I've never actually bought a car here (and after seeing the prices, my wallet immediately filed a restraining order), because the markup on their vehicles is absolutely wild. Like... "is this car also coming with a small vacation home?" kind of wild. So yeah, that's the only reason they're not getting a full 5 stars. BUT... I always get my car serviced here, and they've been fantastic every time. I have a 2017 Honda Civic Si, and I've never once had an issue with their service department. Shoutout to Melissa, my service advisor, who is honestly amazing. Every visit is smooth, fast, and painless. I'm usually in and out quickly, which in car-dealership time is basically a miracle. Their mechanics actually know what they're doing too. I had this super annoying rear window leak that I couldn't figure out for the life of me. They tracked it down to a bad window seal and fixed it properly. No guesswork. No "let's see if this works." Just... fixed. The place feels professional, trustworthy, and well-run, which is exactly what you want when someone is poking around your car with expensive tools. Had to buy a new Honda, as my trusty old CRV was close to 375,000 miles, and as I drive a lot out of town for my job, I was afraid I better quit testing fate, as sooner or later I'd break down who knows where ( with my luck, in the middle of nowhere !) I choose Shingle Springs Honda to visit, as I had a couple of CRV recall fixes previously done by them, and their Service Dept. was friendly and professional both times. We also had to get a new car for the wife the previous month, with the same situation - But she's a Jeep girl, so we ended up going to two different Jeep dealerships in the Sacramento area. What a disaster - I've bought several new cars over the years, and those two Sacramento dealerships - along with the Sacramento Honda dealership I had bought the CRV from - were ALL basically the old-school "screw 'em over every possible way" type - at the first one, we ended up walking out during price negotiations, for their high-pressure tactics and trying to nickel & dime us. At the other, we gritted our teeth and bought there, since they were at least slightly more accommodating (not as much high-pressure, and they did either back off or take "no" for an answer during negotiations.) So anyway, first thing in the morning, wife & I visit SSH to look for a smaller size HRV. Found a HRV we liked. Salesman was great, easy to talk to, they took our CRV in trade, no high-pressure baloney at all, the sales mgr. was the same, and even the Finance Manager - who at both Jeep dealerships were the kings of high-pressure ("the world will end if you don't add on this and this, etc.) was friendly, professional, and thorough ( maybe it was because she's a queen, not a king ! ) The entire visit to SSH took about 3 hours, so it didn't blow our entire day, either (like it did in Sacramento). I have a 2022 Honda Civic Sport that has 18 thousand miles. Still new as I leased it brand new. 36 month factory warranty. I have 2 issues with Shingle Springs Honda. 1st when we leased the car they said it would have the first 2 oil changes for free which is pretty standard with any new vehicle. Not in this case. They lied. After purchase oh its only the year 2023 with the free oil changes. After you purchase they do not care about you. 2nd issue. My car still new and my check engine light came on. Again 2022 with 18000 miles. Should be factory warranty. Called them talked to a service advisor and she was very adamant that I would have to pay $175 for a diagnostic since probably a wire chewed by a rat! I even questioned her as should be warranty. She said again $175 for a diagnosis. We took our car to O'Reilly they read the code said it was a gas cap issue. I have no gas cap. Called Shingle Springs again and again $175 for diagnostic since a rat might of chewed a wire. I am not sure about the rat problem in our area. Shingle Springs must be overcome by rats since they kept saying probably a rat chewed a wire. Curious how many Honda's were chewed by rats. I called Folsom Lake Honda. John a service advisor was very nice. Asked the year and mileage. He said yeah that is a warranty issue bring it in. No mention of pesky rats or money for the diagnostic. Ends up my car needed a valve gasket replaced. All covered under warranty. So glad all those rats running around chewing wires on Honda's did not get mine. I called back to Shingle Springs Honda as I wanted them aware they lost our business. I talked to Jaime the sales manager told him the story of rats. He said he would ask the service advisors and call me back. Few minutes later he called back and said they were correct quoting me $175 diagnostic and said again a rat might of chewed a wire! I am really curious now. How many rats are chewing on wires. They must really like Honda's. This is just ridiculous. He said he would have the general manager call me. Guess what no one called me. Stay away from the money hungry dealership. They might be charging you when its covered under warranty using a rat analogy! Very bad service! read more

FRAUD ALERT! I buy a lot of cars, so I have a lot of experience with dealers and this one is off the charts for scams and deceipt. So there is a price online, which they won't honor. Then they quote a price on the phone, which they won't honor. Their goal is to get you to show up in person so they can scam you by: 1. Adding a dealer markup when you show up. 2. Twisting a dealer markup into dealer add-ons (basically fake or super overprices "upgrades" that you don't want or need). 3. If nothing else works they will do anything to finance the vehicle themselves for a predatory loan. Got the same vehicle across town with an honest dealer and didn't have to deal with any of these scams. Bottom line is don't believe a word of anything anyone says and expect to get scammed left and right. read more

I really like taking my Honda here for oil changes. They are fast, friendly and reliable. Last time I took my car i worked with Dawson. Dawson informed me that I had a blown gasket and it was covered by my warranty. I sometimes get worried that dealerships will try push items on you that you don't need but in this case it was no extra cost. We brought our newly purchased 2015 Honda Odyssey in for service because the electronic doors weren't closing the whole way. We had an extended warranty on the vehicle, but it expired just a week prior to our service call. Dalton called the warranty company and tried to help, but it was just too late. But he came out to the van to inspect it, and found that the doors sometimes would close, sometimes would not. He showed us how to turn off the electronics so we could close the doors ourselves. I've bought 2 cars here with zero issue! Great value and great cars. Recently my car was making a weird sound. It's my wife's driver so I didn't want her stuck in the heat or worse if it was serious. It appeared to be coming from the brakes or in that area. I got up early to get to the shop and when I arrived I was told i could not be seen. I explained the concern and that I drove quite a distance but the lady at the repair desk said no chance. Needless to say I was disappointed and concerned. I decided since I had it on level ground to look underneath for anything I could see. As I looked, a couple mechanics walked by and asked what was up? I explained to them the issue. They quickly diagnosed it as likely a rock in the rotor and safe to drive from what I told them. Feeling much better and with no options I began to pull out and the mechanic was watching and listening and heard the issue and confirmed it was a rock. He told me to wait as he asked if he could make the quick repair as no cars were currently being worked on in any of the lower bays and after getting it approved he fixed it! Had to pull it all apart but took only about 10-15 mins tops. Zero charge for it too. Thx to the mechanic for having the initiative and concern to go out of his way to help me. I live about 45 mins away so it was much appreciated! I wish I woulda got his name. But thx!! read more

It's always scary for me to go to a dealership but nonetheless needed to bring my daughter's Honda Civic to diagnose the FOB and other key issues. While it was there, I thought it should get a comprehensive review of what else may be going on due to power steering issues and other mechanical concerns. Melissa Arp was my service advisor and she is incredible. She was warm and welcoming when I dropped off the car, assured me it was ok to leave for over a week to accommodate for our vacation, was thorough in notes for the technician to ensure all concerns were covered, was upfront on price for diagnosis (which $350 is reasonable in my opinion), emailed me a detailed report with pricing, and most importantly, when I called her to discuss each issue line by line, she was helpful in explaining the technical details if repairs were not completed today. What a breath of fresh air it was to not feel pressure to do anything right away. I needed up electing to only complete one item and when I picked up the car... she spent an additional 15 minutes explaining the ins and outs of the engine and power steering..
