My 2020 cooper needed brakes replaced, I got a quote of over $2000 at the actually cooper dealership. I've been getting tired of how much they're charging for services and just didn't have the funds for that. I looked at Yelp and thank goodness I did! I looked through Decann reviews to ensure they actually have worked on Coopers and did see a good review about one. I called and got an appointment pretty fast for more than 50% less than what cooper dealership was going to charge, and bonus I'm helping a local family business instead of giant corp. win win! Brought my kid's BMW to Decann's shop in September 2019. Decann and Corey were awesome about communicating with me about what was wrong as they broke it down. On their own, they determined and advised me that the issue was under an extended warranty through BMW. They helped me coordinate towing the car to the dealer so that I could get the remaining repair completed under warranty. They could have easily done the work themselves and charged me full price. I would have been none the wiser. In short, these guys are awesome. In my experience they were thorough in the service, completely professional and courteous in their communication and honest - even when it cost them a few bucks - when they let me know I could get the service completed for free. Decann is the kind of old-school throwback mechanic that you just don't find much anymore. I had an old BMW 3-Series that had been mostly sitting for a long time, and he got it back in beautiful shape, which was not at all an easy thing to do. He's genuine, experienced and honest. He doesn't cut corners, but he does give you a fair price. And he's a very nice guy too. I'm grateful for the super work he did for me and regret that we've now moved and I have to search for someone who is as good as him. My engine light came on right before we were leaving for Christmas and I just drove it in to see if they could check if the code was anything to be worried about. The owner without hesitation just said no problem come back in an hour and he checked it to find out a rat had built a home under my hood and started chewing through the wires. Getting stuck with an overheating car in the middle of nowhere is not a joke especially when it is close to quitting time on a Friday. My wife and I got stuck just after Placerville on US50 due to our car entering limp mode due to a bad waterpump. California's outrageous new requirement to getting my 2016 truck smogged every TWO years. The silver lining was getting to meet this place. Special going on right now where if you make an appointment it is $19.99 smog, plus $8.25 for the certificate. I got quotes from 5 local spots, and this was the closest to my house. Not sure if it was intentional but these guys really shit the bed with my son's car. We took his 2007 VW Jetta to them to inspect before purchasing. They gave it a "green light" and it was back in there a few months later for an oil leak. We were back again a few months later for engine mis-firing. They cleaned out cylinder heads with walnut shell treatment. That was fine but we got home and found out they forgot to put a cap back after car would not start. Had to get it towed back. They said they would pay for the tow charge but did not. 6 months later we were back again due to turbo charger not firing. They quoted $2500 to fix. We decided to get second opinion. We went to Folsom VW and they quickly diagnosed a sensor issue. $300 easy fix. But before I could even get the car down to Folsom VE we had a blown radiator hose because Decanns failed to put a hose clamp back on after inspecting turbo charger. I think the main guy at Decanns is smart and knowledgable but my guess is that they just have some young mechanics who don't pay attention to detail and are absent minded. Unfortunately we had not 1, but 2 bad experiences. Never again! BTW- If you have a VW a highly reccomend Folsom VW. They know exactly what they are doing and even fixed Decanns radiator hose mess for free. read more

My sons car was taken there for an inspection prior to a sale. The mechanic listed a bunch of items that were absolutely un founded and not correct. I cant figure out his motive but amazed how such generalizations with no basis to back up his opinions can take place in a professional shop. When called on for substantiate his observations, he couldn't provide solid answers. Only generalizations . In my opinion he is misleading dishonest and therefore I would not recommend him or his shop. He is responsible for killing a sale on a perfectly good sound car. read more

A friend recommended Decann's because he'd heard good things. I had an oil leak that wasn't visible but the dealer had mentioned it in one of my previous check ups and since my X5 is out of warranty I thought I'd give Decann's a try. I was not disappointed. I stopped in unannounced to just chat about it and set up a future appointment. Decann's delivered what they promised and more! They did several minor things without charge, had the car ready when they promised and had washed it! This is a big deal when you're a very busy person. Awesome! I went here to get my car smogged because I saw a coupon in one of the local papers. I called in advance and made an appointment. I went there with 2 toddlers and was in and out in under 10 minutes. That included the time it took me to load/unload the kids, paperwork, and paying. had a bad experience, where the transmission shifting was mis diagnosed and the replacement transmission quote was twice as much as a transmission shop. So now I am out the cost of them removing a transmission needlessly. to top it off the problem was relayed to them and they overlooked it and focused on the transmission I would definitely not recommend this shop read more

Took my vw moterhome to them,after paying another business over $3,000. to repair my transmission,with no luck.Decanne assured me he had the expertise and would fix my problem.After he worked on it and gave me a bill for just under $4,000.which i payed on his word of honor that it was fixed. I still had the same problem.When i returned it to him,he decided that he couldnt fix it after all.andtold me to take to the dealer.He refused to return any of the money i payed him.though my vehicle had the same problem it had when i took it to him.I finally had to pay vw dealer another $1450.to get it repaired.The end result was i ended up spending over$8500.00. for a simple transmission repair. Went above and beyond selling me parts that may have been needed in the future but did not address the issue. Driving off the same problem was still occurring, when I returned they would not back their work. They may be good at minor problems and changing the oil but if you have a major problem I would avoid this shop. read more
