I'm gonna start this review by bitching, ironically. I hate listening people bitch about their travel experience. I hate listening to assholes tell me about how long they waited in line at security, how some frisky security guard touched their penis, oh man, there was a fat person sitting next to me, I had to sit and drink cocktails at a beautiful bar while my magic plane that flies in the sky so I can get somewhere insanely quickly was a whole 30 minutes delayed. Ugh, it's such a pain being able to get places really fast and having to deal with people trying to keep me safe at security. Life is so hard.
Let's keep shit in perspective here. These people who bitch about traveling all the time need to maybe fucking read up on the TRAIL OF TEARS. Poor Indians.
Anyways, I love JetBlue. I am not afraid to admit that I am a huge fan of their airline and will always, always book with them. There are a few very simple reasons why:
1. They're super cheap. Seriously, JetBlue is insanely affordable. And, as someone who is dirt poor and sleeping on my parent's futon, this appeals to me. I am in what one may call a "long distance relationship" with a boy who lives in L.A. I live in Sacramento. My car sucks. So, usually, I'm able to find a round trip ticket through JetBlue from Sacramento to Long Beach for about a 100 bucks. 100 bucks! Like, I spend that at over priced bars sometimes when I have no one regulating my drinking.
2. They have TVs on the backs of the seats. Now, this may seems like an arbitrary reason. Especially since I hate being constantly advertised to ESPECIALLY when I paid already to be there (i.e., seeing commercials before a movie. WHAT THE FUCK. I just paid like a million dollars to see Ryan Gosling be suave and now I have to sit through soft drink commercials. Fucking assholes.). So, yeah, the JetBlue TVs advertise JetBlue, you have to sit through, like, maybe five minutes or so of them telling you how great they are and, honestly, I don't really mind because I know when it's done I can watch an episode of Intervention and then arrive at my destination. And really, not to sound like a pretentious snob, but I NEVER watch TV, and spending a little while with Hoarders or CNN on a super short flight makes the time FLY by (get it?).
3. JetBlue points. I have never been one for "promotions" but JetBlue points are actually beneficial for the average traveler and not business dudes who fly to Paris every other week. I signed up for the program, I've flown with them make five times, and after one more round trip I have a free one way ticket to anywhere. Fucking cool.
4. The one time my flight was delayed through them, they gave me 25 bucks towards my next flight. Now, again, I am not a bitcher of travel. I generally just put my headphones on and go with the flow. Does it suck that my flight was delayed for like 45 minutes? Sure, but I didn't really care. And the fact that they gave me a 25 dollar credit towards my next flight was nice and unexpected. Southwest never gave me shit and they were ALWAYS delayed.
5. The have exits in both the front and the back of the planes. This just seems like common sense to me, and how not all planes do this is beyond me. I imagine its because people don't want to walk down stairs and into the airport and would rather go through those entirely more dangerous tunnels. Two exits makes boarding and exiting the place a super fast, totally efficient process. Really, the JetBlue people just don't seem stupid. They seem smart.
I have heard snobby assholes talk about JetBlue like they're "dirty" or "low class" or something. You know what's dirty? The Long Beach Airport. JetBlue is a fucking five star spa compared to that shit. Besides, who cares? JetBlue only makes short flights, I think I can suffer through forgoing the first class treatment for an hour of my charmed life.
I will always fly JetBlue. I am a fan. I want to have sex with their customer service skills and innovative ideas. read more
