They diagnosed the broken coolant tubes, repaired the exposed tubes and the car would not re-charge. At this point they advised us that it would need a new battery and they would advise making an insurance claim to total the vehicle. 2 months later, we were denied our claim as Rods is not a certified Tesla shop based on both the insurance company and Tesla's own recommendations. We moved the car to another certified shop in town who will not diagnose since Rod's looked at it first and they won't take the liability. In the meantime, Rods charged our insurance company for storage fees while we, not them, battled with insurance and Tesla. We are left storing the vehicle at our home while we try to find a shop willing to diagnose our vehicle and paying for a replacement vehicle out of pocket. Do not trust this company with your EV under any circumstances. We will be contacting the better business bureau as well.

Rod's found an oil leak. They actually take pictures as they are working in the vehicle so they can educate the customer. There is a video on their website and I learned that this is a family business based on HONESTY. That speaks volumes to me. They reviewed the items that the dealer completed at 30k but also recommended an additional item (something that will prevent possible future issues). Easy drop off/pick up before/after hours. Nice waiting room with snacks. Convenient location. We didn't need one but apparently they have loaner vehicles. One thing I really like is that Brittany made us feel like they will be supportive if we have any issues when we go Back to the dealer for the warranty repair issue. They repaired/reconditioned my Prius Hybrid battery about 23 months ago, but a few weeks ago, the dreaded trifecta of warning lights and fault codes reappeared, letting me know that the computer believed that the battery was kaput once again. For cryin' out loud, the whole car only has 460,000 miles on it -- I am determined to get it to 500k! I took it back to Unlimited Service, and they told me that because I was just within my 2 year warranty, they would take it apart and fix it for free (at least all of the components they had worked on, 23 months ago). I did not know that I had a 2 year warranty (I thought it was more along the lines of 90 days or $90). They had to remove and disassemble the battery again, replace some cells, and rebalance things - no trivial task. That was all covered by the warranty (yay)! So I don't usually write reviews, but I feel it is necessary in this case…read more I originally had my car towed to Joe's Automotive as my car battery was drained(0.01V display from multimeter), I recently just installed a new alternator, brand new terminals/connectors for the battery, and a remanufactured starter. All the attempts to start had drained what charge was left from the battery, and I suspected the starter was bad and possibly draining the battery. To their credit they got the car started, but the only change was slightly different cable angle on the starter & alternator, and severely damaged battery terminals that look like they have been smashed in with a hammer, and tightened so tight that they can no longer be removed. I took before and after photos of the engine, and these are the only things that were altered, so I can only determine that they charged my battery successfully and slightly changed the angle of the battery connections, and then smashed in my terminals so they could no longer be removed. I was then charged $280 for this privilege. The only saving grace was that they also confirmed the starter was bad, which I thought was the case anyway, and once I swapped out and reinstalled a new starter it functions properly. (The starter ended up melting the testing device used at the location I bought the starter...) TLDR: They recharged my battery, shifted cable placement, smashed in my battery terminals so they are now permanent battery fixtures, and charged me almost $300 for that amazing service... Edit for owner response: Which specific wire are you claiming to have melted? There are only three wires/cables that connect to the starter, the positive battery cable, the starter solenoid wire, and the negative battery cable to ground. None of which were replaced OR melted. Do you have any pictures of these melted mystery wires? The bolts were also not tightened to the point that the report claimed, as my wireless ratchet wrench is not physically capable of tightening them to that degree, as it automatically stops when it meets resistance. It cannot overtighten things. The alternator was also installed correctly, there are only two connections to the alternator and both were fully connected and in the same locations before and after pickup. "would never damage parts of the vehicle to get things back on." My mangled battery terminals beg to differ, as my attached pictures can attest. They were brand new and installed that same day actually, not a scratch on them until they were brought to you guys. The damage didn't just magically appear on its own.

The car was diagnosed and I was giving a list of repairs and time frame. I was told to pick my car up at 4pm the next day. I arrived at 4:15. It was not done and was still in the air being worked on. I ask when I should come back and was told about an hour. I called about 30 minutes later and was told it's taking longer then expected. Everything up to this point is fine. Simple mistakes. Lake of communication. 4 out of 5 stars. Things taking longer then expected is fine as well. But when the owner of the business started to get upset with me is when the ratings starts to drop. Saying he doesn't have a crystal ball and he is going out of his way for me. Staying late to finish the job. Then I'm told they have the wrong part and Its going to be finished tomorrow. They did not stay late. When I asked if he has done this type of work before his reply was every a day all the time. But he can't give me an estimated time. "I don't have a crystal ball" OK after talking to the owner of TK Automotive Repair I was told I was going to "get my car when I get it when its done and fuck off". Asking me "now what, what do we do now". My response was fix my car. He was the rudest small business owner I've met. I'm still a little bit in shock. Did he really say fuck off. Yes he did. Then he started yelling some more about a crystal ball and told me to fuck off again. After this he said " I'm calm, why are you still upset" Then demanded to know what we should do after making me wait three days to pick up a car that should've taken 2 all the time getting upset with me.
