I would not recommend this jiffy lube and will never go back, over priced, messy work (see photos) and next day check engine light came on. Not sure if others have had this experience but i would not want anyone to pay as much as i did, I literally felt like i was getting robbed at the time, they cheated me a quart of oil because when the check engine light came on first thing i did was i checked the dip stick and couldn't believe i was low the next day. After purchasing another qt of oil and to find out what a mess they left under the hood, i again felt taken advantage of and out of pocket more money, and again feeling robbed, trying to support your local businesses doesn't always pay off... My car has been in the shop for 3 weeks getting a new engine, oil change at your own risk. read more

Came here and was at first happy with being told that I would be able to get a quick oil change. There was only one other person in the waiting room. I was in the waiting room for an hour and the workers kept closing the door. When I opened it and looked I saw that my car was being used to train a new employee how to do an oil change.I understand that the there must be training but is it really the best time when someone has literally just told you that they are in a hurry and that your company claims to do things quickly? That is the reason why I come to this location. Definitely won't be coming back here, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. read more

This is definitely NOT the Jiffy Lube standard I am accustomed to. For one - the entire staff kept adjusting their masks with their hands, not changing their gloves. This is a perfect method for spreading COVID! I was asked to pay before I was ever given a total. Instead I was asked to show any coupons and give them my card. When I pointed out that they charged me for a service which I had a coupon for the woman must have forgotten my windows were rolled down and started giving a huge attitude. Also, I was told I would not be able to use coupons and my military discount, which has never been the case. Every other location has looked to see which would allow me the biggest discount. Or will use both! This company is known for being very I will definitely go to another location other than this one. Who has time for a bad attitude these days?!? read more

We came for a Uber inspection they passed us then i asked how much it would cost for windshield wipers then they failed me and said my wipers were bad starting measuring my wipers saying that i had to buy new ones or they would keep failing me. Ive never had this happen to me but then they were just really rude and i do not recommend this place read more

Possibly the worst jiffy lube I've ever been to. I got my battery changed there back in April and it has been giving me problem since. Came to find out that the battery's defected so I called them and asked if I could just get the battery swap out in Los Angeles since I live here now, and they told me yes, and there will be no questions asked. So, I went to a jiffy lube close to my place in LA and was told that they would not be able to do it since the last jiffy lube didn't use the recommended battery, and since it's a franchise, they aren't responsible for the warranty. So then I called the La Mesa jiffy lube again to ask for a refund and was baffled by their unwillingness to help and unsympathetic attitude. I was given a very corporate answer, with the implication that the refund process isn't going to be easy. La Mesa Jiffy Lube did not only give me a defected battery, they also messed up the electric wiring of my car. I'm not a mechanic so I won't able to go into details of how it's messed up, but I can tell you that my radio doesn't work anymore since the battery change. To anyone who's considering going to this location, I strongly recommend you not to, for that you will at least have a peace of mind that your car isn't being worked on by some incompetent mechanic. Also, it will for sure save you a headache from dealing with a greedy store manager whose main concern is money not customer service. read more

I had a great experience with the person that checked me in and and started to check me out. The mechanic was awesome and both were very friendly friendly. I had a great experience until a girl came up and asked for payment. I asked if I could use a coupon and she just stared at me. wearing a Samuel jumpsuit which I'm assuming is not her name . I'd never been to this location before. I wait at the counter until I'm greeted by someone who immediately tells me, "sit and wait 35 minutes". I explain that I'm here for an oil change, and I like to just drop off my car. Without even looking at my car he tells me I will need synthetic oil, which will run around $89. I decided to take my car elsewhere (Midas) which ran half the price, and I found them to be much more customer service oriented. read more

My experience at this location was well below the bare minimum. The staff at the shop didn't seem to be organized on who what doing what. They guy who attempted to replace my air filter didn't know how, so someone else had to come do it. Then they didn't even put the cover back on correctly. What I'm really upset about is the fact that they did my oil change incorrectly. I had a horrible oil leak from an improper oil change. I just spent a lot of money to get a new oil change and have all the oil cleaned from my undercarriage and engine. I really hope that down the line I don't experience issues with my engine because of the lack of care, training, and attention from the staff at Jiffy Lube. This really upsets me because oil changes should be an area of expertise for a place that promotes themselves for oil changes. And to top it off, they put my skid plate on crooked so I had to get help from another mechanic near my work to put it back on correctly. DO NOT GO HERE. Back in July 2021, I went to the JiffyLube located at 5540 Lake Murray Boulevard. They immediately cracked the oil cannister on my car and then went into full cover-up mode, instead of taking responsibility. The employees blamed the mechanic who had done my oil change back in January 2021! I submitted a complaint to JiffyLube and they immediatelty "closed the case." I contacted the BBB and JiffyLube basically called me a liar and the BBB had no choice but to close out the complaint. That isn't how you treat customers. I had taken my car immediately to a Toyota dealership the next day, and Toyota confirmed that JiffyLube had cracked the oil cannister because they had not used the proper tool. I was out $77.57 and JiffyLube refused to reimburse me. Buyer beware. Take your car elsewhere - take it to your dealership where they will use high quality oil and filters and they will take responsibility for any damage done for the same price as LiffyLube charges you and without employees who have no training! read more

the worst place I have ever been too for an oil change , I was over charged ,wasn't told an pricing for anything not even my grand total they just took my card. Then they were giving me dirty looks while I was waiting for them to change it abs made comments about my car to each other . They charged me $300 dollars without even telling me the price before they took my card . I've never felt so uncomfortable and furious they took $300 dollars from me not even explaining how much they stuff they offered me cost. You need new staff. read more

There are closer oil change places, but we bring our cars to this one. They do a great job and check all your fluid levels, air in the tires, belts, etc. At some places I'm leery of such recommendations because they try to upsell you when you don't need it, but at this one they have only recommended the things we do need. Our car was making a whirring noise for a while like a sewing machine; my husband said it was the transmission fluid, but he hadn't bothered checking it. Lo and behold, at Jiffy Lube they said we should replace the transmission fluid. We had a complete fluid replacement(recommended at 60K miles; our car has a bit more) and they also pointed out the filters needed replacing (which was true). The filters were about the same price you'd pay at an auto parts store, maybe a few bucks more, so it was worth having them do it while they had everything taken apart. My car is running like new! Also, they are courteous, they do ask before they do any extra work, and they were done with everything in about 45 minutes. You can walk to the Starbucks-- there's one at Vons in the shopping center, or one up the street, or walk to Lake Murray while you wait. Or you can wait in their air-conditioned waiting room and watch Jerry Springer. read more

Came here for a break fluid flush. They had 4 guys working on my car who, all 4, didn't even know what they were doing. I was at first quoted $89 for just the flush and fluid added. After the service was done and I was about to pay they asked me if I wanted all 4 flushed (I didn't even know there was even 4 to flush) and then a guy asked another guy how much it would be.. another guy said it would be $350 from the front and $700 for from and back. HOWWWWWW does the number jump from $89 to $350 to $700?? I asked him to explain the break down and thennnn after he started mumbling on he said $70 for today's service but $350 if I were to get my break pads changed. He "took measurement" of how thick they were and told me I'd need it to get fixed. SIDE NOTE: This car was purchased in July with all brand new pads and rotors so I know none of it needed to be done. JUST ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP FISHING FOR SCAM MONEY. After I got home I did some research on the shop to find another lady who got her car done here and was also told the same thing: she needed new pads and rotors for the price of $350. Not a coincidence. Just a script for more money. You know what the real script is though? Their response to all these complaints on Yelp. No real customer service or integrity, just copy and pasting LOL. Definitely not trusting them with my car again. Next time could be a lot worse. read more

We got here before they opened so we could be seen first. Warmly greeted by a woman who took our information quickly as we arrived. Very professional. Immediately after we get checked in two more vehicles showed up and I could hear her say "Really? Already?" And the other attendant muttered with irritation in his voice "It's fuckin' Sunday". I can understand being a little frustrated, but I would like to assume that having so many clients even at 8am on a Sunday is a good thing (aren't weekends usually busy at all businesses?). They performed the inspection and service quickly, vacuumed the vehicle and we were done in approximately 40 minutes. Groupon was being finicky and wouldn't discount the service. But they honored it anyways, thankfully. Other than the slight lapse of professionalism, overall an okay place for the price. read more

Do not trust. They take shortcut by pressurizing the engine to push/suck the oil out of the dipstick hole so that they don't have to bother with the drain plug. Been here 2x now for a regular oil change and was recommended by someone else. I call beforehand to find out what the wait is. I've been in and out in 15 minutes both times going there in the morning. I appreciate the window washing, car vacuum, and fluid top off services. Yes, they will inundate you with various types of oils at higher prices. Yes, they will tell you what additional services they think you need. But, they have yet to push me to buy any of these services. I just politely say "thank you for letting me know, but I just want to get an oil change today". However, it's a good reminder for myself to see if I do need any services done soon. read more
