I brought some gold jewelry in to sell and a pendant that I inherited after my mom died. I was offered $200 for the gold and was told the pendant was cz , even though it was set in 14kt with several diamonds. He brought it in the back to test it. I wasn't convinced that they were not diamonds . I went someplace else and got over $500 for the gold and the pendant was diamonds. He put a diamond tester on the pendant. They are either dishonest or don't know what they're doing. Or both. In fairness it wasn't geno I dealt with but he is responsible for his employees. read more

The pics and reviews I saw for this store are obviously someone who has a grudge! Geno is a highly reputable fine Jewelry store! He was rated as one of the too 10 jewelers in NY! He doesn't try to sell people instead he educates them then he tells them to chop at other jewelry stores. If they're looking for expensive engagement or wedding rings and compare. When they come back and they always do. he does not ask any other prices for other jewelers because he knows his quality and price are honest and fair. I have had many pieces designed by geno and often when I am in public I have had people come up to me that our actual jewelers themselves asking me where I got my jewelry. I know geno has a machine that Tess for diamonds and moissanite many times people believe moissanite is a diamond and if they take it somewhere else most stores pawnshops don't have a Moisen tester so it will test as a diamond, even though it's not. I'm sure that's what happened with that person who complained on yelp. Yelp can be dangerous at ruining reputations of businesses that are well established. Most people don't go on yelp to praise accompany only to complain. I took my water resistant to 300 meter watch to Geno for a new battery. It would be it's second new battery. The first was done by a watch shop at the Broadway market. After getting the battery I want swimming as I do about 3 times a week. The watch filled with water and stopped working. I took it back to them and was told that water resistant didn't mean that it was water proof and that I shouldn't put it in the water. They kept the watch for over a week and when I picked it up it still didn't work. The leakage was caused by the watch cover not being reinstalled correctly. They obviously don't guarantee their work all watches since they didn't on mine. read more
