I went in for an oil change as my regular mechanic is closed on sundays. They told me that my breaks were in the "red zone" and also my break fluid was too dark. I didnt even ask them to check my breaks. They told me that my car was unsafe to drive because of the breaks. I went to my regular mechanic to have them double check for me and they told me everything was fine and that Jiffy Lube told me that because I am a female and they assumed I didn't know any better so they were scamming me. Went here in order to hedge my bets on COVID risks so as to have a safe Christmas and never in my life have I paid $100 for 5000 miles of oil. For those of you don't know... a regular oil change around these parts costs $30. Not the employees fault, but this chain is a rip off and trains their staff to talk at you about every single thing you could buy from them. I went to this place today, remembering that 2 years ago i went and didn't like the experience but I really needed an oil change, so I went anyway. -First I would like to note that they charge $42 for a standard oil change, which is pretty darn high so i expect some good service. -I went to walmart and came back for them to inform me that my break light magically went out between last night and the time that they changed my oil and they would like me to pay them to fix it. Basically, these crooks broke my break light so they could charge me to fix it. -Then I look at my back seat and it still has dog hair on it, so clearly, they didn't vacum very well. When I brought my car in for an oil change yesterday, their mechanics gave me the same spiel as some other reviewers about replacing the brakes. Thankfully, my other mechanic just checked my car and said my brakes were fine and so I said NO. Unfortunately, I got convinced to get a very costly cabin air filter replacement which afterwards turns out that I could have easily done myself for much, much cheaper. Look up "asymmetrical information" and "moral hazard" and you will know why car mechanics will fleece you. Knowledge is power! Recently had my very my last trip here- I literally sat in the waiting area and listened to an employee tell another customer that they need to now try to give people all these other services because "we have to keep the lights on". I always kind of gear up for battle when I come here anyway, repeating "just the basic oil change" over and over until it sounds firm enough even coming from my lady mouth, but this last time the level of cajoling upselling turned calamitous- not only did the dude speak to me like I was a little child, he insisted that I had a severe enough leak that I would "ruin my engine" if I drive on it. I kept refusing additional services and he kept telling me he is "required by law" to tell me of "dangerous mechanical problems" and I basically leave without fixing them (at $200+) at my peril. I mean, he was just dripping with condescension and mock sadness at how needlessly I was endangering my car, it was an epic performance of corporate deception and mansplaining all rolled in one. Well, long story short, I got out with my basic oil change and made a rush appointment with my long-time trusted mechanic, because I was about to drive about 1000 miles for vacation. Guess what? No problem, no leak, nothing. Radiator is fine, everything is fine. Props to my poor busy mechanic who made room for me at the last minute, but I wasted my time and his because I let down my cynical guard enough to be worried by the dramatic performance I was subjected to. Since driven 2000 more miles of summer road tripping in this car and had in for a more thorough check up- still no problems and definitely not the type of leaks I was being told were present. Went here a few months ago for an oil change. Took almost double the time they said it would. The man who worked on my car then called me over to list a bunch of things that I needed to fix immediately and quoted me around $200. I opted out and later found out from 2 other places that I didn't need any work done at all-the car wasn't even a year old. Then he asked what kind of oil I wanted and I said standard and that I bought a groupon and he went off about how only stupid people who don't know anything about cars would buy a Groupon and that I made a bad choice. The men that were waiting for their cars were not told that they needed to repair anything and were treated extremely well. I used to take my car here. Today I waited 2 hours for the $79.99 oil change and watched them bring in one car after another ahead of me. I asked why I was being made to wait so long and the employees were rude. Jiffy Lube always provided complete service for a great price. I am not sure if it is just location but the price has climbed, and the service has dropped over the last few years. When I moved to this area, the Jiffy Lube price was lower than everywhere else, and they vacuumed the floor and provided small things. The waiting area was appealing providing coffee and water. Over the years the price began climbing, but I was willing to pay a little extra for the added services. It seems they decided to raise the price as well as doing away with the small things. On my recent visit, they did not even vacuum the floor, the waiting room was dirty, and they stopped providing water and coffee. read more

These workers robbed me of almost $400 for NOTHING. Don't go there even for an oil change, they will just make more problems on your car and give you an "estimate" to take your money for doing nothing. I never had a problem with Jiffy Lube until I went to this one. Started getting problems with my car after my oil change, went back to see if it was the transmission fluid, that they said it wasn't (which is really was!), then robbed me of a $320 "tune up" and fuel injector change, which did nothing! I was there on Saturday for an oil change and inspection. I have been a patron for about 5 years and for most of that time my experience has been fine but the last 2 have been disappointing. Saturday they brought me out shortly after my car was brought in and given a laundry list of things my car needed done one of which was rotating the tires. I explained it was impossible that the tires needed rotating because I had all four replaced on Wednesday. I was then told that they don't look at the tires; they just go by what "the computer" says. Horrible. I usually go in and get a regular oil change for around $40.00. This past time I said I wanted the usual oil I use and come back to have them tell me they used synthetic oil that the manufacturer recommends, and they couldn't find my account to look up what I normally use which is B.S. and charge me $100!!! Luckily I stood my ground and had a receipt in my car from the last visit (WITH MY NAME FOR THE ACCOUNT ON IT) and showed him what I usually get. One person in particular is very untrustworthy (which has been referred to on other reviews) and I will never go back there again. Nobody has time or money for this. Awful; beware this location and their nefarious bait and switch tactics. I recently went here with a groupon and had called to confirm that it would cover my entire oil change. The man on the line assured me that it would cover the full synthetic oil change on my vw. When I arrived , the "manager" (if you can call it that) changed the terms. He failed to understand how Groupon works and claimed that it only counted for $43.16 off the $99 oil change. When I explained to him the logic of this and the fact that one of his own employees had assured me otherwise, he wouldn't budge claiming that he "can't give me an oil change for free." Idiot, you get reimbursed by groupon - that's how it works. The guy also lied to me claiming that his magical $43 number was first in the fine print (it wasn't) and then changing his tune and saying it was "in his experience." What? Took my car in for an oil change, and was quite satisfied with the experience. The staff was friendly and patient enough to answer my questions and the lube job only took about twenty minutes. Heard the same speech about brake pads being gouged and brake fluid being too dark that it is unsafe to drive to four costumers including us and a young mother in an hour. They did not check neither out brakes pads or brake fluids before telling us this. All we wanted was our oil changed. They were very unprofessional and rude to everyone I saw them interact with. Definitely have mixed feelings about this shop, (Hadley, MA) and lately not so good. Got the "signature oil change" where they do the oil, a lube job, vacuum the floor carpet, tops off fluids. When my vehicle was done, not only had they not vacuumed any of it, but has also left an oily boot print on the carpet on the driver's side. They also did not reset the oil change alert for me, so my vehicle is constantly telling me I need an oil change. I am wondering whether they actually did the lube job, and topped off everything. The cost: $50. I think I'll steer clear of them from now on. read more

Went to the Hadley store twice recently with 2 different cars. Got the hard-sell both times. The sales person/ tech tried to intimidate me into new filters. Cars were not vacuumed. Also said I needed coolant when it was already full. Had a $20 off coupon. They also include a $9 car wash so it was aworth it. read more

I was a bit worried about Jiffy Lube after reading everyone's reviews, but I went anyways and I was thoroughly impressed. I showed up around 8:30am on a Monday for an oil change and my car was ready to go 15 minutes later. The staff were incredibly courteous, welcoming, and informative. I'm really surprised at all of the negative reviews - I went here today to get my car inspected, and the service was phenomenal - for sure, the best customer service I've ever received at an auto repair shop. True to their name, they cranked out the inspection quickly, but didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. They even changed my license plates for me, free of charge, when I mentioned that I was fighting with the screws that had been stripped. Literally the friendliest crew of people I've ever encountered at an auto body establishment. The prices are pretty much what you'd expect from a Jiffy Lube (higher cost but faster service). But the employees know what they're doing, and I haven't ever driven away with any parts that were screwed up like I do from most garages. read more

Well all I have to say is what a bummer! I went in to get a basic oil change and they gave the the whole shakedown of trying to get more work done on my car and they recommended a tire roataion, which I knew beforhand I needed and thought why not, I'll just get it done. 40 minutes later, I went to go drive my car away and there was an insane grinding and vibrating coming from the front end of my car. I brought it back and waited over an hour and they weren't able to fix it. I came out with a worse vehicle than I came in with. Which is just such a bummer. They were reluctant about a refund and the manager refused to come talk to me about the issue or possibilities that it could have been. I had to take my car into my mechanic, take time off of work, spend more money. What a let down. read more

I'm sure that the service that I received was probably properly done. The service here is not my issue. The other day I came in to get a basic oil change done and ended up walking out having spent nearly $200 on services that I did not need but reluctantly agreed to getting because I really wanted to just leave there without having to deal with these people any longer. The person who decided to talk to me about my service neglected to do that and instead decided to talk about their hot Latina girlfriend and how he may be 60 years old but he feels like he's 30 and how he was a soccer star in high school and how he owned a Harley and how he used to be in the Army and how he plans to move out to Arizona and build some farm and how he treats every girl that walks in the door like his girlfriend so that they feel comfortable feeling like they're not getting screwed over. Well guess what I was the most uncomfortable I have ever felt in my entire life this person needs not work with the public. He's extremely uncomfortable to talk to because not only is he very forceful but he is a Bonafide close talker which makes everybody uncomfortable. The person who hires at this location really needs to think about looking for another position after having hired this person seriously this guy is a joke and I will never be coming back here because of him. And if one of the managers of that and if one of the managers of that particular location decides to reply to this wondering who it is I don't remember his name but he has strawberry blonde hair and I'm sure what the details that he explicitly gave me an I'm sure has explained to you you'll know exactly who it is. it's bad when other employees have to whisper to you that they're sorry for his behavior. read more

DONT Go Here!!!!. Just took my car to another shop for an oil change and they found that Jiffy Lube had Jammed a wrench into my car that was pressing against the brakeline. This could have caused the brakes to seize and not engage. They also removed and did not replace the brake fluid cap. Now looking at over $300 repair bill for their negligence!!! Found out in the subsequent scheduled maintenance at the dealership that no air filter was installed and wrong replacement cabin air filter was installed. Last visit to Jiffy Lube. read more

Went in for an oil change and was told it would take 20 minutes....an hour of waiting later I asked how much longer it would be, and was told 30 minutes more and given attitude about it. I decided to leave, and as I was getting into my car another employee told me that, actually, my car was up now (the car being serviced in front of me had coincidentally been moved in the time it took me to walk to my car). This place blows. They tout how they have a 60 gazillion point inspections but never seem to vacuum the interior for me! Also, they claim to check your lights but failed to let me know that the fuse on my headlights was burnt out and I had no regular beams. Only the high beams worked so they didn't feel it necessary to tell me! The manager was not helpful at all when I complained. No attempt at any accommodation. I go somewhere else now. read more

This Jiffy lube is a rip off!!! They inspect your car and fail it for something like your wiper blade left a streak, so you will buy one of their 15 dollar wiper blades. When it happened to me two people in the waiting area said the same thing happened to the. MA should audit this place. When I got a replacement elsewhere while my oil was changed they said I would have to go to the back of the inspection line, 6 people in queue to get "reinspected" They guy said, "what do you think lady that you are special or something". What a jerk, I had my oil changed every 8 weeks due to the distance I drive, NO MORE!! new place opened up down the street, I'll never go there again. They are so rude and rip you off, every time you go in they want to replace your air filter, 35.00 bucks, go to the auto parts store they are 10.00. read more

I have never written a Yelp review before, but the disappointing service I received today was enough to make me do it. I went to get my oil changed. They took my car right away. About 15 minutes later, they came to me with a list of problems that they had found with the car. While I have generally found this place to be pretty reasonable with their suggestions, I definitely felt that they were searching for problems for which they could charge me. I finally left after choosing carefully which of the "problems" I wanted to pay to fix. They changed the cabin air filter. As I was driving my car away, I heard a new buzzing noise. I immediately went back in, and without my saying anything they said "that sometimes happens," suggesting that they knew exactly why I was there, but had not bothered to check that behind the air filter was cleaned fully of debris. They did not have a vacuum to remove the debris (which seems like a basic amenity for a place like this) , and instead had to do it by hand, which was not effective. Almost more concerning to me than going to a place where people don't know what they're doing is going to a place where they do know, but use this knowledge to rip you off. That's what happened to me today. I have gone to this location for nearly three years, and I do not trust them at all after today. The company has changed ownership and with it has lost its integrity and I will not be returning. read more

I got my oil changed here for the two years I went to school at UMass. They were friendly and quick. And they weren't rude when I chose to bring my own oil and filter (I have an older car and prefer a specific oil and filter). There's no discount for bringing your own oil/filter though (I'm guessing most of the rate they charge is for labor). They also took the time to answer questions and were helpful in their responses. Overall, I'd recommend getting oil changed here. If there's a line, you could feasibly run a quick errand at one of the nearby stores. read more
