At first I gave this location 5 stars, but I must update after what happened to my car. After leaving Jiffy Lube on Friday Nov 17th I headed to Newport Beach for a dinner, all of a sudden my temperature gauge starts going crazy. I pull off the highway and smoke was coming from under the hood as I rolled to a stop. I got my car towed to another mechanic in the area and he told me the engine is completely ruined and I need an entire new engine for 4,000 dollars. It's funny how the car started doing this RIGHT after leaving Jiffy Lube. I spoke to the manager and he is trying to deny any wrong doing and wants a complete diagnosis from another mechanic to prove the error was on their end. At this point the car is only worth 3,000 dollars so it's not worth it for me to go to all this trouble for a $3,000 car. Please do not bring your car here for service, my car worked great for years before going to this location, they completely ruined my engine and now I have no car. read more

Alright...where do I start...I am a loyal customer with Jiffy Lube but usually go to a different location that is close to Cal State Long Beach which the location is wayy nicer!! But since this location on PCH is closer to where I live...I thought it would be the same deal...same service...same deals. Boy was I wrong. I pulled up by myself with my engine light service on...Mexican bald guy...i believe his name was Rudy. He seemed nice from the beginning cracking jokes on my nationality and it was funny. He asks what do i need done today...I say well my engine light is on so i would like to see what i need done. He says you most likely need an oil change...i said yes i know that one for sure but i know last time I visited Jiffy Lube they recommended a couple of services. I had the money mind you this for whatever services i needed. So we go inside he lets me know what i need done and the last time they recommended a tranny flush which was about 130 or so...i say i want to get that out the way along with the oil change...He tries to play me like he has a coupon...he read through everything really quick...and i was wondering he must have gave me a great discount because my total was 100.48. My GUY friend shows up because we are to go for lunch right after and he notices that they are not performing a tranny flush as i requested but instead an engine flush and an oil change....mind you i did not ask for this. He even seen i marked it off my recommended sheet as i thought this was being completed so i wont have to worry next time. I brought it Rudys attention and he tries to tell him that he explained everything to me and he is getting pretty upset and raising his voice that if it isn't that hard then he should have done it himself. This is not professional at all no matter how much the customer complains. Thank goodness for the manager, he wrote off the engine flush as they had already performed this and i paid a little extra for the tranny...this was fine i just wanted to get out of there. They finally finish up...i drive away and my car rides soooo smoothly...and boom...ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON! They obviously do a weak job as a mechanic because now i have to go back this weekend for them to see this. I'm seriously annoyed because i never wanted to deal with their drama again. They took my car in right away and after 10 min a tech calls me over and starts to go over the paperwork. Low and behold, its not $29.99 for an oil change, but $83.00 :( My response "please back my car up, I shall pass" I think they count on most customers just letting it go, as the car is already in the service bay. No way Jose, I was pissed. First off, be honest about the price, don't take my car into the service bay & 10 min later call me in to tell me its 3X the amount stated. That's a complete waste of my time as well as theirs. I drive a 2013 Honda, its not high performance, or anything special & NO reason to charge me 3X the advertised rate. Went here to get a oil change which was just fine, no complaints about that. The problem occurred when they approached me about getting my transmission flushed. Big mistake! I blame myself for not referencing my owners manual and expecting an Honest assessment from the workers there. After getting the transmission flushed is when the problems started happening. I found out from another mechanics shop that they used the wrong transmission oil in my car. This has caused irreparable harm to my transmission. Note: I have had no problems with my transmission prior to their "service" there. Advice: do not get transmission flush there. It is used as a method of performing high priced unnecessary maintenance at the cost of the consumers. read more

The service and workers are great but trained to repeat lies, can't blame them for "doing their job" I would stay away from jiffy lube and stick to the dealership for oil changes. Twice the under filled me almost causing my vehicle damage. They recommend regular oil sometimes then synthetic as a guess. Then they said that my vehicle was burning the oil up maybe because of leaking valves. This "fast burning oil" incident only occurred with them, not even Walmart burned me.
