I find the Jewel/Osco Brand to be very traditional American brands; With items from other places as well; that may be needed for the community. Kosher items. Baby items. Pharmacy. Large nice flower shop. Books/ Children's Books/ Magazines. Beautiful selection of Easter Bunny Cakes and many cakes. Many sales throughout the store. They had a DMV automated machine to renew your license plate/ registration. Renew your id, that's pretty clever and very convenient! Outside, hard shell small pools. Good for various things; pets, kids, sand boxes. They have ice machines, yard bags, lawn chairs. They need to not have it so full and so cluttered. But overall - clean store. Well stocked. This location is hands down the most consistent location. The service across the store is always great. They do have some good sales and recently have been on point to things people actually need. The service is amazing. The pharmacy is always fast and have the meds I need and make it easy for us to get new meds and approvals. They always ask about services they provide and when you see them around the store they always say hi. The hot food/deli area is always fast, clean and friendly. Produce is filled and clean and the meat area is always stocked and fresh looking. The customer service here is great. Forever will be a customer here. read more

Today was my third time in two weeks shopping at this store.Each time the deli was closed earlier than hours posted.When I asked a manager about this issue the reply was employees don't want to come to work.They work a few days and quit.As long as store is short staffed the deli will continue to close early.This is an inconvenience for me as I am only able to shop evening hours.Aldi's and Berwyn Fruit Market in the area and don't seem to have this problem.Also I noticed this store has more personal shoppers than regular employees and who seem to always be blocking the aisles.Done shopping here. read more

the management in this store either needs training or be replaced. the deli section only has one person serving customers while others are doing other tasks. when it's busy, you can wait an hour to be served. the manager should have employees stop to help. then they have grab and go lunch meat and cheese which I'll never buy. the employ cut the meat and cheese, package it up and leave it sitting on the counter. the cheese all sticks together because it gets warm. the health department needs to be contacted because of this, plus expired food on the shelves. I once told an employee that the Kimche was expired by 3 months and he said that all of them were expired. read more

Carissa from drive up and go was incredibly rude (tone was rude, rolled eyes, and yelled at me) with no costumer service skills whatsoever. I do the method, where I say ill be there at a certain time on the app, and I was there exactly at the time I said I would be, and she pretty much yelled at me saying I was in the wrong spot . I was in spot #1 as stated on the app. I do a few jewel locations, and this one takes the absolute longest (20 min) from when you say you're there. The code disappeared from my app because it disappears after 15 min or so, and Carissa kept arguing with me about how I need the code, and that I need to give her code and check in upon arriving (instead of using the pre check option on the app). Basically, she was gaslighting me in order to cover up the fact that my groceries were delivered about 15-20 min after I said I was there. I hope she can be retrained on how to speak to people if she's in costumer service. read more

I went today to get some things they had no carts so I had to grab a basket. It took me about 18 minutes to collect my items, but my basket was heavy and I forgot the salad dressing so I put the basket down walked down the dressing aisle to get the dressing, I was gone two minutes or less, and when I got back, my basket was gone All the workers that were there. Nobody wanted to help me. They all said they didn't see anything but they happen to be working right there which I find hard to believe.. this was the last straw. Jewel has gone downhill over the past eight years on a regular basis. I keep saying I'm gonna find a new store but I keep going back because it's so close but I really really am done now I could see if that basket had been sitting there for 15 or 20 minutes, but I wasn't even in the store that long for them to take my stuff is so frustrating and annoying and then trying to get help. Nobody wants to help you even though that's really what their job is, they seem to have forgotten that so very very disappointed in you Jewel and I will become a regular shopper elsewhere. Service needs major improvement! Drivers delivering cannot speak English and impossible to communicate with them that they are on wrong street deliverying my order. Frozen goods! Customer Service can't get in touch with driver once they leave the store. My original order did not include my frozen items so I had to re order them and then the driver didn't deliver to correct address and I could not communicate with him. Customer Service does not help your customers. After all day waiting for the one specific order to be delivered the best I get from them is excuses and "I will try to get it to you by 4:30! read more

I occasionally go to this jewels and buy chicken and produce , but today I went in and ordered chicken from the deli and asked the deli worker for certain cooked pieces of chicken , when I get home the pieces were different and not cooked at all the skin was stretchy and chewy not grilled or roasted. I've been a patron for over 15 years. I went today and bought some stuff and forgot a bag with a country crock tub of butter that I paid $7.00 and some change. I forgot it and went back for it. I was told that I couldn't get another one because I used the self check out and no one turned it in. I showed her the receipt with the item and time on it and the answer was still no. Said I can come back tomorrow and speak with one of the managers but none of them are working tomorrow. So why did she even tell me to come back tomorrow? Very unprofessional and no etiquette. Very disappointed with the staff there at this point. I'd rather drive to the LaGrange Jewel than the one in my neighborhood. They took all of the handicapped spaces on the other end of the lot to put the pickup & go spaces, so can't park there either. I guess it's just as well. Bought a cake tonight for my sister's birthday. It was marked chocolate and when we cut into it... it was clearly NOT chocolate but marble. When I called to speak to a manager, the lady Joyce first hung up on me and then when I proceeded to call the second time, she had the audacity to tell me to call back in the morning. Um no!! Been going here for over 20 years. The past two years the store has been declining rapidly. Seems that no matter when I shop here there are always pallets of groceries to be stocked - it's difficult to get around. The seafood and butcher departments always have a horrible odor. The deli is now looking dirty with the refrigerator display steamed up. The big rat box outside the store speaks volumes since upon entry to the store it's dirty and smelly. The parking lot is dirty and full of crumbling asphalt and potholes- it is exactly how the inside of the store looks. Carts are old and rickety. It's sad because there are few stores nearby to compete with this store. This Jewel needs to be demolished so a nicer grocery store can replace it. read more

A pretty awful place! They never have anything in stock, especially the items they have on sale. The shelves are pretty bare. They have, like, one person working the deli counter. Anytime you grab a number, it's going to be a long wait. Half the time, I just want to grab something to eat on my way home from work. I'm tired. I don't want to wait for 15 minutes. No salad bar/no sushi. The soups are always sold out. Save yourself, just go to the Berwyn Fruit Market. It's half a block away. read more

Several times items were not available. I only go here for last minute items because it's close to my home. Also I feel this store is very expensive in my opinion. They have a grand opening today but the only difference is they rearranged the isles. I don't see what the grand opening is all about. This place is a sorry excuse for a grocery store. Over priced everything. Hideous Produce. A very small what looks to be not fresh meat department. Go there you will see a gray steak or 2. One of the worst Jewels I have ever been to. Selection is terrible when compared to other Jewels I have shopped at. Employees are slow and rarely assist you; more likely to get in your way than help. The worst part is that for all the employees in the store there are only ever two check out lines open. I had to leave my groceries because the check out line took so long. read more

I have been going to this jewel for a few years. It's always a pleasure until I felt racially profiled. I went in the store and spoke to a manager about a sale and he identified the sale to be valid until the end of day. I tried to purchase something and was confronted and told me i can only purchase 12 items. Thinking 12 items of that product. So I minimized my order to 12 of one product. As the employee can back he told me that I can only purchase 12 items in total. I was trying to buy things for a party and they denied me my other items that were over 12. I've been going to this location for years but lately the service here is so bad. Not once but three times in the pass 6 months that the Deli Counter didn't have fried chicken ready. On April 9th, 2022, I noticed no fried chicken and so I asked the woman behind the counter how long, she states 10min. After about 10min of standing there, no one acknowledged me until I finally asked how long will it take. By this time, more customers are waiting. The older woman behind the counter said 20min (on top of the 10min I already had) I had enough of this. It's dinner time and you don't have any fried chicken available? I understand that they are full filling pre-orders but at least have some available for customers who just walk in. The Deli Counter here is a mess. I spoke to the manager of the store on duty and he was useless. Went to the Deli Counter and came back and told me the info I already knew. Normally I don't really have anything bad to say about the store, but Saturday night, 3/26, something happened that to me is just wrong. There was a sign by a display that read : Kellogg's Family Size Cereal, 17 -24 oz., Regular Price 6.49 each, Must Buy Multiples of 2, 3.99 ea, Mix & Match Save $5.00 on 2, 20.6 per ounce, So I grabbed Cocoa Krispies and Frosted Flakes. Both boxes said family size; both were within the weight parameters. For some reason I had a hunch that there was going to be a problem so I had the cashier ring those items up first, and as I assumed they rang up at their normal prices. The cashier called over a woman from customer service (which was right by the register). She just said that those cereals were not not included in the sale. I stated that there was nothing that said only certain items were included in the sale. She repeated - Like I said, those items are not included. She also said that it was "the second time I've gone through this today and I'm not going through it again," and walked away. There was nothing apologetic in her tone at all. Michael the cashier was very polite and courteous and apologized for the screw-up. (It's further stupid because the regular prices of the items were $6.49 or less which was the regular price posted on the sign.) So why/ how can a store put up a sign saying certain items are on sale, but then charge full price and say "Sorry. Even though our sign says that those items are on sale, they really aren't. We just decided to keep it a secret." Most people would probably not notice the error, or not notice it until they got home at which point they'd say screw it, and Jewel basically ripped them off. On top of that the "Customer Service" person either is in the wrong job or was having a bad day. Not the end of the world as far as complaints go, but it was a blatantly wrong thing for the store to be doing and certainly wasn't handled well. read more

This is the worst Jewel in the world! After taking 40 minutes to check out at 2:30 in the afternoon on a common Wednesday, not a holiday, not Saturday afternoon, a common Wednesday! I will do everything in my power to never shop at Jewel again even though it is only4 blocks from my house. I will travel 5 miles to Mariano's where they actually care about their customers. This was not an isolated incident either, just the last straw. They are consistently out of anything on sale. The isles are full of displays and skids of stock to the point that customers cannot get around. Constantly understaffed or miss-managed . This jewel NEVER has anything I need in stock and there is always some excuse. The best excuse is oh, we must have forgot to order it. The shelves are never fully stocked and there are big palates in the aisles it's hard to get through. I couldn't get ice cream because there was a big palate in front of the doors I could not move. I'm really tired of going there and the things I need or on sale are not on the shelves. Oh the shelves are never blocked as well so if something is on the top shelf I'm climbing up to reach the item in the back because of course nobody is rarely around to help you. It's very disappointing because this store used to be good. Whoever the manager is they need a new one. I have talked to other people and they have said the same thing about the shelves not being stocked. This has been going on before Covid. I will no longer be shopping at this store that I have been going to since 1995. Pretty sad. read more

While this Jewel has actually improved, I try to avoid it, as it is expensive and generally lacking in redeeming qualities. I was forced to go there recently for God knows what ....Wait, what was it? Sour cream....Gatorade....stuffing cubes..anyway. I walk into the bread aisle and am treated to a woman yelling: "THAT MAN PUSHED MY CART! THAT IS SOOO RUUUUDE! DID YOU SEE THAT? DID YOU SEE THAT MAN PUSH MY CART? THAT IS SO WRONG! IT'S THAT MAN RIGHT OVER THERE! IT WAS SO RUDE!!!" I did not see that HORRIBLE man "right over there," (he was likely pushing other carts out of his way like some ogre in a Lord of the Rings film, dragging his knuckles on the linoleum) but the whole gosh darn thing got me thinking....hey, I wonder if Old Yeller's cart was (are you ready for it?) BLOCKING THE AISLE? YA THINK? Is it possible that she was UNAWARE of OTHERS? FOCUSED ON HERSELF? REALLY? She was bellowing at the poor Jewel employee, who had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Employee glanced at me with the 'I do not get paid enough for this' face and I gave her the 'so sorry not your fault this chick is batsh**' shake of the head and moved on to....well, to anywhere else...suddenly canned green beans seemed genuinely interesting (and they're not.) So, Happy Holidays, Crazy Aisle Blocking Responsibility Shirking Lady. Hope not to see you in the new year! Prices on the shelf do not match prices at the register much of the food produce is rotten. People working there do not seem like they're playing with a full deck at all times the Osco drug is even worse the whole neighborhood in that area has become very bizarre and strange not a good place to shop not very friendly would not recommend neither of the stores read more

This jewel has terrible customer service. I go here often mainly because it's close to where I live, but I experience the same thing every time. The cashiers have their gossip session while checking me out they don't acknowledge me at all unless I ask them a question. At first I didn't mind but today I was over it. The cashier started ringing me up and putting my groceries in the gentleman in front of me cart. I advised her that was mine and she proceeds to have her conversation and move my items... Then the gentleman that she was helping in front of me had come back because she shorted him his change. When I got outside the gentleman she was helping stops me because he was given another one of my grocery bags when he came back for his change... I went to the Deli today at approximately 11:14 am.I frequently buy the bucket of honey wings.Today I was purchasing them for a few of my co-workers,the color was a little darker than normal,so I asked if they were fresh?Or were they overcooked?I have had my share of dried out wings.The deli worker became very huffy,do you want to buy them or not?Someone needs to teach the young lady some customer service skills,she certainly does not have any!!! read more

I'm shocked at all the bad reviews. I shop at this Jewel quite often and it's always clean and fully stocked. The bakery is wonderful and I order birthday cakes for same day pickup. The birthday cakes are always done perfectly. The deli ladies are excellent. I order beef tenderloins - special order at the holidays and the butcher has the tenderloin trimmed perfectly. I love this Jewel store and I have been shopping here for over 24 years. I highly recommend this store. I'm happy to have this store a few blocks from home. read more

Husband and I used to always shop at Jewel, religiously. Not anymore. I was excited to find a Jewel so close to our new home, but I was sorely disappointed. The Jewel is always incredibly crowded, no matter what time you go. It's nicely laid out and well stocked. It's just like any other Jewel around. I just hate hate hate how crowded it is. There are so many produce and grocery stores around and I choose to go to those instead of this Jewel. read more
