District Manager also supports their deceptive practices. They constantly try to sell every single Customer a whole bunch of expensive and unnecessary things, above and beyond the oil change. They also DO NOT understand the distinction between recommendations and requirements. My vehicle owners manual is free to recommend a certain type of oil, without a being a requirement. These Jiffy Lube employees are attempting to mislead people to higher prices. If they are not on commission, there's certainly a benefit to their location ranking high in selling all of these "add-ons"...It's really sad & maddening!!! read more

I was a thousand miles overdue for an oil change, and absolutely had to get it done. As a mom of two littles, I need to take advantage of times when I have a sitter to watch the kids. I headed out first thing to get an oil change as soon as businesses opened. I first ended up at Merlin, but unfortunately they turned me away, since they were working on vehicles that already had appointments. I swore I would never go back to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, but here I was. I was a little awkward in locating it and parked in the front. Matt actually came out. I asked if they were doing oil changes this morning, and he said they were. Thankfully! He held the door open for me, and provided friendly service. A lot of people apparently had the same idea as I did and getting oil change first thing in the morning. My service was completed in little less than an hour. Hanover Park The last two times my tires have been over inflated. (they were ranging from 30 to 38. also I believe they did not do my oil change on 8-27-2022. I changed my oil a day later my self. Horrible experience for me. Went in to have my a/c looked at for my Lexus ES. They told me it need to be recharged and need to check for a leak before they did because laws did not allow a refill if there was a leak. They checked it, found no leaks. Refilled it and charged me roughly $200. As soon as I left the parking lot, a cloud of freon escaped from under my hood. I thought my car was on fire for a minute. I went back and explained and the mgr said... "I guess you have a leak then". So I said, "You must not have checked for a leak? Or you overfilled it, maybe?" He ignored me and said I needed to pay an additional fee for more diagnostic work and refused to give me a refund on the grounds that they didn't perform their due diligence. I demanded a refund and he told me to leave or he would call the police. I left. I made several calls to mgmt and corporate and got nowhere. I will never return to Jiffy lube, any location. read more

After coming over to this location for last 14 years I've finally had it. About a year ago they have broken my prop stick holder and didn't mention a word. I've discovered it shortly after and confronted them about it, manager claimed to make things right and order one, never did. I've stopped there about a week ago and got this feeling I should drive away but didn't. I have never been asked what oil I would like used, they've simply used the same weight as last time. I've asked not to touch my tires just to see them putting air into them, asked the manager to show me the oil level before I drive away to be simply confronted with "WHY?", because I am a customer, he pulls the dipstick and wipes it down .... with his finger!!!! We both agree that this business is a customer service business and that some employees just don't get it. Jiffy Lube #205 - Hanover Park, STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! Took my car in on Friday 7/8/2011 for an oil change. They didn't have the right tool to take the filter off or their tool was worn down. They were messing with the filter for over 30 mins. I went outside and told them to get away from my vehicle and took my car to dealership the next day. Dealership just told me that the last place rounded out and cracked the housing for the filter and it will cost me $43.26 to repair. Not only will I never take any of my cars to JL anymore, I will make sure to spread the word in every social media location I can. read more

I would not recommend this location. They changed my oil on my BMW. They did not reset the service indicator. They told me the part they needed would be in 1 week. I came back a week later. I was told It didn't make the truck. I came back 2 weeks later, again I was told it wasn't on the truck. I came back 4 weeks later and the same story. If they didn't have the part they should have told me. Now I need to back to the dealer and get this done so that I can pass my emission test. I will never use them again. They are liars and it will now cost me more money for to get this done. Don't go for convince with these guys. Go to some one who you can trust. read more

I have been here several times over the past 2 years. I will no longer be going there, however. I have never had a visit where I left thinking anything other than, "Boy are these people dumb!" For instance, I went there today because they did a transmission flush a couple of months ago and I thought it might be leaking because the RPM's were not quite right and it was not changing gears correctly. Plus, my husband had to add some fluid. First, they lied and said I had already been there before they did any work to it complaining that the transmission was not working right.... never happened. Second, they said my husband added too much fluid so they had to drain some..... if they actually drained it, that process would take a bit of time. they claimed to have done it within minutes. Third, they said that my husband added the fluid while the car was still cool... I informed them that the car had been running for awhile when it was messing up. I asked them to check for a leak.... they said there were no leaks.. but they never checked!!!!!!!!!!!! And the woman (a manager who is new... they do have a lot of new hires ALL the time, it seems) was VERY rude to me. Also, in the past, they have refused to check the air pressure in my tires because they claim I have nitrus in my tires.... not true... I have regular air in them and I have often told them this..... only to have them act like I am reallllllllly stupid and they claim otherwise. Also, they recently jacked up their prices on oil changes. The last time I got my oil changed there, I paid close to $40 and that was WITH a $5 off coupon. I will go to North Gary Auto in the future, where they only charge $29. I will not go here ever again. read more

I was over Jiffy Lube a while ago thanks to them trying to charge me for a major service after I had already gotten it done a few months earlier elsewhere. But on this particular occasion my regular oil-change go to was booked and I was in no mood to re-schedule and plus it was my one day off available...so I decided to give the 'ol JL another shot. Not a good choice. First of all all JL's take your whole car apart and feel the need to show you each piece just to show you how badly in shape it is. Yes that's an air filter it just looks like it's doing it's job of filtering! It's not going to be bright white all the time.Yeah i'm not falling for any of it!! Ok well so I did need windshield wipers so I said yes to that. Biggest mistake ever! They had a deal and I just got the standard ones since you know I have a standard car, nothing special. Ugh. These things are the loudest wipers imaginable! I thought it would go away during the break in period, but not so much. When I turn these things on it sounds like a dozen screeching bats flying into my windshield...and really that's putting it lightly. It's so bad that the S.O. thought they were my old ones in dying need to be replaced. It's even gotten to the point that if they're on I can't continue a conversation until the wipers are done because it drowns out my voice...and now if I happen to turn them on and I happen to be on the phone I get: "Must be raining?" Or if it's someone who hadn't been privy: "What in the name of all that is holy is that??!" So all in all Jiffy Lube likes to screw people over, and I don't think it's necessarily location specific. Not returning after years of loyalty to this location. Was told twice I needed a antifreeze top off for $7. Declined offer, returned home both times and checked anti freeze level and it was exactly at "max/hot" in my garage on a flat surface. If they would have added any it would have been over filled and a total waste of my $7. I have two break lights out. They tell me they are not out. I just left, yep they are out. Also when I was with some guy going over my car I noticed they had my name in their system as a profanity. Very classy. He asked if I wanted a tire rotation but didn't have any record of me having one done in the past. I asked if the tires look like they need a rotation. I've been coming to this location for years, but it's time to go elsewhere. Twice now I've left with no washer fluid and low pressure in my tires. I'm beginning to wonder if my oil was even changed. In both instances it was the same young kid in charge, and I specifically asked him if those services were done. He didn't go over past service history or what services were due (as other technicians have always done). I mentioned it to the manager the first time it happened, and she assured me it would be brought up in their meeting. I went here as I needed brakes and a transmission flush. Much to my surprise I only needed the front brakes done. When I questioned it the manager, Andrea assured me that only my fronts needed replacing and I probably had until end of next summer/early fall on the rear brakes. It's very refreshing to have a car repair place be honest with you. They checked everything on my car and assured me it was good to go for the winter. They are fast and efficient with an oil change. They had free donuts in the waiting room. I DO think the prices are high. I went at 8:00 a.m., and I got a 10 dollar discount. (Early Bird special) Even after the discount I paid $42.95 for a basic standard oil change. I did not buy anything extra. Their upsell is really disturbing. They will take out the in-cabin air filter and ruin it so you have to buy a new one. They also told me that my left directional bulbs needed replacing. Since they were $12 each, I said I would replace them myself. When I got home, I checked the directionals and ALL of them worked. This is the typical scam of an automotive shop! Brought my sons, who is on his way back from Afghanistan, car in for an oil change before taking the car back to him at Fort Bragg, NC. In their typical up sell pitch they convinced me I need the tire rotated. While taking the right front tire off they claimed that the "stud" had expanded into the lug nut and it broke when they took it off. Told me I had to replace the stud and the lug nut. The manager commented "I see from the license plate you're not local and I know your spending your Saturday afternoon in my lobby". After telling them their claim was bull crap they suddenly decided they could clean the shavings out of the lug and then replace it. This place totally thought they had some people from out of town who would have no choice but to pay whatever they asked because we had to get back to NC. They didn't realize we actually live here and this is our sons car. Total scam!! Stay away!! read more

Do NOT take your vehicle here. I had my oil changed at this location I told the technician that my car was running rough and that there was a warning light on I was concerned because I was a long way from home. He told me the car just needed an oil change. The next day the warning light was back on the car had no coolant in it when my receipt clearly states that the coolant was full. There was no windshield washer fluid added either which isn't a big deal but I was told the fluids had all been topped off. When I called to complain all I got were excuses. I feel odd about writing a review for an oil change place, but if all service establishments were run like this Jiffy Lube, the world would be free from war, strife, hunger... it would be eutopia!! This place has got the service thing down. From the second (millisecond actually) that you drive up, they are there, armed to please. Opening your car door, then running to open the door to let you in, then the next friendly face greets you and then you get the run down of what you need and what you can wait on, which I appreciate, and they never pressure you to do anything. I once had a 60K tune up done here (which includes a lot of stuff that you wouldn't normally have done at a jiffy lube). I'm sure it was more expensive, but I just knew they would do it well and much faster than a dealer would have. He even offered me a discount because I had so many things done. They are good, I definitely highly recommend this place. read more
