This is the best place to find Eastern European cuisine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially with guests who are not familiar with the Russian names of dishes on the menu. My personal advice is to order their Caesar salad, it's just amazing, I finally found guys who make it with the right sauce and not mayo. The snacks are also good. Bring your friends, especially if they want to try Russian food. Oh yeah, the reviews below are absolute lies. Ordered a DRYGin Martini, it came as a dirty Martini, then reordered it and it came with sweet Vermouth, Refused to correct it and charged me for both drinks. Ordered 2 dinners and they brought 1 dinner and thew it on the table and left, after i had to chase down the wait staff to find out where our dinner was. There were only 4 tables with people at them, and 3 wait staff, which 2 were playing games on there cell phones. Then they charged me for 2 meals and argured with me about the meals, and then charged me 18% on the bill for 2 of us, portions were small and overpriced. The food was cold and poor, presantation. The borscht was good and the bread and butter was very good. The Caesar salad was ok....it had one quail egg and about 4 thinly sliced chicken pieces. The dressing was quite good and you can really taste the anchovy but not over powering but the price of almost $20 for it was outrageous. We also ordered the fish dumpling which was good but again, overpriced for the portion. The waitress was ok and explained the dishes for us. I would go back again for the borscht because it was good but that has to be when I'm really craving it or until I find another spot. I was really happy to hear another Russian restaurant is opening up in the area, but.... Cons: 1. Powder mashed potatoes and extremely watered down. You can tell they weren't really potatoes. 2. Portion sizes were 50-70% less than you think for the price you're paying for a restaurant in a plaza. Kompot for $3.50 should be bigger than a kid's water cup. 3. No booster, high chair or crayons for kids 4. No butter for bread even after asking 5 times. 5. Marinated shrimps were over cooked by 2 hours after they were already cooked. When I pulled every shrimp from its head, it just broke up, it didn't come out. Very rubber like. Pro: 1. Atmosphere is what you expect in a Russian restaurant 2. Menu is 100% Russian and very cool 3. Plates and cups are traditional 4. Chicken kakleti and chicken Kiev was very good. $86 for 2 entree (chicken Kiev and kakleti), 2 soups and 1 kompot with tip. read more

Bad service and definitely overpriced. I ordered Napoleon cake and a cup of tea. Cake was really sour, I never tasted anything like that - I don't know if it was sitting out for too long or they put something in it, anyways, I couldn't eat it. On top of that I had to ask for my tea for 3 times! How hard is it to bring a cup of hot water and a teabag? They also included a tip(18%) in a check without mentioning it. This.new restaurant in Buffalo Grove is definitely worth a dinner out. The cuisine is Eastern European and is delicious. I love the ambiance, the weight staff is very friendly and informative and I absolutely love the hats they wear. The cornish hen dish is very good and I loved the sausage and onions appetizer. If you are looking for a place with delicious European food, 12 chairs would be your best bet. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with live music, furniture, bar, and decor. The food is delicious, I would recommend getting the Chicken Kiev with mashed potatoes. The borsh at the restaurant is unbelievable, probably the best I've ever tasted. The live music great, with many customers getting up and going to dance. The staff is very friendly and deliver great service to its customers. This restaurant is a great dining experience. The atmosphere and food and beverages are excellent! The food is Eastern European , the wait staff is very knowledgeable about the food preparation. There is entertainment on the weekends which was enjoyable. I've been there several times and two of my favorites were the Pork Knuckle with sauerkraut and Cornish Hen. Great place with very friendly staff. The restaurant has live music and a very live atmosphere. The European style cuisine reminds me of my childhood, such as the borsh that they have.
