You must try the fish tacos. It is obligatory. If you head to Jetty and do not try these (get the mango salsa as well), you are doing yourself a disservice. These things are addicting: light, crispy, delicious. They are on the smaller side, so I routinely order three (sometimes four). Wish I could speak to more of the menu, but every time I show up, I cannot muster of the will power to pass on those fish tacos. I have managed to try a couple of apps, though, and the results have been just as noteworthy. The patatas bravas are excellent: really crispy, always fresh and hot, have a nice kick and come with some awesome aioli sauce. Raw offerings (both oysters and little neck clams) have been on point. Drinks are par for the course. They do have a rotating beer on tap that they brew in house. Over the summer it is a wit -- not normally my style but this paired really nicely with the beach fare. Docking a star for some inconsistency with service. 95% of the time service is snappy and seamless, but sometimes there is a hiccup or two. Service can be on the slow end on certain days, even when it is not super busy (still well worth the wait when it is). Had an issue with miscommunication of what tequilas they had offered, which resulted in us ordering Casamigos only to find out from the bartender they do not carry Casamigos and that we were actually handed Patron -- something we kind of suspected when we tasted it. read more

This is the most stereotypical beach bar you can find. There's more white guys in tank tops than you can count with two hands. The girls are all sand blasted to all hell. The drinks are stiff and cheap. The Tacos? Well at $6 each you probably assume they'll be mediocre. Overpriced slag that people could shove down their throats at random hours of the night. You'd assume wrong, however, because the tacos are god damn fucking excellent. Granted I had just spent 5 hours at the beach and eat little more than fruit and chips, but the skirt steak and fish taco are well worth $6 each. Skirt steak - not overly cooked, and deliciously juicy. The fish taco somehow is even better: well fried with great seasoning. If you're really hungry, make sure you order 3. I can't recommend the others on the menu but you can't go wrong with the skirt steak or fish taco here at Jetty. It ain't classy, and the tacos ain't cheap but man are they good. Place is amazing!! Dj isnt that great and thinks he's so hot. Everyone here is 21-27. Plays boring songs 80% of the time. I always go for the lobster taco. Surprisingly for a beach town there aren't really many, if any options for a lobster roll in town. The Lobster taco is a nice option if you find yourself craving something like that. Had it here many times, summer, spring, fall, winter- always tastes fresh and I'm always happy I went for it. I would also highly recommend the fish tacos and the steak arepas. Both will hit the spot for sure. They use these pickled, bright pink onions that are just a delightful explosion of deliciousness. I don't like anything pickled and yet I find myself craving these onions and the dishes here that have them. I've ordered things other places that have a pickled onion on the menu in the hopes of coming close to hitting my jetty spot and it never compares. Love the Jetty for a quick bite. read more

Went here on Mother's day after walking the boardwalk. It was very good. Our waitress Michelle was awesome. Very friendly and she knew everything about the menu. Two weeks in a row we've come here for happy hour Two weeks in a row I've gotten surprise drunkey-stein and spent the following day in bed until noon This place is great - its completely redone since the storm, and they decided to revamp from how it was before and target a different crowd (think: previously we were into the drunk frat guys in sandals, now we're looking at drunk teachers and quasiprofessionals in nicer sandals) They always have a great happy hour, and their menu has a variety of different times of apps you can eat at the bar - which is all I've tried to date, but I plan on having a meal there AND brunch. I like how they converted where it used to be beer pong tables, to actual tables. the only thing I wasn't digging was how loud the music was - I literally couldn't hear my beefcake, and he was sitting right next to me. I went to Jetty for a late dinner and drinks with a friend on a Friday night. I honestly wasn't expecting much of the food but it was fantastic!! We both ordered the jerk chicken skewers and the flavor was incredible as well as the texture of the chicken. The chicken came with a sauce which was so good too. We also shared the Bahia salad which was a generous size with lots of avocado (yum). As for the drinks we ordered the carafe of red sangria ($18) and it was tasty but unfortunately pretty watered down and not strong at all. We definitely had the best service though, our waitress was super nice and attentive. Overall a really great place, I can't wait to go back! read more

Initially, upon entrance, the place seemed welcoming and nice, but as the night continued, after we ordered, my party and I received multiple nasty looks throughout the night. By the time we were leaving, we were overcharged by a significant amount compared to that advertised on the menu. We did not say anything rude, and respectfully paid the bill, despite the wrongful price, and were leaving. As we walked out, the staff, whom were giving disgusting looks throughout the night, decided to try and start a fight. A woman working chased my friend down the block land smashed his to-go cup out of un-precedented anger. Overall, the workers were extremely rude, and ended up using vulgar language and also had poor service. Do not go there if you appreciate respect coming from servers. Terrible experience. read more

My friends and I wanted a good "Taco Tuesday" meal in Long Beach, I used to eat at jetty all the time (stopped but I couldn't remember exactly why). So we went there for some drinks and tacos. It took a while for the waiter to come over but whatever. One of my friends (who is a really picky eater) told the waiter she did want any onions in her shrimp and chicken tacos and she does not like spicy. We order guac and chips under the "small plates" menu so obviously it was gonna be of an appetizer size, as all guac orders are, but it was in the tiniest of bowls and there were literally 14 chips. There were 4 of us! Two of my friends ordered the "taco salad" which was ground beef and miscellaneous taco ingredients. We thought it would be ya know... a salad in SOME sort of taco shell. Because who doesn't love a good taco salad? Well, it was a scoop size of beef and the ingreds, on top of another 14 chips. No taco, just the same lackluster chips we got with the miniature guac. Okay fast forward to my picky friends tacos... her chicken taco was spicy af and her shrimp taco had a hundred minuscule chopped up raw onion pieces in it. She barely eats the chicken taco, and tells the waiter about the onions in the shrimp taco. She asks for just a side order of rice instead because she was annoyed with the food. We also ordered two sides of beans because we were so unsatisfied. My tacos were alright, plus I'm not as picky and I'm a fatass. Anyway, we eat whatever else and then get the check (which also took forever), so the waiter tells us she took off one of the beans. But... we just told you the shrimp taco was no good. Why are you taking off the beans? My friend spoke to her about it and it was settled. At that moment, I remembered why I stopped eating here. Disappointing food, overpriced small portions, and mediocre drinks. See ya never. read more

My friend and I had the BEST time here. We were there for about 4 hours and didn't want to leave. First of all the service was fantastic. No shortage of help to go around and they were all very attentive. The owner was there and noticed from afar that our table was wobbling and sent someone over to fix it. The food was delicious as well. We had the mussels in a garlic and white wine butter sauce and some fish tacos. TO DIE FOR! It was a perfect cap to our beach day and had such a perfect vibe. I had a good experience the first time I was there last summer. Wanted to try it again. The food is good, but very small selection on the menu. What was bad planning on the part of the kitchen is that they were out of mussels at 7PM on a Saturday night (they have a delicious mussels pot which is one of their popular dishes). If the supplier didn't have quality mussels that day, you need a back up. I was so disappointed, considering I drove down from CT to eat there with friends. Moving on to the bar and jukebox issues that were NOT acceptable... 1) They have a touch screen music jukebox, you put money in, select your songs, and they NEVER play. It seems to do it's own random thing, and we sat at the bar after dinner for some drinks, and never heard our songs, so that was annoying! 2) As I was sitting at the bar, I kept smelling incense, was very bizarre. My friends smelled it too. It was very strong and caused my eyes to tear and started coughing. I asked one of the bartenders and was told that they are not burning anything. I knew I wasn't imagining it, so asked the other bartender if they were burning incense at the bar and was told YES, to cover up the back up smell from the sink drain under the bar. Was told that the manager advised them to move the incense to the other side not to bother me. So that was the final nail in the coffin for this place, if they are having sanitary issues at the bar, what's happening in the kitchen? Never again will I go back. read more

Simply one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Really! I love to try new restaurants and I usually don't write a review unless a place is over the top. Jetty Bar and Grill is over the top! Ambiance on the water is refreshing, the appetizers from the fresh oysters and Caesar salad were a great way to start and the Lobster Mac n' Cheese was simply mouth watering. I finished with a poached pear and drip coffee. Both were perfect, seriously, even their coffee was perfect. The chef has put together a unique and exciting menu and the wait staff is professional, personal and efficient. I can't believe I haven't ever reviewed The Jetty, since it is one of the bars I frequented the most back in the day (haha). Anyway, I've always liked the vibe here - it's definitely has a bit of a more chill vibe that some of the other bars on Beech. Also, I like how they do live reggae music on Sundays. They have a pretty substantial craft beer selection, which is great. I've eaten here a ton of times and I feel like the food is hit or miss - some things are good and others are mehhh, so I wouldn't come here for the food specifically, but for the vibe. The service is a little spotty as well, but whatever, I will still frequent! Night time is a different story - like most of the bars in the area, it turns into a bit of a club/pick up scene with dark lighting (to help all of you ugly folks out) and gets really packed with lots of bro dudes and ladies. read more

Came to Jetty with a group of friends for some dinner and drinks. We grabbed an outdoor table on the sidewalk to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Our waitress was very friendly and frequently checked in on us to make sure we were okay. Prior to coming, we called the restaurant to ask if there were gluten-free options on the menu since there were several people with gluten allergies in our group. We were assured that there were several substitutions that could be made to make the food gluten-free friendly. However, when we were ordering, we were told only one gluten-free option was available on the menu. Unfortunately my gluten-free friends didn't have a choice of what to order and got the vegetarian arepa sandwich. Although the restaurant is described as a tapas bar, there is a dedicated tapas section on menu. Because of this, I was under the impression that the other food items were entree-sized. I ordered a fish taco and a side order of yucca fries. The fish taco was delicious. The yucca fries were decent and were on the softer side instead of being crunchy. Since I ordered two dishes, I was satisfied with my meal. Some of my friends ordered the arepa sandwich, which was not on the tapas menu but was miniature! For a couple dollars more, the regular sandwiches were much larger with a side of fries. My friends were still very hungry after the meal and we got food elsewhere. We ordered pitchers of red and white sangria which were good. Overall, the food and drinks were pretty tasty but I would be aware of the mini portions and a limited gluten-free menu. read more

I like Jetty now...but I loved it when it opened. I feel like there isn't a crowd many times and the music is really loud so you can't speak. It used to be a little bit more fun but it has died down and even the food is just ok (it was really good before). I give it three stars because it's nice on an afternoon, maybe for a first date before it gets a bit of a crowd and music goes on. Also, the bar doesn't have a great liquor selection. And where the staff used to be attentive, now they forget part of an order and then say "oh you still want that?" Despite my complaints, there is one shining star that does keep me coming back is $2 Tuesdays. They have a pretty full selection on the food and I highly recommend the fish tacos and arrepas ( these are soooo good and have remained that way). Great deal.
