I needed to get my oil changed. Like yesterday. So I chose the Jiffy Lube in Havertown to help me cross this off of my to-do list. No appointment needed, so I drove in after work. I was immediately greeted by an employee as soon as I stepped out of my car, and he took my keys and told me to wait inside. I took a seat and within 5 or 6 minutes, I was called outside so that he could get my info and tell me about what my car needed. Having never been to a place like this, I thought the computerized system was a cool addition to the oil change experience. Until it started saying that I was due for a bunch of other things. Apparently my power steering fluid needed to be replaced and my fuel filter needed to be changed. The employee let me know that just cleaning the filter would save me some money and would have the same effect. I was also notified about 20 minutes into everything that I had a lot of corrosion on my battery but that they would take care of that for me free of charge. When all was said and done, I wound up paying $135 for all the services - much more than I expected to be shelling out when I first walked in. Though the staff was friendly and the waiting area was clean and cheerful, I can't help but think that I may have been taken. I can't even bring myself to give this place one star. Got my oil changed and they completely fucked my car up. I had to drive to Oklahoma (from PA) and my car leaked oil the whole way. When I got back home and my dad checked it out, they didn't even put the filter back on right. Complete waste of time and money. Avoid avoid avoid avoid. I was from out of town Columbus Ohio and I need an oil change prior to driving back. They were very friendly and professional. As well they made sure they reset my oil percentage to 100% without me even asking. In Columbus I always have to ask them to reset it for me. I even had to get back out of my car to go into tell them thank you. It's the little things that counts! read more

This establishment is a quick "in and out" and I visit regularly. However, as another writer mentioned, you must learn to say "no" and tell them that you there only for an oil change. They will try to sell you additional items or services unless you stop them. The only reason I awarded a 3 rather than a 5 is because during my last visit I asked them not to do anything other than change the oil. Despite my request, they removed the cabin air filter to suggest that I replace it. In order to do that, they had to go through the glove compartment and I did not want them to open up my glove compartment which contained personal items. There is nothing illegal there, but nonetheless the reason the door is closed is to protect privacy. Hereafter, before I hand over my keys, I am going to tape a piece of paper to the steering wheel that says "Halt! change the oil as advertised and nothing more". read more

Dnt tighten the lugs nuts to point you cant get them off, it doesnt need to be on there so tight that you cant remove it by hand. You guys probably impacted the crap out of my lugs, rookie mechanics. wont be back. read more

I am a Fortune 125 senior executive and my time is valuable and I can take my car anywhere I want. I originally stopped by Jiffy Lube on the recommendation of a friend, and I really liked the "drop in" nature which worked with my schedule, didn't want to deal with scheduling appointments at the dealership. Today, the manager A.J. helped me with my car. Not only was he thoroughly knowledgeable about the car and the problem I was having (and he fixed it), his attention to customer service and making my visit an exceptional customer experience was outstanding. I certainly hope A.J. gets the recognition he deserves by the upper management at Jiffy Lube, as his combination of technical skill and thoughtful customer service indicates to me he is a leader with more potential, one who should be strongly considered for additional responsibility and promotion. I've had nothing but positive experiences with the team at Jiffy Lube Havertown. They are not pushy in selling additional products when not needed but strike the right balance in advising when they think additional items may be warranted without going over the top. I've stopped into this Jiffy lube when i lived in the area and it was called Grease Monkey! The place is your standard in/out oil change service station. They are normal and have a waiting area for you to work out. I see the other review had posted a thread about the process and here is what i always tell people that go here and feel like they have been duped. Just learn to say no. If they say you need extra services, just say "no". Flushes are not needed, as are other things. You are there for an oil change, nothing more, nothing less. No wipers, extra filters, hummers...etc. Just get your oil changed and you'll be pleased. This place is fine for that just go in sit and get your oil changed. If it is truly something that is "wrong" with your car, then simply have them note it on your account and ask somebody else what it could be and if it is needed. When all else fails look at the maintenance book in your car manual in your glove compartment. This place also was one of the first places i remember seeing female attendants which is a bonus for the straight males in the area. read more

I took my new car in for a six month initial oil change even though I haven't been driving as much lately. I was the only one there at the time so they could have used the business, but instead the tech told me that my oil was still clean and didn't need changing. Got my fluids topped off and was out in 5 minutes. So refreshing to know I can now trust this place to tell me exactly what my car needs. When it was Grease Monkey I always dreaded the call outside to the bay to be pressured into adding expensive additional services that I was never certain I actually needed. read more

I usually go to my boys place for all my car needs. I needed an oil change right away on a Sunday. Most places not open on Sundays. I looked up online and found this place. I am glad I went there. The staff members were professional. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I asked the cashier about the yelp $10 coupon. He told me they don't accept that but honored me $10 off. I came for an emergency oil change in the middle of the afternoon. I was greeted as soon as I drove up. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. This made me feel comfortable and valuable as a customer. The oil change was less than 20 minutes! Best of all, I was able to redeem a coupon that I found online without any hassles and before they began servicing my vehicle. AVOID !!! It took me an hour to get my oil changed. ??? Yes, an hour. How is that possible? More importantly, the woman that was working inside was a snarling, irritated bitch. If you're going to do such a bad job you should at least be nice about it, but she was anything but. IGNORANT. Had bad experience. Oil change. 4 mechanics at shop. I was in and half way done. Another customer came for same oil change. Mine was done and paid for. But they purposely let my truck sit there until second car was done & driven out. A good ten minutes. Also the girl at front desk was too busy talking on phone with friends to talk to me. I went to Havertown, PA Jiffy Lube located at 20 W. Township Line for an oil change for my 2000 Plymouth Neon. The service/customer rep told me my car had an extensive transmission leak . I immediately took my car to the mechanic I ve been using for my vehicles for the past 20 years. After examining the transmission line he discovered when Jiffy Lube was checking the transmission fluid level, they left the transmission fluid line open. As a result, transmission fluid ran all over the clamp and transmission pan. After my mechanic throughly cleaned both clamp and pan, he found NO leak whatsoever. This was my first time going to Jiffy Lube and it is most definitely my LAST. I will never go to Jiffy Lube again. read more

I went there yesterday to get my oil changed. Today my car stalls eight times within ten minutes. This has never happened before so I decided to call the branch. The number listed is a fax number. You can not get a hold of them. I decided to check the oil myself and they did not put any oil back in. Clearly their fault and now I am stranded because I cannot get in touch with them. Bill, the person w/ the label of manager, has his head so far up his @$$, I'm not quite sure how he finds the light of day. Not only did HE tell me I did not need an oil change when I stopped there for service, my actual dealership discovered they put the wrong oil filter on my car as well!! When I went to confront him and demand my money back, he told me he had to write down my license plate to check for my car in the system...LIES...and get this...he wrote it on his filthy palm!! Still waiting for the District Manager to call days later in order to discuss my refund. More horsesh1t. If you value your car, time, money, and dignity, steer clear of this bootleg establishment. Had my oil changed on 6/10/17. I saw white smoke from my tailpipe the next day. i brought the car back and the Manager and assistants looked under hood, pulled the dipstick and told me anything that happened wasn't their fault. I told him there was no smoke before I brought it in. Manager told me to bring the car to my mechanic to check out and there was nothing he could do. My mechanic told me there was oil all over the heat shield and it was dripping from the oil pan nut. I called the corporate office and they gave me a case number and said someone would be in touch within 48 hours. I called back 6/20 and was put on hold and the system hung up on me twice. As of 6/24 I have not received a call back. I had my mechanic change the oil yesterday and the white smoke has dissipated. The oil looks like it was used oil and I saved it. I just filed a complaint with the FTC. My customer experience was horrible and I will relate this story to everyone who will listen. My family uses this Jiffy Lube but will not anymore. read more
