Whenever I go to any Jiffy Lube, I always anticipate the onslaught of services and products they try to sell me when all I want is an oil change. I prepare to be firm and just say no. I often go with my husband because I feel they are more likely to swindle women. Well, today, they had me in and out in about 20 minutes, didn't try to sell me anything whatsoever, helped me find the best coupon to use, and were really friendly. These guys quoted me $378 to replace a thermostat!! I watched a utube video and it took me 30min to do it myself. The thermostat cost $22 at parts store and I had to replace about only 1 quart of antifreeze. Then I used a pre paid oil change certificate and they charged me $20 extra for shop fees. CON ARTISTS! I pulled up. The employee told me oil changes start at $45. Seemed a little high (My full service ASE Certified mechanic charges less than this) but I was in a hurry. After they got my car and had me wait in the guest area they brought me to a screen and told me $45 is for standard oil. My van requires a synthetic blend and that would be $69.99. I'm still in a hurry so I said "fine". Then they showed me perfectly clean air filters from the engine and van cabin and tried to convince me to change them. I said "no thanks". When they were done and it was time to pay the bill it was $83.49! Huhh!!!! "Oh, I see the $69.99 was for the oil change but then I need to pay for an oil filter to go with it and some other random line item!" Dishonest, skeezy, pseudo-shop. I will never go back. To sum up: 1) They lied about the price of the oil change 2) They tried to sell me air filters I didn't need 3) They charged me more than double the price of what an actual mechanic charges to do the same thing. With each question I asked they answered as I was stupid and scoffed at with each response back. I went for a simple oil change before hitting the road on a Friday afternoon to travel to southern Oregon. They asked me to get out of the car and wait in the waiting room because they said they were going, "also, (in addition to the oil change) they were going to check my lights." It was a sunny day and the waiting room had both doors perched open, the one that lead outside and the one that lead to the shop area. After about five minutes into my wait one of the techs came and pulled the door shut between the waiting room and the shop. Hmmmmm? By the time when it was all said and done I had dealt with four young men. The first is the one whom I said I wanted the oil change and the tire rotation both for which I had emailed coupons on my phone was the same one who had said they would be inspecting my lights. The next was one who came and got me to give him my contact information to put in his computer, he's also the same one who came to close the door between me and the shop. The third was the general manager who I paid at the end of my visit and had to renegotiate how much I was paying because turns out no one ever did the tire rotation. The fourth was the one who showed me to my car and opened and closed my car door for me. I went from there onto my trip south to Couquille, Oregon. Which was a long drive on the i-5 freeway so I had no use of my bright lights until after I pulled off of i-5 on to the smaller highway that goes west. I'd never been on that road before and it was a dark drive. So i tried to use my brights. They would not engage and stay on. I had to hold the switch arm in position to use them. I didn't have a problem with my lights until I went to Jiffy Lube on Division. And they say they checked my lights but didn't report to me that they were broken so I knew they did it. On Monday I brought a friend as a witness and went back in and asked to speak with the manager. He came out to my car and I had him sit in the drivers seat and asked him to switch the bright lights to the on position. As he went to do it he began to try 'pushing' the switch arm away from him I quickly spoke up and stopped him and told him mine is the type you 'pull' not 'push.' He then confirmed that the switch doesn't engage and stay put. I then told him this happened on Friday when I came in for an oil change. He immediately said, "No, my guys didn't do this." I said, "Well you guys signed off on my receipt that my lights passed your inspection." He replied saying ,"This is all we do to inspect lights" while pulling the arm forward and then letting it go unconcerned with whether or not it engages but just that they came on while holding down in place. I replied with, "Well I'm probably not going to be dealing with you to get this resolved instead I'll go through corporate." To which he said, "There is no corporate. You WILL be dealing with me." I said, "It worked until I came to Jiffy Lube." He said, "These things aren't built to last long anyway. They go out all the time." I said, "In all my years I've owned tens of cars and I've never had one go bad nor have I heard of it happening to anyone else." Then he says, "Look I'll get your phone number and in the next couple of days I'll look at the video and if I see any of my guys in your car like struggling with the switch arm I'll take care of it." So I gave him my number and left. Never heard back. As a result my low beam headlights do not work at all. I've had to purchase the new switch arm and will now need to hire a mechanic to install it. read more

I always hesitate when approaching a Jiffy Lube for my signature service oil change, why? Because the dudes always try to get me to buy more services that I did not budget for by saying, "It's really bad to let this go" "You really need to have your radiator flushed, that fluid is a bad color" I know that I should have had my oil changed sooner, but I work for chrissakes.. and the last thing I want to do post work after dark is get my oil changed on creepy deep SE Division. Alas, it's my car, I need it, it needs me. So I coughed it up. What I never know is how serious they are about the services they are necessitizing; yet I do know that selling those ancillary things is where the money is.. and I'm a sucker. 3 stars cause I got in fast, they knocked $10 off... 3 stars cause "15-20 minutes" turned into 40, and one of the tards tried to flirt. At least now I know that I have good oil (some special blend for 'higher mileage cars'), a flushed radiator, a flushed engine, a new bulb, I've been vacuumed, and my battery needs replacing. read more

They're quick. Im usually in an out within 10-15 minutes. The sign outside always advertises $19.95 for an oil change and its an extra $5 to vaccuum, clean your windshield, check pressures and top off fluids. Sure, you have to endure a few minutes of them trying to upsell you tons of services you may not need, but from my experiences, the employees are never pushy after you decline the extra services. On July 3rd I went to Jiffy Lube I stopped in that night around 6pm for an oil change on my scion tc. I also recieved a coupon for 4th of July which I printed out and used. Thank you for the coupon. However im not reaching out to you in reguards to the amazing service I recieved, the opposite is what i received. As I pulled into the bay I was greeted with smiles and the whole crew willing to help. That quickly changed when I was getting checked in. Jason was checking me in and started talking about how I got the engine flush on April 28th with synthetic oil change. I said I needed to get oil in my car, assuming I was just going to have to pay to get it done (which I did). I told Jason I was in for just conventional oil change and I had a coupon, he proceded to say it's just 3 dollars off the signature price. Then proceeded to talk about getting another engine flush which I did not want to do. Once Jason discovered that I wanted to not spend more money his whole attitude changed. No longer it felt friendly, I feel like it is a commission based sale and once they don't make more money the service quickly dissolves. The part that was most frustrating was Jason stated I was within my 90 days and I paid for synthetic on my last visit in April. They started my oil change with synthetic I asked Jason since im within the 90 days can't you top me off?? Jason said we already started and technically since I was so close to being at my 3000 mile mark no. I stated that I did not have the best interaction at your jiffy lube off 143rd division. Jason said that's unfortunate. Did not top me off and has very possibly lost a customer. I am reaching out to you to inform you of how unfriendly the environment can get real fast. For the attitude to change due to me not purchasing more services is bad. For Jason to say technically topping off was an option but not doing it and then saying after I stated I am having a bad experience then Jason saying thats unfortunate is unacceptable. I will be telling my friends to go somewhere else for their car maintenance, I seriously hope you do something about this. If you care to call feel free. I manage a retail store downtown and understand that sometimes we have rough days but to say could do something but im not going to is appalling. After waiting 3 weeks I doubt that the owner Jamie will be contacting me. It is what it is: an oil change. My 4x4 Tacoma ran me $24 since it requires an extra quart. The service was FAST and very friendly. Came in about 2pm on a Monday, and was able to get right in. The woman in the garage addressed me by name as I stepped out of my vehicle (quick license plate search found me in their system) and they were done with everything in about 15 minutes. Yes, they offer you other services, but when I say no they were in no way pushy. People (complainers): It's their job to sell things like air filters, differential flushes and chip repair - if you don't want those services just say no. It's not a mechanic shop, you're here for an oil change: quick maintenance. They do a great job of that here. Definitely more prompt and friendly than some of the other local locations. read more
