I've been going to this Jiffy Lube for years because the employees are always so helpful and kind. I hear often about places trying to push extra services and expenses to people who don't know a lot about cars (especially women) being--I have found my experience here to be the opposite! I am so grateful for the young man who noticed my serpetine belt was so worn out that it was about to break! He referred me to the Lake Oswego Jiffy Lube, where it could be replaced. I was in for a front headlight replacement and he noticed the belt. He showed me that a large portion was splitting in 2. The car is a 2009 Mercedes so it was probably just very old. And Mercedes would charge me an arm and a leg. I was able to get in to the LO Jiffy Lube the next night and get it taken care of. I was on pins and needles for 24 hours, afraid it would snap and I would be stranded on the side of the road at any moment - but it is all taken care of now and I am good to go! I didn't get the young mans name but he was tall and thin and had light brown hair and so spoke rather fast. He was working the evening of 11/13/23. I stopped in today for an oil change and was cashed out by Jack, who pointed out a few other services my car was in need of (did not feel like a hokey up-sale that I've experienced at other mechanics). Went to Jiffy Lube for the first time to get an oil change, they had reasonable prices and great deals. Amazing customer service, Andrew specifically was awesome. Communication was great, they let me know what my car was also in need of and all prices were quite reasonable. I recently had my old changed here on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving in preparation for a 780+ road trip to Salt Lake for the holidays. When I arrived in Salt Lake I noticed my car leaking oil wherever I parked. I immediately went to the nearest JL location in Salt Lake and had them take a look. The oil filter was not even hand tight on my car as well as the cap on the end of it. The tech told me oil was leaking everywhere and had even covered the skid plate of my car. The oil wasn't even registering on the dip stick at that point. They replaced the filter, made sure it was tight this time, and topped off the oil in my engine, it took 2/12 quarts. The tech told me had I not discovered the issue odds are my engine would have seized on the trip back home because it would have undoubtedly been out of oil at that point. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS LOCATION HAS NOT TAKEN THE TIME TO SEE IF EVERYTHING WAS ON TIGHT AND I HAVE HAD TO GO BACK AND HAVE THEM DOUBLE CHECK THEIR SHOTTY WORK. If there has been any permanent damage to my car I will be filing a lawsuit immediately. Luckily my receipt has the names of the inept techs who "worked" on my car and they will be included personally. read more

Due to a coolant leak issue, I pulled into the neighboring 7-11 and walked over to ask for advice from the team at the Jiffy Lube on Barbur, not far from Terwilliger. After a little back and forth and trying stuff myself, I determined my radiator hose had popped loose. I took it to the Jiffy Lube, and they determined that was correct and FIXED IT FOR FREE. They didn't need to do that. They were busy enough, and I was willing to provide at least the cost of the coolant they replaced, if not more. They went above and beyond and weren't condescending to an older woman with an older car. Nice. read more

I had a terrible experience today at this location. I am a college student at Lewis & Clark College and came to Jiffy Lube because of the advertised coupon for an oil change for $22.99. Upon arriving at the store, they tried to tell me that my oil change was going to be $100 dollars and I had to have the synthetic oil because my car is Hybrid. When I pushed them on it, they told me that they could give me the synthetic blend oil. So they basically tried to have me purchase the most expensive option available. After trying to trick me into buying the most expensive oil, they proceeded to list about 10 things that are wrong with my car and are impending that I fix. I had my car check recently by a trusted car technician who told me about none of these issues, so I sincerely believe they where trying to take advantage of the fact that I am a 20 year old girl college student who presumably does not know much about cars. After bombarding me with issues that are supposedly wrong with my car, I was given a slip of paper asking for a "5 star review". Next time, be kinder and don't try to take advantage of people. read more

My car was damaged while waiting to get an oil change. They put up a windshield wiper stand with wheels on an uneven surface and it was blown over by the wind into my car. It's been months and the regional manager has been slow boating working with me to agree to the repairs. The store manager John told me the regional manager James Kelly who is responsible in resolving this incident has been on vacation because he has to use his PTO before the end of the year. Beware the Upcharges! I went to JIffy Lube yesterday for an oil change before a trip. The service was prompt and professional, which I appreciated. My only gripe is that I accepted an offer of a fuel additive to "remove water from and clean your system". I'm angry with myself for agreeing without asking the cost. When I got the bill, I was shocked by a charge of $129.99 for a a "two part fuel system cleaning", which appeared to a small bottle of additive which looked suspiciously like a store brand version similar to the STP fuel cleaner system -- available from Amazon for less than $10. I suppose the minute it took to pour into my gas tank was worth something, but not $120. Never again. read more

I don't know why I do it....jiffy lube really is the worst. Their prices have skyrocketed and I won't blame it on inflation bc it's labor not the product. I'm aware at how much oil is and it certainly isn't $87.00! Once again I went and there was nobody there. The guys were rude, they do NOT vacuum your vehicle, they don't even drive your car out into the driveway anymore and it has nothing to do with covid bc they were all up in my car-in fact didn't even put the seat back to upright position. All in all it was a stupid choice to go there and waste my money! They are an all around rip off and I highly recommend not going to jiffy lube bc this is not an isolated location, the last 3 locations I've been to have all been terrible. I do not recommend this place to anyone! They make errors and won't correct their own mistakes. They gave me this card telling me to review them and of course they want 5 stars then after they changed my oil checking the lights and turn off the feature on my car that automatically turns off the light. So my car died that night and it's an honest mistake as long as they fix it. I spoke to Justice at the front desk who said he understood the issue and it was obviously do something for me for the hassle. I was then transferred to Brandon to help me who acted like a jerk and said it was my fault that I did not know they turned that feature off my car. I let him know about this yelp review I would post and that good customer service matters. He said I won't be black mailed, cussed me out and hung up on me. I will never use this place again. Don't come here if you're a girl just save your 250 dollars and go to a trusted mechanic. I asked for a oil change and they didn't even do it they just topped it off and then proceeded to say my coolant needed to be replaced or my car would break down in the highway. This was my first car and I should've listen to my father when he said that didn't sound right but I was terrified of ruining the car I had just bought so I believed them. In sum, there are employees here who either don't know what they're doing or are willing to commit fraud to sell services. I brought my wife's car in for an oil change and made the mistake of telling the guy serving me that I didn't drive the car and wasn't sure what maintenance had been done on it. After the check, he gave me a dire speech about how my brake pad level was dangerously low, and he solemnly told me that if I drove out of the Jiffy Lube without getting them changed and got into an accident, I would be liable for any damages because the brake pads were so unsafe. I was tempted to ask him where he got his law degree, but I would have gotten the pads changed if I had time. My wife took the car to the dealer the following week because she was having some other issues as well, and I told her she probably needed to get the brakepads replaced. The dealer told her the brake pads only had about 5% wear and were essentially brand new. Neither explanation-- dishonest or totally incompetent--for the dire tale the service tech gave me at Jiffy Lube is a flattering one. It's a shame, because I've been here a half dozen times and have been mostly satisfied with the work. I will say I brought a '96 Corvette here and they told me they absolutely couldn't get it on the pit because it was too low and I needed to drive to another Jiffy Lube that had specialized equipment. When I arrived at the other Jiffy Lube and explained I needed the special equipment, the tech there basically told me I was a dipshit and a stock Corvette would have two or three inches of clearance on their standard pit. read more

I always hate these kind of quick lube places, however, I was swayed by their 19.99 banner. What could I do? I thought I should try it. I hesitated at the entrance for them to point me into the proper lane. I go to the left lane (which the line is longer) as they direct me. I just turn off the engine and someone else waves me over to the right lane. Then I'm asked if I want to wait in the car. Yes, I say. They say we will vacuum if you get out. So, I get out and stand outside (relatively nice that day). As yet a third guy gets out and moves my car back to the right lane. This is already driving me crazy as we've done nothing but move this thing back and forth with no results and this is not instilling confidence. They finally get me up to where they are changing the oil. I was relieved to note that they did not ask my name, address, phone number for their records nor did they try to badger me to buy air filters, etc. A guy with the name "Kid" on his shirt washed my front window and said there was something on there he couldn't get off of it. When I got home I discovered it was some sort of oil product which I know wasn't on there before because it was right where I always look. The next day, I took it to the car wash to get it cleaned off. I think they drug something greasy across the window. As far as I know they did a good job. I haven't had any problems since I left there. I've heard many problems with various quick lube business because of the minimum wage staff they hire, however, this seemed fine. Had my oil changed in Aug 2020 on a babied 2016 4Runner. After the job, I decided to pop open the hood before driving off the lot to ensure quality maintenance. When I popped open my hood, I noticed a bottle cap and the oil dip stick not properly pushed all the way in. I showed a mechanic who then played it off by grabbing the bottle cap and pushing the dip stick in. I told him to get the manager. The manager rudely asked me "what do you want me to do"? I told him that I am not confident that quality maintenance was done given the circumstances. He looked over the vehicle and when I told him to look under to make sure my oil plug is on correctly he just said "it is". Bottom line. I'm not coming back here and I recommend everyone to look over the job. Sometimes those that knows nothing about cars are the best set of eyes because they ask the questions that makes mechanic tap dance. read more

Went in for an oil change before a 1,000 mile trip. They went over what kind of oil I should get and answered my questions, I left feeling good about my service. But after I got home, I noticed that my invoice had in the service comments "Noticeable Engine Oil Leak." This was not discussed with me at all, no one said a single thing about this to me. I decided that if it was something to worry about, they would have told me and decided to head out on my trip, since I had told them I was going on a 1,000 mile trip. But then during one of the stops during my trip, I notice a huge puddle of oil under my car! I moved my car a little bit and came back a few minutes later and another puddle is there! The oil is pouring out of my car! I start worrying that enough oil might have been lost that it may be bad to keep driving my car, so I go to check the oil and notice that they left the coolant cap off and it's just sitting on another part of my car! After checking the oil, I see there's about a quarter left, I decide that that's enough to make it a couple miles to the closest Jiffy Lube, which was in Stockton CA. I get there and they tell me that the Barbur Jiffy Lube had left the drainage cap loose, so that's why my car was pouring oil. Left the drainage cap loose?! Isn't that one of the most obvious things to tighten after changing the oil??? They also tell me that the coolant was low and they fill it up. They say that the Barbur Jiffy Lube did a rushed, bad job and that I should never go back there. I'm honestly furious with this Jiffy Lube. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. read more
