I would not recommed Jiffy Lube Oil Change Station to any one. I visited 374 Miller Ave Mill Valley ca, The employees are not paying attention to the work or customer question. I arrived with a coupon for $30.00 off. I ask the employee if I could use the coupon prior to working on my car. The employee look at my coupon and said yes give it to them when i pay. I was told prior to working on my car that I could use the coupon. Then when I go to pay I am told this doesnt work here. It is not my resposibilty to know what coupon this business takes. In addition very poor job at cleaning my windows streaks all over. This is a service that is included. I was unable to speak to Chris the Manager I was told he left earily for the day. I was told by the employee that Chris due to the discrepancy would probally give me half off my next oil change and straighten it out. I finally spoke to Chris very argumentive and lacks customer service. Chris does not care that his employee said I could use my coupon. I should have looked here before going to this place. . I cannot say it strongly enough... DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! . While I was there the service was fine, no up selling, just stupid stuff about using the "manufacturers recommended" oil (of course it was the most expensive) . The car seemed fine when I left. . However when I used my wipers later in the day, both were ripped in exactly the same place, but had been fine that morning before my visit. . Then a few days later my battery died... it was actually smoking and bone dry! While I cannot prove anything I suspect that they removed water from my battery or sabotaged it somehow. . Too many coincidental failures too close to my service. My $37 oil change ended up costing me over $150 extra. . I should also mention, both things broken were items they sell... needless to say I didn't go there to get them replaced. read more

(I'm giving them a one as zero isn't an option) PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, ESP THE WOMEN IN YOUR LIFE! Foolishly took my car into Jiffy Lube in Mill Valley for something other than an oil change (my mechanic wasn't available). They misdiagnosed my car and lied to me that they had checked with the manufacturer, as evidenced by adjusting factory settings that weren't supposed to be changed. The tech showed me the before (unbroken seals) and after (broken seals). The car was worse...stalling on the freeway!!! Finally was able to get the car to my mechanic and they diagnosed the original problem and confirmed Jiffy Lube caused more damage. I didn't get anywhere with the manager. Nor the district manager. And just spoke with the owner. He refused to consider that his tech would lie about the work he did and insinuated that I did; 'you must be wrong'. He's refusing to do anything about it!!! So I told him that if he's comfortable losing my business along with countless others by my sharing my exp on FB, suing him for the damage and my time lost at $300/hr, filing a complaint w/the BBB and reporting him to his corp office, then that was what I was going to do. It didn't phase him. I calmly told him fine and said this is evidence of how poorly he runs his biz and lack of interest in being truly successful. I invite you to share my experience with others and to stay away from Jiffy Lube...in my mind they stole my money and my time....and it's not ok to steal from customers! read more

NEGATIVE 50 STARS HERE!!!! I could not have had a worse experience here! After a $75.00 oil change they failed to fit the oil cap on properly. Only after smelling fumes inside the car and checking under the hood did I realize this. The cap was gone & there was oil ALL over the engine compartment (in puddles), on the inside of the hood, all over the front of my plastic grill which baked in from the heat, and on the plastic head light! The manager Chris was just AWFUL!!!! Not once did I get an apology for the damage and stress caused (after having to go to Napa Auto Parts for an interim replacement cap and having the clerk tell me "I hate Jiffy Lube. This is not the first time they have done this, and it won't be the last, someones car caught on fire from this same problem" and that I should make sure that I didn't have any more oil puddles before driving any further). All the manager, Chris, did was argue with me about how my new cap fit fine, that my grill was already faded and that my headlights had a yellow film on them. I want to stress here that I tried over and over again to tell him that I wasn't concerned about the faded grill or yellowing of the headlights but that my grill looked horrible, as well as the headlights and engine compartment with the oil spots everywhere! He did not offer ANY solution until I told him that I would take them to small claims to have these items replaced. Only then did he offer to clean the headlamps, and put back to black on the grill, which they didn't have any of & was told I would have to come back to have him work on. Maybe because I am a woman he thought he could intimidate me with arguing. Not the case. Long story short, the manager Chris is a MAJOR (would love to use a different word her) jerk and loves to argue, lie and not offer any sort of customer service. I have NO idea how these guys are still in business, especially after reading the other negative reviews/experiences. This place needs a serious management overhaul! NEVER EVER EVER GO HERE!!!! My certificate finally arrived, four months after I had my synthetic oil changed. Two problems: 1) it was for $20, not the $25 promised; 2) the check expires in two months, six months before my car is scheduled for its next change. Jiffy Lube corporate tells me that even though Jiffy Lube and Pennzoil are both owned by Shell, Jiffy Lube takes no responsibility for participating in a fraudulent Pennzoil promotion. Good to see they are busy but a better system is required - or they should tell you before you get out your car. Update: Just got my Jeep back from the dealer this week. $1764 later for a new radiator and thermostat housing. Reminder: my leak started the day after my oil change at Jiffy Lube. Then I went back and they attempted to pressure test it, blowing hot coolant all over the engine compartment. The Jeep dealer said the pressure test was clearly done too high and caused the second leak as well. No response at all from Jiffy Lube. I will never go there again and will tell anyone I can not to go there either. Its a small town and service that bad cannot last. As a bonus my Jeep still reeks of coolant since they covered the entire front end and engine bay with it. Thanks again, Jiffy Lube! Worst service ever!! read more

Every time you go in, they lie. For starters, they try to sell you things your car does not need. Filters, wipers, whatever. Today, they told me my wipers were just fine. Last time they told me they were in dangerous condition. I never changed them. Hmmm...must have healed themselves. The "Greeter" told me, according to his records, I had used the much much more expensive synthetic oil last time I was in. I told him I had never used that oil.He said, "Oh. My mistake". It was no mistake. These guys lie every time you go in there. Today, I had two coupons with me, and the "greeter" said they would honor both the $11 dollars off the oil change and the 15% off the service if I bought an $18 air filter. We discussed it so there would be no misunderstanding. But when it came time to pay, they only took 15% off the air filter, for a savings of less than $3. Then they said it must have been a misunderstanding. It wasn't a misunderstanding. I know we"re only talking about a few bucks here, but no matter who is working here, they lie. Must be part of the Jiffy LUbe training manual: "Lie to all customers" . If you want to know what it's like to be lied to, go to Jiffy LUbe in Mill Valley and ask any question. As a loyal customer of 10 years, it sickens me to write this review. But I did notify the Jiffy Lube Corporate Office of my horrible experience and gave them a heads up that I would be posting my review. So they had fair warning. So I have taken my cars to Jiffy Lube for any repair or part replacements that are not absolutely neccesary for the dealer or other mechanic to repair/replace etc, for the past ten years. After today that has all changed. I have never been treated so poorly and arrogantly by a Auto Repair Manager, let alone a Mechanic. I actually was so annoyed by my experience that I called back a few hours after the incident to speak with the Manager/Mechanic named Chris' manager, his supervisor or the owner. I was given the brush off/runaround by an Asian gentleman who answered the phone today at 5:50pm on Thursday May 12th. When I asked to speak to Chris' supervisor or the owner, the guy on the phone was completely useless. Apparently, he did not know anything about the company or people he worked for. After pressing him for 10 minutes, and repeating that I did not want to Speak to his Manager, Chris, because I intended to file a complaint against Chris. I wanted to speak with Chris' supervisor, he told me he did not know who the owner was. He told me that Chris' boss was a regional Manager named "Sul', spelled SUL. However, after reading previous Yelp Reviews, I discovered that Chris' boss is named Saul. Mistery solved. I am not sure what specific role Saul plays at Jiffy Lube #655; owner, regional manager or othetwise. This review/complaint is for Saul, the owner of this business, Jiffy Lube Corporate Office (formal complaint previously filed), and my Fellow Yelpers. My Review: After having Chris replace the Coolant Resevior in my Mercedes Benz, he offered/recommended that I have a Diagnostic Test ($100 value) performed to determine why my Check Engine Light was triggered. Chris told me that if after the Diagnostic Test was performed and I decided to allow Jiffy Lube Mill Valley #655 to do the repairs, he would waive the $100 Fee. I agreed to this. I came back for the Diagnostic Test a week later, May 12, 2016. I arrived at 9:30am, because Chris had previously told me that even though Jiffy Lube opens at 8am, they don't start repairs until 9:30am. I am assuming this is due to Chris' personal work schedule. I got the impression that Chris had a second job elsewhere. Chris told me that he couldn't get to my care for a couple of hours because he was working on a Mazda that had been there for 2 days and was not sure if he could get to my car today. He asked if I could come in tomorrow, Friday May 13 2016. I told him I couldn't because I had to work. I then asked if he could call me when he was finished with the Mazda. He agreed. Chris called me at 12:43pm and told me that he would only run the Diagnostic Test if I agreed before hand to leave my car at Jiffy Lube #655 for 2 to 3 days and allow Jiffy Lube #655 to perform all of the repairs. I told Chris that due to my occupation, I could not be without a vehicle for 2 to 3 days. Chris became very arrogant and condescending, telling me that it wouldn't be worth his time to perform a Diagnostic Test if I did not agree upfront to leave my car at Jiffy Lube #655 for 2 to 3 days and allow him to perform all of the repairs. I believe that Chris assumed that because I am a woman that I would go along with any random story/excuse that he could come up with. Instead, I reminded Chris of his previous offer: that if after the Diagnostic Test was performed and I did not want Jiffy Lube #655 to perform the repairs I would still have to pay for the $100 Fee (So how was it not worth his time? Does this Mechanic make over $100 per Hour? If so, why is he working for Jiffy Lube, and not Mercedes Benz?). chris told me that I would not be able to find another mechanic, at a dealership or otherwise, that could perform the work faster. I declined and told Chris I would take my chances with another mechanic, despite wasting hours waiting for Chris to fix a Mazda. And I am so glad that I did. I immediately drove to Marin Auto Works at 375 Miller Avenue in Mill Valley, literally across the street from Jiffy Lube #655 374 Miller Avenue Mill Valley (they had previously replaced a Gas Cap for me and were recommended by a previous mechanic at Jiffy Lube #655. I told the mechanic that my Check Engine Light had been triggered ad that I heard a noise in the engine. This Mechanic diagnosed that my water pump needed replacing in 10 minutes. It is an $800 repair that will be completed tomorrow afternoon. Thank goodness for experienced and honest Auto Mechanics! read more

I requested that the dash light sensor be reset as I had a tire replaced a few days before the oil change. When I got in my truck to leave after the oil change the light was still on. The girl told me "oh it will reset once you drive for a little bit". Not only did it never go off when I turn my right turn signal on now it blinks twice as fast as it used to! I've been getting my oil changed at Jiffy in Mill Valley for about a decade. Always great service, reasonable waits, and a very professional and helpful staff. Most recently I was looking for a spot to get my Air Conditioning recharged. They did a fantastic job, and spent considerable time diagnosing and fixing an leak in one of the hoses that was NOT part of a simple recharge - and no extra costs. Kudo's to Bob who was working on my SUV, and everyone else there. BTW the new Keurig coffee makers is an nice upgrade from gas station coffee. read more

Nothing Jiffy about it. It was just about an hour total, they were moderately busy but not swamped. 10 minutes before they rolled my car in, 5 minutes spent declining other services, and 45 minutes in the shop for a simple oil change. A few guys were walking around talking on their cell phones, several more (they seem to have a large staff) standing around talking, no one attending to my car or the car next to mine for about 30 minutes. The receipt I received had checked off that they had washed my windows and vacuumed the interior, neither of which were done. I don't really care about the latter, I can wash my car later, but like most people I know what I want, I'm there because I'm in a hurry, and I don't want to be upsold a bunch of unnecessary services. Compared to other places I've used in the past, these guys are slow. read more

After reading all the terrible reviews I was reluctant to go but needed to have our old Dodge Caravan serviced quickly so someone could borrow it. Surprise! The employees, especially Jason, were efficient and pleasant, there was no pressure or upselling attempt, they gave me choices of oil types, actually informed me that the air filter was still fine, noted the typical old-car weaknesses but without pushing to do any extra service, cleaned all the outside windows, charged me the $41.00 as promised, and even called to let me know I'd left my empty grocery bags at the office. I used their garage service to install a used engine. The job was a total disaster and installation failed after one month. Since I was in the middle of nowhere, I couldn't tow the car back to the shop for repair. It would have cost me a lot more to tow it in, then wait for another week to get it fixed, etc. Besides, I have no confidence that they can do the job properly and I could be stranded again. They are good for the routine oil change, but not for major job as they claim. read more

I had about $4 in quarters in a dashboard slot and they took all of them. Super annoying after the upsell ritual that we always have to go through. I started replacing my air filters before I go to get my oil change so that there is less to sell to me. Today, they said my brake lights were out. I went to get a quick oil change. Jiffy means fast. In a Jiffy, not, wait forever. I got there at 10 am, it's Columbus Day. Three bays. Two have cars. Five workers. I'm waived to third bay. Nice Aian man waves me inside. I watch my car pulled up over hole. Car mats vacuumed check. Top of fluid, check, wait 30 minutes while 5 people watch man do other two car activities. I walk outside. Tall man says, "Just wait, you were not first". I say, "my car has been sitting for twenty minutes ", he gets nasty, says, Go inside and wait. Ten more minutes. All six people gather around other cars. They are not Lambourghini's. They are Hondas. I have a Prius. I am not a spoiled rich girl. I like watching TV in the dirty room, and drinking coffee with Cremona. A girl worker comes inside. She kicks open the coffee cabinet with her shoes. She adds ten more plastic cups to the twenty already there. Wipes off the counter with her hand. I eagerly ask if my car is done. She stares blindly ahead and with a fiendish glee says, Only that tall guy can put in your oil. She reminds me my carpets were vacuumed thirty minutes ago. I tell her I had the car washed in and out an hour ago. Finally, mean, tall man pulls my car outside. My keys inside. A rag stuffed in the car door. i wish i could give no stars. horrible experience. yes, it is convenient but i will never go back despite living close. i got called up to discuss my car and was told many times that i needed to buy more stuff. i had to repeatedly say, no, i don't want anything else. the man then got mad that i wouldn't upgrade oil or by filters from them and continued to make fun of me once i had walked back to the waiting room. the other men there were more respectful and even apologetic; however, there are too many other places available to even think about going here again. side note - it wasn't as quick as other places have been, i was there for about 25 minutes. read more

I usually change my own oil, so I know my own engine. However, I've been really busy and didn't want to let my oil change slide so I went to Jiffy. I ask about the cost and they reference their sign which says $37.99. Sounds good. Then they pull my car in and call me over. They immediately start trying to upsell me, pushing synthetic oil at double the cost. I tell them that the manufacturer of my vehicle does not recommend synthetic oil for my car, and oddly, I notice this same statement ON THEIR COMPUTER SCREEN!! Yet the guy tells me I'm wrong and keeps pushing higher priced oil. I say I'd like to stick with the standard oil. He starts taping a chart which shows all the oils and prices with his pen, tapping it on a slightly less expensive synthetic oil. I have to again say I want the regular oil and he gives me a demeaning raised eyebrow look. WTF?? Then he says my air filter really bad and needs replacement. Its sitting there in front of me and doesn't look to bad. Plus he wants $20 and has already been an ass to me. I tell him no, I can change that in 2 minutes on my own. He says he'll take $5 off (which I hear him say to every customer after me. Obviously his little scam to make people feel like they got a deal.) I know I can buy a filter for $8 so again I say no. Then he says he'll take $10 off. Ok, save me a trip to the parts store for $2, sure. But then its suddenly $15 again when I get the bill! All I wanted was a basic oil change with the correct oil, standard 30W. WAY TOO MUCH PRESSURE AND UPSELLING HERE!!! I got ganked and I am pissed. I came in for a change in brake pads. I got swindled into getting new rotors which my mechanic later said that I did not need. * I asked the manager before hand many times. "Do I really need this? What is the shape...etc." His response, "if you want to do this right way...longevity of rotors, yes they are warped." He said all this without looking at them. Rotors are not that much, but if you think of the time spent on labor, I paid a lot. I really hate losing money and I am outright mad. The only reason how I knew I was taken for was because I asked for the old rotors. I took them to Malugani, and they said that they were perfectly good. I even took them for an additional review, same thing, perfectly good. Jiffy Lube, manager Chris, sweet talker. My friend confronted him about it and he denied ever persuading me to buy new rotors. Do not go in for brake service. They do not have a machine that resurfaces. You will end up paying $500 easy for a $200 job. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! On June 6, 2016 I paid $79.49 to have the oil changed on my VW Bug Convertible at this Jiffy Lube. On June 22 my check oil light went on so I brought my vehicle to a reputable mechanic (established in Mill Valley since 1972 with 4.7 stars on Yelp). They checked the vehicle and informed me that the oil was leaking because the oil drain plug and pan were damaged and the plug was unable to be tightened securely. The apparent cause was failing to remove the cross brace in order to access the plug properly during the oil change. The plug had been damaged and the pan and plug stripped by attempting to remove the plug without direct access. There are marks on the cross brace where access had been attempted and the brace is scratched markedly. Going in at an angle to remove the plug had stripped both it and the oil pan receptacle. The cost for the repair was $937.44. When I went to Jiffy Lube and spoke with Chris A., the manager, and showed him the images of the damage, he said that I could not prove that the marks had occurred in their shop and they may have occurred in the sixteen days between their service and the mechanic's service. He also said that since I had the car repaired with another mechanic their service was no longer under warranty. I asked him as a rational being in my situation whom he would believe and he said "the mechanic" who repaired my car. He stated that his staff removes the cross brace 99 percent of the time because it is standard procedure....guess my car fell into the one percent. He offered to take 50% off my next service as if I'll ever bring my car there again. BEWARE! read more

Today I went for a regular oil change. And the manager showed me my dirty filters -- one had a dead bug. I'm driving around with those filters? The prices for the filters seemed high so I declined. I went to the auto parts store afterwards and bought the two filters for much less. And guess what? Neither filter needed replacing! It was a scam -- and I am a female and a senior. Shock! And I believe this is an illegal practice. I only realized afterwards (thanks you tube video) that the cabin air filter is behind the glove box -- and there is no way they removed the glove box. I guess I need to call the BBB. When I drove away I realized my tire pressure gauge was still alight -- so they probably didn't put air in the tires. And now I wonder and am concerned about whether they changed the oil?? Vacuum the floor, clean the windows for $50?? Less than one star. read more
