Delicious experience at Claudio's Table! The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was the perfect balance of attentive without being overbearing. Clara was a wonderful waitress! She made sure my birthday was celebrated in the most delightful way. There were so many dishes I wanted to try but didn't have the room for them. already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. Highly recommend!

Very popular place but I don't think I'll be back. I came with two others and we each ordered a salad and a main dish. I wanted the pear salad but don't like Gorgonzola so I asked if we could substitute it, otherwise I'd go for another salad. Our server offered goat cheese, which I love, so I said yes. Complementary focaccia was served but it was room temperature and seemed like it'd been sitting out, so the texture wasn't great. One friend got her salad, and after a while, they tried to serve my other friend her lasagna but she asked where our other two salads were. The servers looked at each other confused and took the lasagna back, then our main server came back and said they couldn't find the goat cheese so they forgot to follow up about if burrata worked instead. That was fine with me and we got our salads. (Side note, I'd recommend a different salad - the pear wasn't for me and the burrata didn't work well with the salad, plus it was a pricey substitution, maybe $5?) Unfortunately, and I regret not taking a photo, I took a bite and bit on something hard and was concerned - I took it out and it was a pea-sized piece of what I think was porcelain. I told the server about it and he said he'd tell the chef. He never followed up, and although I don't expect anything from the exchange, an apology or follow up would've been nice. We all got our mains after wrapping up our salads and we could tell the lasagna was kept in the oven, which is fine, but it was slightly burnt and super hot (my friend had to wait quite a while for it to be tolerable to eat). I had gotten the linguini alle vongole ("Seaside favorite with Little Neck Clams, Garlic, White Wine, Calabrian Peppers, Parsley & Breadcrumbs") but found it to be a bit oily. Overall a disappointing experience. The place was completely full when we left and I assume most there are return customers. It's cute inside and a decent location but with everything that went wrong, I can't recommend this place in good faith.

Our friends invited us here for dinner on a Friday night and my first impression was "wow, it's packed...and very, very tight!". Parking was hard too. It's very simple and very loud inside. Not something I'd pick again but our friends really like the food. Our server was friendly but a bit brusque at times and the whole dining experience seemed rushed and chaotic. We were seated next to the bar and it was overflowing so food runners and patrons were right next to us the entire time. The tables were very close to each other and we kept bumping into our neighbors when anyone got up. We all started with salads and they were very plain. My friends and hubby got the Caesar and liked it, and I got the mixed green salad...and that's all they literally were...romaine lettuce with dressing. Incredibly plain and simple for $10-12! The only saving grace was the main entrees. I got the arctic char and it was delicious! My hubby and friend had the veggie lasagna and loved it, and my other friend got the Margherita pizza and loved it. I had originally asked for the pesto special with shrimp, but the waiter said they don't add protein to entrees...they're served as is. Not sure why...? For dessert I got the pistachio lemon cake and my friends got the tiramisu. The cake was very good. My friend liked her tiramisu too. Not sure I'd go back here due to the noise and crowdedness, but maybe on a weekday when it's not packed. The food was good but nothing unique.

Spaghetti and meatballs absolutely yes absolutely good grief amazing! Small quaint restaurant a little on the pricey side for the portion size, but for it to go order, they were pretty quick!

What a cute spot. My bestie and I were in the neighborhood for a puzzling competition and needed to grab some lunch during break. We decided to take a walk and see what we find and we stumbled upon this cute place! We walked in and were greeted by the sweetest man. We were quickly sat and shown the specials which are written on a chalkboard on display for the entire restaurant. Even though it was relatively early, the pizza was calling my name and what a great choice! Honestly ,2 adults can share a pizza, but bestie and I like different things so we both got our own and had leftovers. It was sooooooooo good! I was so excited to even eat the leftovers the next day. The pineapple juice was also amazing and very sweet. I don't live near this place, but if I am ever back in the area I will be stooping here for sure.

It is such a cute place. A little bit difficult to park but street parking around the corner wasn't too terrible. Food-wise, I'm not too impressed by it. Vongole was too fishy, gnocchi alla sorrentina is classic so it can't be too terrible. Octopus was actually quite nice. I think this place isn't really for pasta but pizza was definitely a go-to. Server was very nice. We were group of 7 and he took care of us with amicable attitude with no-miss/mistakes on the menu. It was nice but I don't know if I would come back for the another try

Outstanding food! Calamarata with prawns, mussels, and clams was delightful. Delicious pizza and outstanding wine list. Tiramisu was soooo good! Amazing hospitality and service from all. Tables are close together but seem like the team did a great job with spacing people out. Simple decor but elegant. No complaints from us!

Definitely a nice new spot in the neighborhood. Lovely decor, although very loud inside so difficult to have a conversation when it's mostly full. Patio option is nice but will be much better when it's a real patio! I assume they have plans.... Food was excellent, the dorado/orata was outstanding, with a really nice mixed veg sautéed in olive oil and roasted garlic among other things. The lamb shank was falling off the bone, and thank you to the chef for making the entire dish dairy free. Food came out pretty fast too. I really like that they have pastas and pizza. But also really great other non-pasta dishes too. Great wine selection, and the cocktail I tried was excellent-the thyme and rosemary simple was intriguing Service was excellent, definitely recommend.

Came here specifically to try their pizza while on a #dcpizzatour and so while I have opinions on pizza, I generally write my reviews on the overall dining experience. Claudio's Table is a small neighborhood restaurant, so we made reservations for 7:15pm and rushed to get there timely. However, once there, we were encouraged to sit at the bar and wait...and wait we did. They were about 20-30 min behind schedule in seating us, and strongly encouraged we should just sit at the bar (a party of four, really?). What is the point of taking reservations if you don't actually reserve us a table in time? Poor management if you ask me. The bartender serving us drinks at the bar was not particularly friendly, helpful, or good at providing service. She took my order and then just left it at a distance on the counter. I wasn't even sure if it was for me or for a server to deliver to the table. What a rough start. Then we were finally seated around 7:45pm and by now a host of people have left. By 8pm the restaurant only had 3 tables left, which in my mind means I can finally have better service? Nope. Think again. The staff started cleaning up for the night and we struggled to waive a server, the manager was nowhere in sight, and we really ended up feeling like we were burdensome and should eat quickly and leave quickly before 9pm as the staff seemed to ready to leave by 8:30pm. Now, was the food good? Yes. It was delicious. Would I come back again? Absolutely not.

When I had ordered previously, I always found that my pie was not ready and I had to wait. Each time, I waited a bit longer, and each time, still not ready. So, this time, ordered my pizza before 9:00 PM and did not depart immediately -- but instead waited a full 20 minutes before even walking there slow. When I arrived, the pizza was..... still not ready. It occurs to me that this shop is situated in a time zone that is somehow TEN MINUTES BEHIND the time your order is due. The guy says "five minutes." In any case, I stand, I wait.... and I.... wait some more. It wasn't five minutes. Lots of workers standing. Nearing the 9:30 mark, someone finally says "have you been helped?" And whadda ya know? Found out the reason I was still waiting - BECAUSE MY PIE WAS SITTING THERE THE WHOLE DAMN TIME! Getting cold. She says "we're just getting that cut up." But they weren't - it was already cut. They took one of their old pies off the rack and slid it right into a box. It wasn't in the oven. I could feel it was cold, but yes, I took it and went home. I can't say you couldn't eat it but.... it wasn't good. We did eat some of it, but only after baking it in my own oven. Good thing I ordered in advance, eh? If you are going to do a take out here, my advice would be to skip ordering altogether, and just go there and get the slices yourself. They won't be too fresh, but at least it will be fast. Better yet, go across the street to Quincy Hall, (or over to Wise Guys) where they will bake the pizza to order and have it hot and ready when you arrive. Keep in mind here they charge $32 for a pizza, full price only. NOT worth it, won't be back, do not recommend.

Anyone who remembers this place from years ago remembers taking a number, waiting in line, and getting one of the best made-to-order subs in the region? The sandwiches were worth the wait. Maybe the parents moved back to Italia and the kids got stuck with the greedy landlord. Now its just a lazy we don't care overpriced landlord run revenue generator. 6 years after COVID and the subs are still pre-made dying in over stacked pile on the counter. The rolls are often soggy by the time they reach the customer, and the fillings are so thinly layered that each bite feels more like bread sandwich with some after thought what's inside. It screams KEEP THE COST DOWN. What was once a destination deli now feels like a place that's simply too tired to care. The decline reminds me of when DC bartenders traded free pours for jiggers. Less booze, higher prices, and a straight face while handing it to you 30 minutes later with a clever name like Adam's Apple. Same business model here. Less meat, more bread, and somehow we're all expected to clap. The saddest part is that it's still busy, largely because there are fewer and fewer alternatives. The independent mom-and-pop shops that gave this area character have been pushed out, and we're left with a shell of what this place used to be. At this point, I've had fresher and better-constructed subs from Harris Teeter. That's not meant as a compliment. When customers start comparing a legendary deli to a grocery store sandwich counter--and the grocery store holds its own--it's probably time for some serious soul-searching. Nostalgia can only carry a business so far. Unfortunately, the sandwich I had was living almost entirely on memories.

However, given that they ranked 32nd among this country's top 50 Pizza restaurants, I had to order a pizza. And I'll get to my pizza after I discuss some other things, because it all plays together. Also, during my visit, I kept drawing comparisons between this place and Pupatella, a local Neapolitan pizza juggernaut. The Big Question to answer is why A Modo Mio got a spot on the Top 50 while Pupatella didn't even make the cut. Access is easy, and parking is good. There are lots of spaces that wrap around the restaurant. That's in contrast to Pupatell, which has limited parking and where I always wind up using the Safeway lot across the street. The restaurant is clean and spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating. It also has a long, well-stocked bar where you can sit to enjoy a beverage or a meal. Pupatella doesn't have any of that. When you arrive, you're greeted by a host who shows you to your seat. A very short while later, a waiter shows up and does all the things waiters do. At Pupatella, you wait in line to place your order, then find an open table. TLDR: Your dining experience, outside of the food, is much more civilized and relaxing at A Modo Mio. The pie that earned their 32 out of 50 ranking was the Sicilia. But I ordered a 12" Casertana because I'm not crazy about eggplant and like sausage. The pie arrived a short while later, piping hot and loaded with sausage. The taste was sublime and delicious. My only complaint was that the basil was added before baking, and I prefer that herb when it's not reduced to ash. So back to The Big Question, is the A Modo Mio pizza *that* much better than Pupatella that it earned a spot amongst the Top 50 while the other one didn't even make the cut? Frankly, it's not. It is good pizza... possibly great pizza. But that's also true of the other place. What sets A Modo Mio apart from that other place, and the answer to the Big Question, is that the criteria for generating the Top 50 list included more than the pizza. It also took into account: - Hospitality and Service - Ambiance - Beverage Program. Beyond the pizza, A Modo Mio has those things in abundance, while the other place pretty much has none. TLDR: Comparing pizzas side by side, the two places are on par. However, if you take into account the entire dining experience, you will be much happier with your pizza here, as opposed to that other place or most other pizza restaurants in the DMV area.

First impression was that the pizza looked kinda "pale." All of them had a significant flop and no crunch. Sauce is light to the point I had to look deeper to see if they actually used tomato sauce. Some slices were also not cut all the way through...which kinda frustrated me, especially when hangry and not wanting to deal with extra mess or breaking out cutting utensils. Cheese was cheese...Hawaiian doesn't look anything like the pictures....more like a puny version of the pic they had. BBQ Chicken tasted good and brought back memories of the same offering at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) All-in-all, I think leaving the pizza in the oven a tad longer to develop that nice undercarriage would've made a load of difference. I noticed on their menu that this place serves-up all different types of pizza as well, including vegan style pizza. I haven't yet ordered a regular sized pizza from here but I plan on doing that, when the time is right. Everyone here is also very friendly, and they greet every guest who walks thru the door.
