The difference with Sunset Foods is that they offer a lot of options, more high end, than the cheaper larger competitors. What you'll find at Sunset are departments with friendly and helpful staff. management that cares about its customers, and people willing to help at every turn of the store. Sure, I know I'm paying more for the same food and produce I can get elsewhere cheaper, but the quality is better at Sunset and the produce tends to last longer. I love the fact that as you bring your cart to pay, the management is there to guide you to an available cashier or a short line and then they empty your cart onto the belt. They help you to your car and even load your groceries in your trunk if you need the help. There are no other stores in our area (that I'm aware of) that have such great customer service. Lastly, one of the best services they have is that if they don't have an item you're looking for, you can let them know at customer service and they will get it in stock for you. Their customer service is unparalleled especially in how they go above and beyond to help you in your shopping experience.

Additionally, I did not purchase any bacon due to the price. I once went here and only one cashier was on the floor, with a line that extended to the back of the store. This is highly unacceptable for a store, unless you are attempting to push customers away, which in the long-run decreases sales--which no business wants. Also, with no one to ask or no supervisor around (Anthony, the store manager is the exception since he often talks to customers and creates a connection), the poor cashier can occasionally struggle--especially, with having to bag and scan at the same time while have to deal with angry and demanding customers alone.

I understand that stores can set their own policies and whatnot, but this was an item that had gotten family members incredibly sick. Disappointing and very frustrating of Woodman's. Last time that I will ever be shopping here again. Taking my business elsewhere where returns that make people sick can be taken care of.

I have liked the spicy Pork Rinds Chicharrones, Banana Nut bread, Garlic bread, spicy Hummus, certain sausages, skirt steak, certain frozen pizzas, certain beers among other things that I have bought here.
