If your destination is Boston or Fort Lauderdale, the best airline for Philadelphians to use is JetBlue. There really are not as many options as there were before Airtran was absorbed by southwest, but I'll present my case for JetBlue has become the "best" airline, contingent on these two destinations. I wouldn't try jetblue with a US connection, because it seems far too many of their itineraries have ineffective routing (such as via Boston to go south and west) and not competitive pricing results. However, for their directs, as well as their sensible Caribbean destinations via FLL (from either PHL or BOS or JFK, mostly), you can often get a competitive fare that beats or meets all of the other airlines (both of them!) The 1 bag fee for you and your whole party on same itin can be avoided by paying $99 a year for their premium credit card, or else if you insist on paying a la carte, it's $15 to $23 if planned in advance, $35 for a walk-up (as of this writing). Other airlines don't tend to feature advanced booking bag fee discounts such as this, and I think it's a great incentive. I also think the credit card elimination of bag fees is the way to go because every time my family flies one way, this perk pays for itself. The credit card holder also gets half off in flight purchases, which means $3.50 drinks and $3.50 cheese plates. Prices you can't find anywhere else in the sky, and the drink choices are exceptional, not simply the watered down selection of brands too often given on other carriers. ALL of their planes feature free in flight wifi and TV and satellite radio options (www.flyfi.com). Now for a review involving the crew and employees. Jet Blue called me to let me know they canceled my booking and I would have to pay an additional $500 to re-book my multi-leg trip. Upon speaking with a supervisor (escalation team), they claimed it was because the partner airline did not confirm on their end. Funny, because I was already booking the seats with the partner airline when Jet Blue did this to me. I had the partner airline investigate, and they said it was indeed confirmed. I have screenshots of my booking with them before Jet Blue canceled it, so I can prove it. They refuse to accept this. They intentionally canceled my booking to extort more money out of me based on an absolute lie. There is plenty of proof my booking had been confirmed, but they are doubling down in their stance to claim that booking never happened. I'll never get these hours of my life back I wasted trying to talk to them. Never again. read more

JetBlue used to be my favorite airline. The last few times I have flown this airline, I've realized that the planes have gotten old. Most of the TVs don't work. They're outdated technology. Terrible experience. I am on a walker and have limited eyesight. This gang could care less. I was trying to go Philly to Boston round trip two months in advance. Suddenly, my condition worsened. They charge $25/conversation with an agent ( Nigeria.) Stay away from this airline company. No money back after 24-hours. I called within a week to be told no money back. Was not informed of this. They have my money. Next time I will use an American airline or the Excella Train to Boston. More money for a reason. I suspect the high ratings are employees putting in 5-stars. JetBlue exceeded my expectations for a flying experience. The entire time I was nervously thinking to myself "don't say this out loud" "don't jinx myself" "they can still lose my luggage." Aside from the slight delay the entire flight had receiving our luggage, everything went swimmingly. Easy check-in, polite interactions, decent leg room, punctual departures and arrivals.... I picked Jet Blue because they had an affordable flight from Philadelphia to Lima, Peru that was under $800.00 - this is a steal!! I am an avid traveler, so I know the tricks of the trade and with all the extra fees these airlines charge - you have to know how to pack and be prepared for what is thrown at you. The flight attendants were friendly and played games with the passengers - so it made me feels that they are used to wrangling college kids, rowdy groups...LOL The best thing about Jet Blue is the TV and Movies offered - if you have a long flight - this makes a difference and I was pleased with the choices. read more

JetBlue, like Southwest airlines is basically a bus with wings. Unlike Southwest, JetBlue gives you assigned seating. Flight crew was friendly and flight was smooth. My only complaint flying out of Philadelphia is that the plane is coming from their hub in Boston. They always have major delays so flights from Philly to wherever are never on time. Unfortunately, our experience with Jet Blue was a bad one. This review pertains to how Jet Blue's policies negatively impacted my vacation to Costa Rica with my girlfriend. Please note that this is not a review against the support representatives we spoke with, it is a review against Jet Blue's policies for forced itinerary changes. We booked and paid for a flight in August for a vacation in February (6 months ahead). In November, we received an email notifying us that our itinerary had been changed in the following manner: the outgoing flight remained the same, but the return flight gave is an overnight layover in Orlando which was specified to be "at own expense". Naturally, we called the customer service line to see what our options were. It turns out that the proposed new flight was the only option that would not cut our vacation short. So, we reluctantly accepted the new itinerary but let the representative know that we expected to be justly compensated. The first representative, Vanessa, offered us $25 in Jet Blue credits each. We explained to Vanessa that the cost of a hotel in Orlando for the night alone goes for about $200, not to mention the inconvenience this itinerary places on us and that we would be forced to take off an extra day of work for the travel time. Vanessa could not offer us anything more, so we asked to speak with her supervisor. Vanessa put us on the line with her supervisor, Olga, who offered the same itinerary but offered $50 each in Jet Blue credit. After explaining how this would still not cover the cost of a hotel in Orlando, we asked to speak with her supervisor. She said that her supervisor "does not accept calls", but that we could speak with another supervisor if we wished. We decided to pursue the latter. Vanessa transferred us to another supervisor, Lynette, who cordially explained that this was the end of the line as far as who we could talk to and offered us the same itinerary, this time with $100 each in Jet Blue credit. Given that we were told that this was our final offer, we accepted the itinerary and credit. We thanked Lynette for doing all that she could, and explained that our frustration was not at her, but at Jet Blue's policy for not allowing her to compensate us justly. We then explained to Lynette that since we could not express our situation to her supervisor directly, we would post a negative review in hopes that it would get her supervisor's attention (and politely asked for her to pass the message along). This is us following through on our promise, and I hope that this review will eventually help persuade some change in procedure. As a Jet Blue customer, we are disappointed in the way that this matter was handled. As a result, after using our flight credits, we will avoid using Jet Blue in the future. read more

If flying from PHL to BOS, JetBlue is your best choice, especially over AA. JetBlue's staff is friendly, smile, makes eye contact, helps customers with disabilities and their planes are much more comfortable- more padding, seats seem wider and the aisles definitely wider. Also each seat has its own entertainment screen and even better snacks. I only wish JetBlue flew to more cities in the Northeast. read more

I just left the Savannah, GA airport. We had horrible problems with our booking using travelocity. Jet Blu HS canceled our flight and travelocity did not notify me. The wonderful associate Brian was so amazing!!! He not only found us another flight, transferred all our stuff and spent so much time with us!!!!!! Crap happens and people need to understand that the staff from the pilot to flight attendant to gate staff must follow protocol. With that said, why do people act like idiots screaming and yelling as if we have a say. If the engine isn't working, well nothing we can do. We have become a country of spoiled individuals who feel like royalty and any interruption deserves and apology or the magic word compensation. I **LOVE** JetBlue. We do the run from Philadelphia to Ft Lauderdale five to six times per year. When American (awful) took over US Air we needed to find a new airline. We tried a couple but had uniformly bad experiences. Then we tried JetBlue and it was like going back in time -- in a good way. They actually treat you like a human being ! That's shocking in the airline industry today. I didn't feel like I was getting price gauged and abused every time I turned around. And My God -- THE SEATS ARE SIZED FOR ADULTS !!!!! My back didn't hurt when I got off the plane. This has become HUGE for me. I'm a big guy, built like a linebacker at 6'0 270, and I simply don't fit in the new seats that American, Spirit and some of the other airlines are installing. And the upgrade to JetBlue's larger seats isn't all that much more. We tried it on the last flight home and will probably go for the larger seats in the future when they're available. My only complaint is they don't have more flights from PHL to FLL so they tend to fill up. read more

Let me start with the fact That I've been traveling for two days. I was the last guest on the aircraft. I got to my seat & someone was there... no big deal, I went to her seat & it was a middle seat. As the person started to move so that I can get settled, Jean (the flight attendant) offered me an unoccupied end seat. I took it... Settled & started a convo with the guy next to me about how my traveling experience wasn't so great this time around Jean approached me and asked if I would like to move to a more comfy & relaxing spot. I took her up on the offer... I've never flown JetBlue in the pass but I'm truly satisfied with the service I received. Jean was so professional & caring about all the guest aboard the aircraft. Flying from Jamaica (Montego Bay) on JetBlue flight 480 to JFK - diverted to Philadelphia airport due to a sick passenger suffering from some type of seizure. Still sitting here on the plane even after medical personnel removed the sick passenger. No update from the crew as to what is happening or what we should expect. At least update passengers. We have empathy for the sick passengers, however JetBlue needs to handle the with better professionalism!!! read more

Great airline. They boards from the rear forward so keep that in mind when picking seats. If you are lucky to have mosaic then you can board even earlier and have the luck to have free drinks in the air which changes air travel significantly! Our 9 year old grandsons were traveling for the first time as unaccompanied minors on Jet Blue...flying from Boston to Philly. Weather conditions were bad in Philly where we were waiting to meet them so plane was diverted to Hartford. Flight attendant called us from Hartford to let us know the boys were fine and that she was getting them a snack and would watch over them until plane was ready to take off again. Once the plane left Hartford, we were called again and informed that boys were on the flight and should arrive in Philly in an hour. When plane landed, one of the co-pilots escorted our boys off the plane where we awaited them. Their service was wonderful and we didn't have to worry about the boys...they were in great hands. I would give jet Blue more than 5 stars if I could! read more

If i could give zero stars I would. My husband and I went to Spain for our honeymoon. When we arrived our luggage did not. We called the two airlines we used and no one could seem to help us. It took jet blue 5 days to find our luggage, which apparently never even left Philadelphia. So for 5 days we had nothing but the clothes on our backs and were forced to go spend hundreds of dollars on clothes, toiletries, ect. We just got back last night and....THEY LOST MY LUGGAGE AGAIN. Luckily my husbands was there. Not to mention our flight was delayed 7 hrs. If you do happen to take this shitty airline, pack a carry on. read more

This past week we flew JetBlue from Philly to Fort Lauderdale and back. We had a great experience on both flights. Our flight attendant Rachel on our way back to Philly was awesome. She was very friendly and let my son Play with her ipad. The flights were smooth, plenty of leg room with in flight movies and snacks. It was cheaper then a lot of other airlines. Just spent over an hour for no reason waiting for my bag. The carousel listed my flight as unloading the whole time but I waited turns out they had my bag in their office. Their locked empty office. I called the number on the door twice and got no one. The only reason I finally got my bag was because corporate headquarters got ahold of the supervisor. Why would you put a piece of luggage from a flight that just landed then walk away from the office? Unbelievable. Very poorly managed. read more

Terrible experience. Gate personnel were helpful, but phone customer service was a nightmare. Weather delays caused a missed connection to Dublin (from PHL to BOS). Jet Blue was unable to get us rebooked without losing a day. When we requested to extend our stay by one day they refused to do so without fees. We got the royal runaround after waiting on hold with customer service for over 90 minutes! First they blamed Aer Lingus then they blamed Expedia. I will NEVER book with them again. I was coming from Santo domingo on the 6th of july flight 830 leaving at 3:08 am. I got to the airport very early I wanted to check my bag . One person said he will find out , he came back and said ok. after walking with a child and 3 suit cases to the desk. the person said sorry you need to wait until 11pm. At 11pm like 50 people walk like animals to check in there was no one to tell them where to go. Some of them where in the wrong place . When finally someone came to tell them they where in the wrong like . People where arguing who was first etc. Most of the empoyers from jet blue where laughing chit chating. In Boston I pay for my return suitcase. When I went to check the guy from jet blue told me it was 30 dollars, I was upset No one in boston told me it will cost me more money. The card was declining. he could not tell me why. Later in boston the card company told me international flight there is a 1.00 charge to used the card. he return my card and my cash . ( was he telling me get your suit case and shove it.). I pay cash for it. The time came to get in the plain. they only announce the aderly or people in wheelchair. We waited and waited, people started to go on the line. The jet blue comment why are people in line when no one announce it. We got in the plain. We where so exhausted . We where falling asleep The studest a Dominican guy shake me to close the window. Next I open my eye to see the studest pasing snack. He didn't offer me any even thought I had a child with me. when he pass by again I asked him. he return with 3 bags? ( what is here you greedy baster? what does that mean. I waited for a drink and never came. They didn't offer a glass of water. My daughter pick at the window when we where close to boston at 6am. And the studest again scream close the window. When we where ready to decent the studest pass last check. he push my sit and the person next to me so hard to put it straight. This was a very very bad flight.
