I came here because of that Travel Thirsty YouTube channel. It was a good choice. Delicious food especially the Central Asian dishes. I ordered the Classic Lagman the Manty both fried and steamed and the Lamb Plov. All were good but my favorite was by far the Lamb Plov. Perfectly seasoned, not too sweet. My God if I had enough money I would eat that everyday. The Manty dumplings were awesome too. Very juicy and tender filling with really good seasoning. I also loved the tomato salsa-type dip that came with it Lagman toppings were really good, but if you are used to Uyghur noodles you might be caught off guard by the noodles. They are slightly eggy and fluffy (maybe Kyrgyz style?) while the Uyghur style is more chewy. It's not bad at all; in fact it's really good but be sure to expect something different in terms of noodle texture. I absolutely will be back. Service was great too. I've been to this location already 5 times. And there is a reason we are still coming back - delicious food!! We love this place for food. Unfortunately the only reason why it's not a 5 star review because every time we come we wait 45-1 hour for food. And most all the time they forget about some orders. Plus we would like waitress at least to pay little more attention on us. The best experiences we've had with bartender when he was serving us. Great service with him. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful as all of the interior was shipped right from Kyrgyzstan. It gets a lot of buzz so naturally I brought my grandma here to have some authentic Kyrgyzstan food. The food definitely has improved and I have no complaints there. It is just such a shame that customer service is still the worst. You would think that with the restaurant being popular the management would pay more attention to how the customers are treated. We were sat by a nice host who was considerate and brought a high chair. No one greeted us or got our water for the first 20 mins. Mind you that the restaurant was not busy and had servers standing around. The table next to us was sat 10 mins after us and got their food and drink orders taken. Finally the bartender came to fill up our water glasses. There was no greeting. I told him we were ready to order. He didn't seem like the type of a person who should be working as a server because he was so shy, wouldn't speak up or even look at us while talking. No one checked in on us during the entire dinner. I had to get the server to ask for the check. Anyway, I just hope that the management can focus more on training their staff than pointlessly sitting at the bar staring at their phones and pretending to be doing something important. read more

Vegetables where off the hook speaking of off the cook my entree was several cubes of prime cut tenderloin hanging vertical on a skewer hanging from a curved hook perpendicular to my plate. In simple terms because I couldn't, pronounce the names of the various dishes we had steamed pot stickers baked dumplings Pirogies, and I still taste the crispy eggplant. We shared other foods but I was in a heavenly drift of tastes and aroma's! Can't say enough about this restaurant they are one of the best choices I been to in several years 4 of us where treated as if we where royalty Service was first class beyond expectations very attentive staff can't say enough about them on point! This restaurant really branched out in the Chicago area in the past 2-3 years, and I am happy it did! Now I can reliably have a great high quality restaurant where I can celebrate holidays and to invite friends and family to celebrate birthdays and holidays! I think its Glenview location is even better than its previous location in Chicago, although it was great as well. My wife and I got very sick shortly after we ate at Jibek Jolu. It was the only meal we ate together that day. The food was very tasty but unfortunately because of the severe illness, we will not be back. In the middle of a sterile suburban shopping area, this is clearly a destination for people from the former Soviet Union, judging from what we heard at surrounding tables. We had a mixture of good and bad food. The solyanka soup was quite tasty and novel. The cheburek was very good although we have had better in Queens. The manty were fine, not as small as pictured on the web; but not so different in taste from Tibetan momos or Chinese dumplings. The real stinker was the lamb plov, dry rice topped with separately cooked, partly black, dry and overdone pieces of lamb meat, cut in sharp edges after cooking as though with a butcher's bandsaw. Since we did not agree to order immediately after sitting down, they gave up and went away and were hard to flag down again. At the end, even as we paid the bill, our plates were never cleared. (Admittedly I barely touched the inedible plov and they may have thought I was still eating it; but all other plates remained on the table also.) read more

1 star for customer service. We decided to leave a review so the owner knows how regulars are treated. We made a reservation for party of 8. When we arrived , the hostess Alexis told us we had reserved a table outside, even though there is no option to book outside. It was cold, dark and obviously not a reasonable time to be seated outdoors. We requested a table inside since we made a reservation correctly but hostess Alexis kept arguing that we booked for outside and that they don't have place for us. After 15 minutes of arguing the manager came ; he was very polite even tried to make excuse Alexis' poor behavior and promised us a table inside and asked to wait for another 10 minutes. After another 20 minutes we still didn't have a table and when I asked Alexis to check on it she lied again and yelled at me that no one promised us a table! She literally made me ask my friends if anyone else heard Her Manager. How rude and unprofessional is that? We also told her we have kids and pregnant women in the group but she didn't care and kept yelling at us in front of the kids and other customers. I hope she will get an appropriate customer service training or change the job she does. It's unacceptable to treat customers like that . Other staff members apologized for her but she didn't. So almost an hour later we got a table inside and thanks to Diana we got our order ready and served. We are not sure if she is a waitress or administrator but she is definitely a professional in her job and just a nice person who respects others. 4 stars for the food. The food was good as always. We come here at least once every other month or order take out every other week. I highly recommend Manty and Beef Shashlyk. They also have a nice wine cart. We noticed they started serving old bread more often and this is kind of a downside , we would rather pay extra but get fresh bread since it takes a while for most of the dishes to be cooked and served.
