I ordered a JET 10 specialty Pizza using their hot deal on the movile app. On the confirmation screen the specific type did not show up and I assumed it was correct when paying for the pizza. When I arrived to pick it up, I was given a All Meaty pizza which has many fewer toppings and is cheaper. See attachments. I should preface my review by saying that when it comes to pizza, I suppose I fit the "traditionalist" definition. I grew up in a Sicilian family and my grandmother made homemade pizza on the reg. Also, having spent my childhood and teen years in Western Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburgh, there was no shortage of excellent pizza and Italian food to be found. While I'm not opposed to trying different takes on the pie, I find myself always returning to classic Neapolitan for my pizza fix. So, I did react with a degree of (hopefully) good natured skepticism when a friend of mine who grew up in Detroit went into a state of near ecstasy upon learning that long standing Detroit pizza institution Jet's was opening a location close by. Detroit pizza is a bit of a amped up take on rectangular/square deep dish Sicilian style which can be hit or miss for me. At times, the crust can be too spongy and the grease factor can be high as well. Well, I've had Jet's twice and I'm pleasantly surprised and impressed! Both times, I ordered the 8 corner with bold/cupped pepperoni. I was advised that choosing the multi-topping options can negatively affect the crust as the toppings melt through and add too much moisture, taking away some of the crunch of the crust. So, the crust is really fantastic...just the right amount of crunch and chewy quality, and a minimum of grease. The sauce is an excellent melding of tart and sweet...it does veer toward being just a slight touch sweeter than I normally go for, but the offsetting tartness provided a rich complexity. The pepperoni was spicy and not overly salty which is a big plus, and just the right amount of Mozzarella was used. This is a very substantial pizza, and reheats extremely well. It's not going to replace my favorite Neapolitan places, but for a change of pace it's a winner. The place was super busy when I went to pick it up and staff seemed a touch harried, but they were handling the requests well. read more

This is a really solid pizza. I ordered a fully loaded rectangle pie. They don't overspice it and they don't use much sauce or grease so it's really good for anyone, like me, who gets heartburn from those ingredients. Fresh, great ingredients, good prices. Picked up some parm and red pepper packets and the smell all the way home, IN RUSH HOUR, made me want to pull ova! I consider myself a bit of a pizza snob and love pizza in many styles, I haven't found a place in the DMV yet that has totally knocked my socks off either deep dish pizza. I was excited to try JET's deep dish for Saturday night dinner. We ordered takeout the aloha bbq pizza (no bacon, sub green peppers), a garden salad, and cinnamon sticks. The pickup time was pretty fast for a Saturday night and when it arrived, it was very hot and looked great. I loved how the bbq sauce was drizzled all over the top. First bite was good, nice flavor combo and crispy, buttery crust. Second bite made me realize that my search continues I felt there could have been more pineapple and chicken specifically on the pizza, while it wasn't bad, I wasn't wowed by it. The salad was extremely disappointing it was iceberg lettuce haphazardly chopped with tons of olives, green peppers and red onions on top. My companion ate the cinnamon sticks and loved them. First time trying Jet's ... let's just say it's my new favorite pizza place! I got the Detroit Style Large Pizza Half Pepperoni and Half Cheese with Turbo Crust. The box is heavy when picking it up! The pizza was cooked perfectly too. Cheese to sauce ratio was perfect. The crust was crunchy but the dough was so soft and chewy. The premium cheese definitely hits home in the bite, tastes amazing! The turbo crust which is Parm cheese / Romano cheese and a garlic butter layer is phenomenal. Don't normally leave reviews but this place deserves all the flowers. If you are in the area and want a great tasting Detroit style pizza ... Jet's is your number one choice! Pizza was a 9.2/10 definitely will be back! Timing of food. We normally like Jet's and get it as a special treat. We ordered online and received a pickup time of 6:07 pm. I arrived at the designated pick up time. The food was not ready until 6:27!!! There is no where to wait and the cashier (both of them) seemed incompetent. The food is placed in a warmer and you have to ask the cashier, repeatedly, if your food is ready. The order number is not easily readable on the e-mail receipt, so it causes much confusion. The food has cooled appreciably when you finally get your order. Food needs to get out on time or change the pick up time on the receipt. This results in people standing in the extremely small entry sneezing and coughing on each other waiting 20 minutes past pick up time for food. Meanwhile people just keep pouring into the store expecting their food to be ready and having to wait. I have suffered through this process several times and will not do it again. Although good Detroit style pizza, Jet's either needs a larger location or better staff. Poor showing tonight!!! They also offer nothing to make up for the unreasonable wait times! read more

The pizza is amazing ! The crunchy and crispy corners add extra flavor to an already flavorful pizza. The ambiance is nice. You can see the cooks preparing the pizza as you walk in. You have the option carry-out or order delivery. You can also text your order and receive 15% off of your order! I chose to text my order and I got the 8 corner pepperoni pizza. I was told my wait would be 40 minutes. I arrived to pick up my pizza, and it wasn't ready yet so I had to wait an additional 30 minutes. I went to Jet's Pizza for lunch on the off chance that they sold pizza by the slice. They do! I walked in and was welcomed by the two men working. I explained to them that I had never been there, asked if they sold pizza by the slice, and if so what did they recommend. They do sell pizza by the slice and they recommended the Detroit Style. I got two slices of pepperoni. It was so good that two days later I drove all the way across town and got a large Detroit Style pizza for me and my wife.
