I bid this out and Brian (owner) was the only one that really took the time to come and look at the site and understand our concerns. He literally spend several hours explaining the systems, taking measurements, and just getting to know each other at our house before making an initial quote. I feel that buying a high end product, that it should come with a high touch service and Brian delivered on that. Brian was super knowledgeable and super patient in educating me and answering many many emails, volunteering good recommendations and breaking my incorrect DIY opinions of what home automation should be. I am a strong DIY guy and I threw a lot of technical questions at Brian. He spent a lot of time steering me in the right direction, and this is all before I gave him the business. We iterated on things for quite a few weeks. The other guys I talked to pretty much followed what I thought I wanted and really did not give much feedback even though it may not be the best thing for me to do. (i.e. I already have a consumer grade Lutron Caseta system in place , but the right solution for my wants is to go with a higher end Lutron system). The depth of technical knowledge about the product was just not there with these other guys. I got one other guy to quote the configuration Brian came up with, as I did not like their configurations. In the end I went with Audio Video Evolution. Some reasons 1) I got to know Brian in the process and I feel he is an open and honest guy. Just based on this I wanted to give him the business. 2) He is technically very knowledgeable and listens. 3) He was willing to price match which surprised me given the superior service he gave me presales. Brian's crew was awesome with the install. Very professional. You can tell this is a high functioning crew. They took their time to get things right, yet got the job done in a timely manner. The install looks gorgeous. BTW - Audio Video Evolution is on the recommended dealers list on Lutron's website. The most difficult part about the whole experience was waiting 10 weeks for the factory to make the Palladium shades and writing the check to pay for them. But in the end I am very happy working with Brian and would highly recommend them if you have any high end AV and shade work needed to get done.

I got to know Brian (owner) and his team (Anthony, Carlos, Rod, Chris, Justin and Logan) quite well over the course of a few weeks - and their service was 5-star all around. Professional and friendly. Additionally, Brian brought in 54 Electric (owned by John Pfieffer), who solved some very complicated electrical issues with grace - and they, too, were incredible. More Info on the Projects: We purchased our home and knew there some electrical issues we needed to sort out, as well as some AV stuff we wanted to potentially upgrade. - Electrical: We quickly found out that there were 3 different systems running outlets and light switches throughout the house - and they weren't communicating with one another. And as a result, many outlets simply did not work. And, not to mention, there were many hazardous and non-functional cables throughout the house. Solve: Installed a Lutron lighting system throughout the home - and addressed cable hazards. - AV/Theater: We had an outdated theater, as well as a multi-speaker home system that wasn't functional. Solve: Installed a new projector, screen and speaker system in the theater, as well as fixed the existing multi-speaker system throughout the house. Also, created an AV tower to hold all the different receivers/systems in a closet space. - Shades: We were looking to replace the existing shades in our home and were considering electric shades, but got a few bids that were super high. We were surprised that Brian was actually an expert when it came to electric shades - and gave us a much more affordable price estimate. Solve: Installed Lutron shades in various rooms throughout the house. - Control 4 System: With all the above, Brian installed a Control 4 System to operate it all from one place, including our lights, theater, shades, multi-speakers throughout the home, entry gate, thermostat and security cameras. We thought, yeah, this could be pretty useful at times, but we literally use it everyday and it's a complete game-changer when it comes to convenience. Price: We bid this project out to 4 companies. Two companies came in super high - and one was comparable to Audio Visual Evolution. But, we ended up going with who we felt most comfortable with and couldn't be happier with that choice. Overall: After several months, we're highly satisfied with everything. We've had a couple of small technical things that we weren't tech savvy enough to figure out - and Brian and his crew were super responsive and helpful - and didn't hesitate to come out to take a look or assist. 5-Star Service.

He only showed up to collect money. He left his incompetent assistant alone on the job who installed the 1st solar panel in the wrong place on my brand new roof. They wired the panels to the inverter and batteries so both are fried and not working anymore which will cost THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to replace. He took $5000 in a deposit which he WON'T RETURN. When I gave him the check, he said he'd email me the invoice which he didn't. I had to hound him for 2 weeks before he found the email in his draft folder. Then he sent his employee to measure my attic in the garage where he planned to install the inverter, but I don't have an attic in the garage. This same employee slept on the job on the roof. I have to go to small claims court to get my money back

He demanded I wire him the money immediately, with ZERO paperwork or formal documentation. Foolishly, I trusted him and sent the money with zelle right away--big mistake. Later, I checked their Yelp reviews (why didn't I do this sooner?!) and started seeing red flags about their shady business practices. I called Jim to cancel the work and asked for my money back. That's when he got angry and said he'd only give me a partial refund. Since then, he's completely ghosted me--no calls, no emails, nothing. This is beyond unprofessional--it feels like a straight-up scam. I'm furious and frustrated that someone would take advantage of their customers like this. I had a great experience with Clever Electric. I was looking to install a Tesla Powerwall 2 battery…read morebackup to complement by existing solar panels. I went to the Tesla site and found out that Clever Electric is a certified Tesla Installer. I connected with Clever (My Ngo) and a few other Tesla certified installers. I received a really good quote immediately from My. He also offered that if I took care of the permits, I could get a further reduction. Since his quote was already a couple of thousand less that the Tesla installation cost even with the permit, I decided to go ahead with him. I also realized that I could get a further $500 Tesla rebate if I could get the installation done in two and half weeks. I immediately connected with My on Sunday when I realized this and he picked up my call and assured me that he would help me as much as he can to get the installation done on time. I then proceeded to order the Tesla Powerwall 2. My came by my house and took a look at the installation. He then realized that he needed to do a lot more work than anticipated. He was very apologetic. I decided to do the permits myself. Within a week, I got the Powerwall 2. I filled in the paperwork for the permits - My helped me quite a bit there. And I was able to get the permit by mid next week. I connected with My for installation. He was very surprised that this got done so quickly. He was able to free up time for me right away. He and his helper spent 3.5 days installing it. The additional work was really substantial because he had to move a large number of circuits from one side of the house to another - going through the sub-floor, attic etc. He did an absolutely amazing job - he was very meticulous. He used absolutely high quality materials. The inspector came and unfortunately because of my misunderstanding, the battery needed to be moved about 12 inches. Note the battery is very heavy and difficult to move. My was very supportive. He came again the following Saturday with two helpers because of the weight of the battery. And they moved it by a foot. This took the better part of the morning. Finally he was there for the final inspection and made sure that the inspection went well. My was extremely supportive throughout this whole experience. His work has been of very high quality and is very conscientious. He did an excellent job with Tesla Powerwall 2 installation. He did not cut any corners even though the job was much much more than anticipated - I realized that based on the amount of time that My and his helpers spent on the job. He never once complained about the unexpected extra work. I would highly recommend My, he is very decent, dedicated person.
