This is a lovely restaurant in a terrific spot by the water. It's upstairs so leave an extra minute to find the entrance. The menu is Mediterranean and the food is really tasty. We especially loved the whipped feta with vegetables and yummy crunchy crackers. We also liked the unique cocktails and enjoyed pasta and vegetables. Our server was nice, too.

It's an interesting menu. Delicious. Fun. Jennifer was fantastic. If we lived here, I'd put it on our regular rotation.

The Lazy Goat is always a wonderful dining experience. The view of the River out the windows is glorious. The restaurant ambiance is nice and comfortable, and the service is top notch. We started with a delicious Brussels sprouts appetizer, and a bread board. I had the Mediterranean Prawns entree while my wife had Lamb Pasta Tagliatelle. Both were marvelous. The we finished with Tiramisu. One of our favorite places in Greenville!

In June 2025, we attended a Principles First dinner event at The Lazy Goat, and the staff did a wonderful job at taking care of a large group. With about 60 attendees, we filled the room, and the food spread was fantastic. We didn't run out of any foods, and we had plenty of silverware, napkins, and plates to enjoy the buffet. The view of Downtown Greenville's Reedy River was beautiful. The cheese and charcuterie were excellent, but my favorite item was the fried goat cheese balls. My husband really liked the meat skewers. I didn't have a drink, but the bar had quite a few beers on tap for those who chose to partake. The desserts were rich and delicious. The restaurant is attached to the Hampton Inn hotel, and the parking garage is next door, with only a $10 charge. We parked across the street and paid $9 for a surface lot for a few hours, so I would recommend the garage if you plan to be there for more than two hours. Lazy Goat is a GREAT option for an event in Downtown Greenville, and I hope our group will have them host and cater for us in the future.

The service was amazing! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. Highly recommend.

Bartenders are on point, so order away. The goat cheese balls come smothered in a special honey, which is amazing. Ask for some red pepper and you'll be kicking like a goat with joy. You overlook the river, so the ambiance is perfect.

Wow, wow! If you ask the average person in Greenville, what their favorite restaurant is, many will shout THE LAZY GOAT!!! I was reluctant to buy into the hype... however, it's WELL deserved. The service and selection was stellar. You will hear people rave over the goat cheese balls. Their reputation proceeds them, but honestly, I don't think that they are a "must order". I had many other dishes there that are far more worth ordering, such as... *The Lamb (starter) * Brussels Sprouts * Tahini Caesar The Wine list is very extensive, and access to a top-tier sommelier is great. We absolutely adored our server, Nicolas who made our experience as fun, festive, and informative as could be! My only "note" to management would just be that besides the natural setting (the perfect Reddy River), the indoor ambience is SO lackluster. The restaurant could really stand to have an aesthetic revamp. And I hate to comment on the interior of the restrooms since it is seemingly so obsolete to "restaurant review," but I simply feel compelled to comment. The restrooms are barely a step up from a public pool/beach bathroom shack. Too harsh? No, must be said. Nonetheless, I cannot wait to come back and highly recommend everyone try this GEM of a restaurant (just pee before;)

The food is always so good here. My husband and I each got a pasta, the flavors in both were fantastic, although I liked his pesto one a bit better. However mine was still 10/10! My mom got 3 appetizers as her main dish. She got the goat cheese balls which are fantastic with a honey drizzle and pistachio crumble. She also got the fries which come with truffle oil and shaved cheese (chefs kiss), and the hummus which she loved! She can't wait to visit us again to come back here! The interior has a floor to ceiling glass wall overlooking the river. They have a patio if you want to eat outside. When you enter you are in a small lobby with a host stand and then they lead you down a grand wooden staircase to the main dining area.

Finally got to try The Lazy Goat for lunch today. Wow, so good. Server was great, very fast and attentive. Sat on Patio. We did reserve a table. We ordered the Moroccan Lamb with pita (had to order more pita) Fried Goats cheese with pistachio's, Truffle fries. All delicious. We all (party of three) ordered the Lamb Burger with fries and the apple and fennel salad. All delicious and nicely cooked lamb. Would recommend and will be back one day

Cannot say enough great things about the overall experience here. Every now and then you come across a place that understands what exceptional on every level looks like, and the Lazy Goat gets it! The reservation system must have my birthday because when we got to the table a "happy birthday" card was waiting for me which was incredibly thoughtful. The server came right over despite it being busy already (had a 5:45 reservation) and our drinks came out promptly. We asked for some recommendations and told him what food allergies we had and we picked several items he suggested. The truffle fries are unreal! They're not overly oily, they're thin cut which is how I like them, and the amount of truffle was perfect (not too light and not overpowering). The ahi appetizer which I ordered for my dinner was DELICIOUS with the right amount of acidity but with a delicious fatty base which balanced the light fish dish very well. The sausage flat bread was huge (could easily be shared with 3 - 4 others as an appetizer) and extremely flavorful and filling. To top it off, most restaurants will bring you a run of the mill desert when it's your birthday, which is always an extremely kind gesture. This place gauged its audience well and brought a celebratory glass of champagne as my birthday amenity! Sadly, we are only here for two nights, and we already have a reservation at another spot we were told to try out, otherwise we'd be back at the Lazy Goat to try more of the menu. I already texted several friends back home in North Carolina so I think between my boyfriend and I and some friends, we will be back here for sure! Things to do: * Go early if you can and get a reservation - we went on a Tuesday night, and it was packed by 6:30 PM * Ask for a table for a view - if they have it available, you won't be disappointed and if you're there before sunset you'll have a great view of the river * Trust your server to recommend great dishes - ours did and we loved all of them * Try several things, even if it's just two of you and you know you'll be taking things to go - trust me, it's worth it! * If you like a medium red wine (not too bold but with some meat to it) try the Borsao 'Berola,' it was perfect!

The lady started friendly but seemed cold when I looked at iPad to review the bill. We ordered 2 sandwiches- 1 gyro and 1 shawarma. It CLEARLY on the menu says it comes with a side of fries, Greek salad, hummus, pita etc. Nowhere does it mention an up-charge for anything. I saw it said +$2.50 for each of the sides we asked for with the sandwich. I questioned this and she gave me a face like "how dare I question?" And just said "nothing is included with Sandwich, even fries". It literally contradicts what is on the menu! She said she'll tell her manager. Anyway- that was weird. Also, on the mixed grille it came with the tiniest pieces of pita, almost offensive, given the price. The entrance feels nicer for a take out place with the fake plants on the walls, but the back is closed off and the bathroom is dirty. Overall, I'd really only go for take out. And know they're cheap and will nickel and dime you.

We've had some good food here but we have missed kabobs etc. We got the Mixed Plate for Two which seriously had almost everything on the menu. The first things brought out was the Hummus, Baba Ganoush with Pita. The Hummus was delicious and I was so surprised by the Baba Ganoush. It was very different from what I thought. It was delicious! Then came the HUGE PLATES of food. Greek Salad, Chicken Kabob, Jerusalem Kabob, Lamb Chops and Rice Pilaf. Wow! Everything was delicious and flavorful. The chicken was seasoned well and tender. The Jerusalem Kabob was perfectly seasoned and the Lamb Chops were cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The rice was different than I was used to, it had raisins in it. My husband doesn't like rice but couldn't stop eating it. The young man helping us was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be back!!!

We stopped by on our way to ATL for an early lunch and to try this famous spot known for big and fresh flavor. We got there a bit before everything was available but we still opted for the beef plate with humus, vegetables, fresh potatoes bread and a salad. The pita bread was hot out of the oven and was amazing alone or wrapped around tender well seasoned beef and hummus. The gentlemen that took our order was so kind to answer all of our questions and tell us about the family business, and recommend mint tea and spices to try. He even gave us a dessert to try, cashew fingers! Very delicious and light. When we finished and started to leave, I pulled out a few dollars for a tip. The older gentleman stopped by the table and insisted we not leave a tip and was happy we enjoyed the food. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu and to say hello to this amazing family owned business.
