HORRIBLE service. I have been a loyal costumer to Jiffy lube throughout CA and this is the first time that they first of all require me to get synthetic oil for my car. I know that it is better and normally I bring my own synthetic oil but this time I had forgot to bring it so I told them to go ahead and just put in the regular natural oil. They first of all refused and said that they were going to charge me a total of $80 when I was informed of this and said that I would come in tomorrow with my own oil (because it is cheaper) they said I could not do this because they had already drained the oil so if i wanted to take my car it would be without oil. When I said that I have never sign to consent for this they said that saying "i need an oil change" is consent enough. Last time I checked they needed a legal signature before they could start doing the change. Pretty much I got screwed over and had to pay way more then expected, AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

Not worth the money. Go across the street to Big Brand Tires. I went to Big Brand a few months ago and got the same service done (tire rotation, oil change, and filter replacement) for half the price I paid at Jiffy Lube. I even paid for better oil at Big Brand and it still came out cheaper. I only came here this time because I thought it would be faster, but it wasn't. Everyone knows that having to get something done on your car is just a hassle. It's expensive, time consuming, and you never know what your car service person is actually saying. However, this jiffy lube is different. The staff is super friendly, it's cost effective (especially with the awesome groupon deal I found out about), and fast. I got my oil changed, in and out, in 20 minutes. The staff listened to what I wanted and broke down all the technical jargon into normal words. Vacuumed my floors? lies Washed my exterior windows? lies Searched through some business papers on my front seat. YUP Tried to sell me windshield wipers when mine were brand new YUP. After reading other reviews tomorrow I'm checking to see if they really changed the filter and tightened the drain nut. I feel sorry for the people that come here and know nothing about their own vehicles. never coming back here. These guys keep it real. Came in to get a quote on brakes and an oil change. Everyone was honest and helped me out. Mario did a brake check and let me know that noise would be annoying since I had a heat spot on my rotors but that I could run them out for a while longer if I was worried about saving money. Decided to run them out a bit longer and will definitely be back to Jiffy Lube to change my brakes and rotors. read more

I came to jiffy lube for a routine oil change and they showed me that I had an oil leak (it was ALL over). They offered to repair that for me as well and after researching pricing online, I found out that they were right on the mark. After telling them "I just want the basic oil change" I some how got the "Premium package". When I asked about this at check out, she told me "it was on the screen when you signed the estimate". Watch out for the upsell here - they are working it HARD. They told me my oil was really low and I should get the engine flush. Next person in the door had too much oil and they should get the engine flush. Be very specific what you want and say NO to everything else they mention. read more

I have taken my car here a couple of times now and I have been pissed off every time I have left. They always try to get you to buy more services than you really need because they don't update their system for your car. Today I took it in and everything was normal, they tried to sell me more than I needed and I told them what I wanted and they did it. I go out to my car when they were finished to find the two front windows rolled down. I was confused because the driver's side window gets stuck 1/4 of the way when I roll it down and the only way to get it all the way down would be to force it. I go to roll it up...nothing. They didn't know how to fix it so I now have a problem that I was dealing with fine the way it was, stuck all the way up, but now it is stuck halfway, after much effort to pull it up. But I now HAVE to pay to fix it because you can't have a rolled down car window all the time now can you? read more

I have had a fleet car for years and they have always billed my company automatically, however today, they were CLUELESS. Very surprised by the negative reviews for this location. Anyway, after a very negative experience with the location downtown on de la vina, I headed over to this location. I was significantly over due for a transmission fluid flush service for my Land Rover. My truck is very specific to what fluids to put in and luckily Jiffy Lube actually carries it. I dealt with Sammy, who went above and beyond with changing the transmission fluid, with flushing it 5 times until bright red as it should be. Sammy also took the time to wipe down the undercarriage, and left it looking like brand new. Sammy is definitely a rarity at these locations, he definitely knew what he was doing and also knows how to treat a customer. The other employees were very nice as well and could not have asked for a better experience here. read more

I took my car here and then read the reviews later, and I'm surprised by the bad reviews. Maybe it helped them improve, since I had a friendly, prompt and overall good experience. Example: I called at 5:30pm to see what the latest time they'd take my car (they close at 6pm) and they kindly said they'd take it if I drove in at 5:59pm. They also were straightforward with me about what I didn't have to do. Everyone working there was customer service-oriented. Yes, of course they're going to upsell you on premium options, but that's just a function of a good business and I have no problem saying no to it. read more

*UPDATE* Like the other poster below, Goleta Jiffy Lube manager, Peter Garcia, followed up on my review and issued a refund. I was not expecting that and appreciate his sincere and non-defensive effort to make up for this experience. ------------------------ I came here with a groupon for an oil change and was told it would cover the oil change only "up to $44" and not the extra services I was purchasing. This is reasonable but as he was talking so fast as he walked me through the invoice, it seemed higher than what I calculated on my own. I asked him to go back to the previous screen and walk me through it again- he repeated the same thing but it still didn't make sense to me. I saw that the price of the oil change was listed for $49.95 and that he was only deducting $44 from the total. He repeated that I would only be charged for additional services on top of the oil change and clicked the computer to the next screen. I asked him to go back to the previous screen and pointed out the price discrepancy and he apologized and said the computer was wrong and it should list the oil change as $44. Had I not caught that, I would have paid $10 extra. It honestly felt like he was just going through the motions and that he was trained to follow this procedure-- so I wouldn't be surprised that others had been overcharged too not realizing the procedure didn't make sense. Some yelpers have expressed that they felt they paid too much-- it's possible they were overcharged given my experience. While it's possible it truly was a mistake, it left me with a bad taste, feeling like this location is in it for a dishonest extra buck. They should be more careful with their invoices, especially given that they are simply reading it off the screen. read more

Don't go here! My uncle who lives in Milwaukee drove out to visit us. Before his return trip, he went to this Jiffy Lube - the one on Hollister in Goleta - for a simple oil change. He didn't even make it to Arizona before his car broke down. Guess what. Yeah, no oil in the engine. I realize that that is one person's mistake. The mechanic there was unable to open the hood widely enough, so told me to go to "any" mechanic's shop to have the hood fixed, and then return for the oil change.
