I arrived before 9am, excited to see only 1 car ahead of me. I was told that they only had the one bay open so far, and the wait would be about 25 minutes. I actually had another errand to run nearby, so I accepted. The 25 ended up closer to 20, and it was my turn. I needed the DEQ test and an oil change. Somehow that still took over an hour from this point. I understand all the upsells (I even accepted a couple filters this time), but how in the world does basic service take close to an hour and a half? They did open the 2nd bay, but another woman sitting with me in the waiting area was experiencing the same thing. Wild. Honestly, the girl working was great and didn't add to an otherwise exhausting experience. The price was decent, as well. I only ended up at this location because the DEQ machine at the one I usually hit was broken. They performed basic as usual, asking if I wanted to buy extra stuff for my car, of course I said no. So yesterday I stopped at jiffy lube for a fluid check and was told that I need transmission fluid and motor oil and antifreeze but I decided not to get antifreeze but to get the other two I left from there I went to go pick up my son and all of a sudden my car started smoking. The car came to a stop on the freeway, and when I pop the hood, my radiator cap was halfway on and flew. It was all over by engines after I was told to a mechanic shop they said that oil have fried something in my system so I call Jiffy Lube and reported the incident to management and a gentleman act like he didn't care, so I called corporate, hopefully I can get some response because now I'm out of the car read more

Good evening Jason, i got your email from a yelp review, i assume you own the jiffy lube on Halsey street in Portland, OR. If so, I'm speaking to the right person. This is my first correspondence about the issue I have regarding the service I received on Saturday, February 22,2023 ar 2:22 pm. I came in for a signature service which cost about $120 with a military discount. There were no other customers and 5-6 employees present. I was in the bay for a maximum of only 15 minutes, that's giving some extra credit, would of been about 5 if I didn't ask for my tire pressure to be checked. I asked if the transmission fluid, gearboxes, and other fluids and been checked a couple times and given the same awnser, oh yeah, there good. I have been a mechanic for a long time and even worked in a jiffy lube 25 years ago, I know it takes longer to do those checks than what they did. How do they check the transmission fluid when the engine isnt running, didnt see them check it initially. I was sitting in the car the whole time with my wife and kids. It makes me skeptical if they even changed the oil filter. Anyways my concern is this last week i felt the transmission shifting a little differently so when I got home i checked the transmission fluids was a full 2 quarts low of dex/merc. 5. There's no leaks in the system and not sure where the fluid went but is surely wasn't checked or topped off during the service. If I didn't catch it, or if I wasn't around my wife would have came in not knowing that the Services weren't completely to the fullest and could have ruined the transmission, and other gearbox, pumps that should have been rightfully checked. The quick in and out service was worth 30-40 at best for a quick oil change, there was no actual signature service completed on this day, not by these guys. I figured I would bring this to your attention so it wont bite you in the future. Not that money is an issue, but I don't feel I got my money's worth on this deal. 5:13pm April 24, 2019 It's funny. New staffs today for my oil changed. The guy who quoted me a price for 99 dollars looks like never sleep for long time ago. He just said that is our price. I've been here from I bought this car and it is at least 5 times I have oil changed here and never heard that price so hight. Then after checking my record, the manager names Christian told me the price goes up. And he could give me few bucks discount. Oh no. I said I dont need that discount. Every time I always prepare at least 15 dollars for tip for the good service. But today I got really disappointed for this new staffs. I keep coming here just because the good service from the old staff here. The price with 99$ is hight but adding with the bad attitude from the people made me feel real regret with all my expectations and my respectability. They put all that attitude and I dont feel safe with my oil changed when the staffs here dont feel happy about my questions. This is the place I trust from beginning with my 1st oil changed. I wish I can give 0 stars instead but it's not possible. I did an oil change a couple of weeks ago there and everything was great! Today after I left work at 6 and since they are few blocks away from where I work I decided to go there to have them check the oil Level because the light turned on as soon as I started driving. On this jiffy lube, they have 2 bays, they weren't busy at all, in one bay they were working on a car behind it another one and I was waiting in the bay where no cars in front of me. They finished the first car that was already there then the other car pulled in and there was only me waiting there. During all this time nobody has approached me and asked me why I was there .... I waiting 20 minutes then I said the hell with this place and I went and purchased 1 quart of oil on my own and saved time because I had to pickup my kids from daycare. Not sure how the manager still have a job at this place with super crappy customer service!!! DO not go there if you're looking foe great customer service! I have been using jiffy lube for many many years and this is the first time time I had this experience ... usually as soon as you pull in they come and ask you why you there ... at this place employees there do not CARE about their customers ... I went to this location last week for a simple high mileage oil change and I was very pleased with the service and the lack of "up selling". They would ask if I was interested in a service, I said no and that was it. They also did a great job of letting me know where my car was on the wear and tear scale for things like tire tread, air filter, brakes, etc... without pushing product. Which I appreciated. Without question, the best Jiffy Lube (or any other auto tune-up) experience I have had. For once, I did not feel as though I were being cheated or manipulated into paying for overpriced & unnecessary "fixes" as is common for a single woman with car troubles. Stiles and Leo took the time to thoroughly examine my ranger and explain what was going on; ranking the various tune-ups. They were honest about what needed immediate attention and what could wait, considerate of the financial strain I would be put under. They discovered a previous job gone wrong (at another location)on my brakes and went above and beyond to resolve the issue same day; putting my safety first. Stiles was kind enough to find as many discounts for me as she could and gave me further insight into the issues I needed to take care of. Dan and Amanda helped me today and I got great service! Dan (manager) was friendly, informative and NOT pushy like some other places!.. He let me know what I needed for my car along with factory recommendations and genuinely seemed to care. (I will be back to get my other services done very soon!) Windows were cleaned and car was vacuumed. All the Jiffy's do that, but I appreciate it more because of the weather here in Portland (and some other car places charge extra for that). I took my 1986 Isuzu Trooper in for a change of spark plugs and wires. The guys there discovered that one of the plugs was cross-threaded and VERY difficult to remove. After considerable coaxing, they finally got it out and showed it to me. They also had to tap (carve out new thread) the hole before putting in the new spark plug. I will only go to this Jiffy Lube location on Halsey from now on. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I went in for spark plugs and coil packs. I was told I might be there for a while as some parts were coming from the warehouse. I was given suggestions on where to get breakfast if I didn't want to wait in the lobby. 100% would recommend going to this location. I've had some bad experiences at Jiffy Lubes in the past. I swung by because I needed a fast oil change and it was close to where I live so I caved. I was pleasantly surprised. The guys were great. Cool, friendly and most importantly, helpful dudes. The car looked dirty and they offered to wash the windows and vacuum it; they even helped me figure out why a certain light was on. They didn't try to sell me on other stuff; just asked if I would want to know about other services they have and when I said no thanks, they respected that. read more

They do not honor coupons and recorded the mileage wrong by 70,000 miles and would not correct the mistake. It is the little things that set a good business apart from the bad. Came to this Jiffy Lube after the Jiffy Lube on Broadway said they don't do engine repair. The FitCar indicated a cylinder 4 misfire. They changed the spark plugs, that's it. It also indicated a low battery level. I told them to check it. They said it was fine and they reset the engine light. Less than two days later and less than 20 miles later the FitCar was going off about my clinder 4 misfire and my engine light came back on. I went to to Jiffy Lube on division...see there review on Yelp. read more

I took my car in for a simple diagnostics on a slight miss or starvation for gas symptoms & ended up with a $302.10 bogus bill I was convinced into paying! I drove in there but subsequently, was not able to drive out. I didn't receive my car for the following **6** days!! Wasn't even offered a ride home after 7 hours in the cold of waiting for a incompetent "technician" to destroy parts on my 2 month old car. In result, I was left with a broken cam shaft (that was okay) a bad ignition coil & a burnt cadillac converter. They then towed my car to another Jiffy Lube, in another state (was NOT told they were taking to Washington and you another store)that ultimately had to clean up their mess. Had I known this before I would've never allowed them being they weren't capable from the get go. Jose, a new recently sent manager from another store literally bait & switched me until he couldn't anymore, lied about having to look for parts for 3 days when I'm fact his employee had taken in his personal car entire time & ultimately only cared about covering his own ass & the ass off his incompetent"technician." I was overcharged & without a way to work, loss wages for 5 days BUT in the end a very nice manager from their Washington store, named "Zachary" fixed what the other shop broke.. in a total of 1 1/2 hrs. I am outraged, disappointed & feel completely taken advantage of. The bare minimum they can do is refund me my money $302.10 invoice that wasn't the problem in the first place. I had just purchased my 4runner and like I've always done is take it to jiffy lube and get my oil changed that's it. I'd went to a diff location because it was a closer jiffy.Well afterwards I started having a pretty bad issue. I then noticed my oil pressure gauge was showing zero oil pressure so I went to the jiffy location I'd always used and I was told that I was 4 qrts low. The tech forgot to put oil in my truck. There's no way that I went through 4qrts in 3 weeks. My truck don't leak anything at all nor does it burn it. Even if it did itd take longer than 3 weeks. Home of the $4,000 oil change! My girlfriend brought her Chevy Tracker in for a routine oil change. They advertised it would be $29.95. Little did we know it would end up costing a new engine for the car and about $4,000 in total expenses. The problem started when she took the car onto the interstate on a trip to Washington state. After a sudden loud noise of the kind you really don't want to hear when you're traveling down the interstate at night, the engine stopped. She called for a tow and had it brought to a mechanic in the nearest town. He took one look and said "here's your problem, the oil filter wasn't put on correctly. See all these little bits of metal underneath the gasket here? Those are parts of the engine. The oil was escaping from under the filter gasket because the filter wasn't on tight enough. The oil pressure gauge would have shown everything was normal even though oil was leaking out and not returning to the engine." A couple of days later (it took a couple days to round up a U-Haul with a car carrier), she got the car home and took it to another mechanic. He said the same thing: "See these bits of metal under the oil filter gasket? Oil filter wasn't installed properly. This is where the oil leaked out." Repeated conversations with Jiffy Lube Corporate and with the owner of this Jiffy Lube have been completely fruitless. Both corporate and the franchise owner have stonewalled: "nope, we won't pay for it, it's your problem." So we're $4,000 in the hole ($3100 for replacement engine, the rest in towing charges and cost of a U-Haul trailer to get the car back home). The mechanic in Portland said he's seen the same thing happen to other people as well--careless installation of an oil filter causing a wrecked engine. Won't be going back to Jiffy Lube, unless it's to serve papers for small-claims court. read more

My boyfriend and I just moved to the area and had no idea where a Jiffy Lube was but we passed by this location coincidently and we needed an oil change. I pulled up after work and Sophia (Sophie) gave me the warmest welcome and took me to the waiting area. She was very tentative and went over everything in our car--the good and bad! She even offered to bundle services and knock down the price next time we come in, since some of the repairs were a little pricey and it's technically my boyfriends vehicle. Friendliest place in the area for oil changes, very personable, and I should know considering my car leaked so badly i had to come in for top ups once a week for half a year. The staff made a point of getting to know me some which was appreciated. There is only one guy working here who I don't like and it's only because he assumes that because I'm female I'm car stupid enough to buy pointless things and tries to talk me into literally every service they offer every time and talks down to me. The men got me in instantly, didn't try to sell me anything accept exactly what I needed and then when they saw I also had a rock chip, fixed it for half off. We know all the things that are wrong with our vehicle and just wanted the basic service and not spend the extra $10 for them to list off all that is wrong & then get high pressure sales speech. Just wanted a quick in & out oil change. This did not sit well with James, the mechanic who we dealt with. He accused us of disrespecting him by not letting him do his job and gave us attitude. After the oil change was complete they pulled vehicle out of bay and starting work on next vehicle, clearly making us wait extra time (other customers hoods were dropped and checked out in a speedy fashion). At check out James was visibly irritated with us for not letting him up sell to us on something we did not want. They were plenty jiffy but I felt totally HOSED and LUBED! It was my first time using a jiffy. I wish I had read about or had asked someone what to expect. Those "upgrades" they talk you in to is the problem! I did need some extra things done. The guy kept saying "but this is discounted by $25 and this is $8 off...etc while pointing to his computer screen. I could not see the shielded computer screen unless I leaned (too far) into his personal space. He really held his ground in front of that screen. I could have SWORN he said $73 was my total "menu" so I said "that sounds good, let's do it" Each time I agreed to a menu item, he turned to tell his guys to perform the procedure. It was quite mesmerizing really,not unlike a casino experience! In my dazzled state I had agreed to $273! It all began with that $19.99 oil change special: Ouch! It was truly my fault. I went in to get my oil changed last weekend, and as I recently got a new car that requires synthetic oil, I was a bit shocked at the price: nearly 90 bucks for an oil change. At this point they had the hood up and were getting me checked in. However, I couldn't stomach the price, so I told them I was going elsewhere. They closed up my hood and I went on my way. Now, I'm at an oil can Henry's, and the price is the same; yikes! How do they justify that price. The guys here tell me that jiffy lube left the cap off of my oil tank and oil has splashed all over my engine. Nothing is damaged except my trust in the guys working here. What petty small minded employees. I will never go back to a jiffy lube again and the owner needs better oversight of the employees here. read more
