I only come here for salad and sandwiches. Always fresh and abundant ingredients. Never got disappointed!

The sandwich was really tasty and fresh. I didn't, however, care for the price ($13 for a turkey sandwich with a couple of toppings) and the lack of graciousness from the staff. I'm not going there for a conversation or a BFF and don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but I also didn't appreciate how my sandwich was practically thrown at me while the cashier walked away, as if my presence bothered him. I order from this place all the time and unless I go in and order it myself and pick it up, they always mess up my order for delivery. Countless times I have ordered a soda or chips with my meal and it's not included. I e-mail and tell them and never receive a response. Get the Monomoy. Hot Roast beef and som au jus? Gimme dat baby. I like to add mozzarella and tomatoes because I live dangerously, but there's something on the menu for everyone. Are you a rabbit? The salad is a homerun. Grand slam even. I have no idea what this dressing is made of, but I can tell you that it is what I believe God tastes like if he were melted. Tell your friends. I used to live in the neighborhood and went to Jettie's once when my Mom was in town. The food was okay and the proximinity and limited food options made this an okay place to go, besides that, it was always crowded with people so we decided to try. The French Dip was alright, nothing to write home about and her Nobadeer was good. I decided to try the place again about a year later and went with the French dip again because I was craving something warm. I got it to go and when I opened the wrapping I realized the bread was burnt to the point of being black in some places. I'd seen the sign inside saying that they closed at 8:30 so I raced back to get there (was around 8:15 when I left my house) and luckily I arrived at 8:25 only to find the door locked. I knocked on the door and after 3 tries, someone finally answered. I told them the issue with my sandwich and asked why they closed early when they're supposed to be open until 8:30. The chef says "The door says eight" and I say, "well sign right in front of my face says "dinner until 8:30". No apologies for bad food, no apologies for confusing hours, and no apologies for a rude chef who obviously thinks he's awesome despite working at a deli. I will not be back, especially after I've moved out of the neighborhood. Pretty sure the only reason they're still open is that there's nowhere else to go in the neighborhood. read more

1 star for the sub roll, 4 stars for the fresh veggies on the sub and the patio tables. On the negative side: The turkey was thickly cut and tasteless, the roll was chewy and tasteless, the prices, $9+ was not called for. On the plus side: The veggie toppings (lettuce, cucumber, etc) were fresh. Suggestions; Use better quality rolls, upgrade your meat quality, and lower your prices to $7 total after tax (turkey and cheese are extra/ as is the sub roll). read more

I really like the nobadeer. I like it enough that I haven't tried anything else at this place and I've been there a decent amount of times. I had always liked a good Thansgiving sandwich, but this has officially made the Thanksgiving sandwich my favorite sandwich. I may try something different off the menu eventually, but probably not. I would highly recommend that you or your friends go and try one. I can't really say much about the rest of this sandwich shop because I haven't tried it. I typically just grab my sandwich and go, but the outdoor seating seems to be nice and inviting. Inside can get pretty crowded at times, but they try to make the ordering process as painless as possible by letting you fill out a piece of paper with their sandwich options and then handing it to the cashier. read more

Great sandwiches, okay service. A little on the pricey side, but they use fresh ingredients and have some pretty interesting menu items. Good for a once-in-a-while lunchtime trip. My only qualm had to do with the service. Orders are made accurately and fairly quickly, but I get the vibe that I'm bothering the staff if I ask for extra anything, or want to make slight alterations to menu items for my order. The Nobadeer is by far the best sandwich i've had in D.C! I love getting Jetties from time to time. The price is a bit high but the sandwich is a one of a kind. It is also a great atmosphere if you go in to order. I recommend checking it out and finding the sandwich of your dreams! read more

My letter to management: first let me say, I have a service dog (and yes, she wears tags and I carry her Id with me). I've never been treated so rudely, ever, than I was by your staff at this location today. Upon entering, I had 4 staff members tell me you guys don't allow dogs. Not one person asked me if she was a service animal. I placed my to-go order, and told the girl at the front that I would wait outside since I was getting dirty looks from the staff. She said that was fine. I waited outside for 10 minutes and decided to go back in to check on my order (a surf side sandwich), because there was only one other person in line besides me when I placed my order. Upon entering, a different girl (Briana) said "you can't come in here with a dog". I told her she is a service dog, in which she rolled her eyes at me, turned her back and said "whatever". I almost couldn't believe the way I was being treated until my name was called when my sandwich was ready. Brian's refused to bring my sandwich over, so I walked over to her, once again rolled her eyes at me, and I even had to ask her to put it in a bag. I've never been treated that way. It's disgusting that you let your staff (I say staff because it was a handful with that attitude) treat customers that way for no reason, and it's scary that they don't know the laws regarding service animals. I will be writing a yelp review about this experience. And I won't come back to any Jetties in the future because of this. As a customer, if they can be that rude to a customers face, it really makes me wonder about what else is going on behind closed doors, which is why I won't be eating the sandwich I purchased. The only positive is when I called to speak to the manager Gabriel, who handled it appropriately in my opinion. Sad, very sad. read more

One experience at this deli, not likely to go back. The sandwiches are just ok and when you factor in the very expensive price, the combination leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We ordered a turkey wrap ($11) and a run of the mill turkey sandwich on sourdough w havarti and a slight amount of avocado ($10). Chips were $1.5 a bag and a 12 oz can of coke...$2! I am a longtime Jetties fan and customer but the service on a recent Sunday was wholly unacceptable. It took 20 minutes in line before our order was taken and another 10 minutes to get two sandwiches. A 30 minute wait for sandwiches at a "to go" shop is unacceptable. The problem seemed to be with the data entry/point of purchase technology, but management did not seem to care about the resulting poor customer experience. Loyal customers go away if such device recurs. read more

Not much I can add that others haven't said. But I'll even go one step farther: This is the best sandwich joint I've ever been to anywhere (the only sandwich I've found in this area comparable in quality is the Italian at A Literri, which I found thanks to yelp). I've had pretty much all the sandwiches at Jetties and virtually all of them have been stellar (Nobadeer, Surfside, Polpis, Smith Point, Great Point, and the new Club are my favorites). The ingredients are as fresh as it gets. The turkey is fresh and roasted, the bacon nice and crisp. As far as sandiwches go (and I love good sandwiches), this is as good as it gets. read more

Sandwiches, soft drinks and chips for four set me back over $60. I used to go to this establishment regularly but this was my first visit in over a year and I was tremendously disappointed. The trademark Nobadeer sandwich which formerly consisted of fresh carving board turkey slices, tasty stuffing and cranberry sauce on hearty sour dough bread was awesome! ! The Nobadeer I had today was tasteless. The turkey tasted like mushy processed meat delivered off the Sysco truck, the stuffing was tasteless, the cranberry sauce was mostly missing and the sour dough bread was of cheap store bought quality. The sandwich was half the thickness of the old Nobadeer and I also believe it is more expensive. I can only conclude that owner Bo Blair is now interested in the bottom line only and not in the quality of the food being served. My wife's Surfside sandwich was equally disappointing. It's true that the sandwiches are delicious (salads are too). I have been to Jetties a few times and I love the food. The service on the other hand has been less than great. I didn't have any questions or odd requests (just two Nobadeer sandwiches and some Nantucket Nectars).... The cashiers and kitchen staff are not friendly. They have awful attitudes. Great location with great good but I might just be waiting till my own Thanksgiving to have another turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwich. read more

Nobody makes a Thanksgiving sandwich like Jetties, nobody. Nobadeer is the stuff dreams are made of.

I agree with the five-star rating default sentiment -- "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" I, for one, am more of a soup-and-salad gal, so I really cannot write about the sandwiches (although, over the years, I have stolen a few bites of my husband's Nobadeer, and it is quite delicious). As for the soup offerings, the chili is phenomenal, as is the chicken tortilla soup -- both are hearty, perfect consistency (not too thin/watery, not too thick) and there's no skimping on the meats in the soups. The salads are amazing -- freshest ingredients and again no skimping on the quality ingredients -- cheese, bacon and meats in the salad are always way more than I can eat. My favorite salads are the Altar Rock (which for a few months of my pregnancy was a daily craving) and the Brant Point topped with turkey. Yes, you're paying more than you might pay at other delis, but you don't feel like you're getting ripped off -- and if you time it just right (3 p.m. lunch), you're not hungry for dinner b/c the portions are so huge. read more
