60s Mustangs, etc.). For nearly a decade, Chuck took great care of my '66 Mustang Fastback; now, he's babying my '89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and I wouldn't take that classic vehicle anywhere else. About Chuck: he's an analytical guy (not at all unlike many of the software engineers that I work with in my high-tech job) who wants to understand the root of the problem - and not just what the problem is (vs. "symptoms") but also how it came to be a problem at all. He's really fantastic, and the only reason I haven't taken all of my vehicles to Chuck is due to the complexity with diagnosing issues with my later-model Volvos. It's just not feasible for Chuck pay for Volvo's software subscription when he rarely works on Volvo vehicles. Great guy, honest guy, gets to the root of the problem *and* what's causing the problem. 100% would refer him to others.

I've never actually bought a car here (and after seeing the prices, my wallet immediately filed a restraining order), because the markup on their vehicles is absolutely wild. Like... "is this car also coming with a small vacation home?" kind of wild. So yeah, that's the only reason they're not getting a full 5 stars. BUT... I always get my car serviced here, and they've been fantastic every time. I have a 2017 Honda Civic Si, and I've never once had an issue with their service department. Shoutout to Melissa, my service advisor, who is honestly amazing. Every visit is smooth, fast, and painless. I'm usually in and out quickly, which in car-dealership time is basically a miracle. Their mechanics actually know what they're doing too. I had this super annoying rear window leak that I couldn't figure out for the life of me. They tracked it down to a bad window seal and fixed it properly. No guesswork. No "let's see if this works." Just... fixed. The place feels professional, trustworthy, and well-run, which is exactly what you want when someone is poking around your car with expensive tools. So yeah: * Buying a car here: * Getting your Honda serviced here: If you own a Honda and want reliable, competent, and fast service, I'd absolutely recommend Shingle Springs Honda. Just... maybe don't look at the new car prices unless you're emotionally prepared.
