There isn't a whole of nuance to this review. I needed my oil changed and stopped in to this location to do so. I was the first customer of the day, but the young man who met me at the bay was polite and turned the TV and set me up in the waiting room. After that I dealt exclusively with the General Manager Kirk, who was knowledgeable and professional. He laid out my options for potential up-sells but was professional and never pushy. The service took less than a half an hour and was pretty by the numbers Generally I've been able to able to get in and out faster at this location than the Keystone location, but maybe I've just been lucky. Anyway, I'll definitely head back to this location for the next oil change. read more

Great service!. Went in on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation. Wait was a short 10-15 minutes. I needed 6'5 quarts of synthetic oil. Prices were reasonable. Had the oil and filter changed, fluids topped off, windows cleaned and tire pressure checked, all in 15 minutes. read more

BEST JIFFY LUBE AROUND! Of course you get all the little extras with Jiffy Lube, cleaned windows, pumped tires, but at this specific JL the customer service is AMAZING! Jean, the counter woman, is extremely knowledgable, patient, and kind, explains everything and is HONEST. She'll tell you if it is recommended to be replaced or if the extra spending is not needed. I've had my oil changed here four times and every time has been smooth and quick. No longer than a 30 minute wait for my car to be worked on and finished. GREAT JOB JEAN! Pretty quick oil change, Carl was incredibly helpful and even went above and beyond by cleaning dried pine sap off my windshield and sunroof. The Customer Experience representative was cheerful and she made a great effort to keep things quick and translate the service writeup to understandable, important things to note. The Signature oil change includes a vacuum of the inside of your car, so make sure it's cleaned out beforehand if you want that. They also checked all my lights, which is nice because my license plate light and turn indicator were out. With the Groupon I saved $18, which was nice. I'll be back! read more

As I got on the 80 to leave Reno and go back home to Northern California, white smoke began billowing out of the tailpipe of my 95 Toyota Tercel. So, of course I panicked and pulled off the freeway with my hazard lights on. I called my auto insurance company to set up a tow to a service station in Reno (to get all the way home was way further than the $75 that they covered) and resigned myself the idea of my entire day being wasted while waiting for my car to be fixed. I was really sad and stressed out, had decided to pay the tow company $380 to get me home..I was sitting on the curb next to my dead car, trying to figure out which limb I could give up to pay the towing dude, when I looked up and two Jiffy Lube employees were walking towards me. They asked me what was going on and I described what had happened on the freeway (I let them know that I had put 2 quarts of oil in before starting the car because my car leaks oil). They held back from laughing hysterically at me, and diagnosed that I had put a tad too much oil in, which would cause the white smoke and lack of power..they had me drive across the parking lot to their shop, where they proceeded to drain the excess oil, fill up my tires and make my car road ready, and educate me on how to avoid this situation in the future. I know now that i should probably check the dip stick before assuming I need to put any oil in, let alone more than half of the engine's capacity lol..I have always said that I shouldn't be allowed to own a car and this proves it! They got me back on the road and safely home, no tow truck required, and they did it all free of charge!! They didn't have to do any of this, but they did..and they went out of their way to get me home. Amazing, renewed my faith in humanity..guys like these are needed in this world!! I honestly wish I could give this 0 stars. I walked in just asking for records and to start the kid (his name was Tyler) wouldn't even take off his sunglasses indoor to talk to customers. He said he couldn't get on to the computer so I waited over 15 minutes for him to grab a mechanic that could get onto the computer. The mechanic said that they had the records but Tyler would have to go on the back computer to do it. He then leaves and Tyler just keeps looking on the computer saying he can't find them. I asked why he wasn't looking in the back computer since the mechanic said he would need to. I asked for a manager because he didn't seem like he knew what he was doing he responded rudely with "I am a manager." He said the only thing I could do was take a picture saying that they had records. He refused to turn the screen towards me to do so then tried to go for my phone for the picture where I replied that I didn't want him taking it. As I was walking out I hear him (or as his customer service manager said it was another customer) call me a derogatory term. I will never use jiffy lube again considering their managers find it okay to call 20 year old girls inappropriate names. I even got a call from their customer service manager the next morning because the "manager" tried covering for himself by saying it was a customer. Currently talking to their corporate customer service because of this. read more

Never been more disappointed in an oil change in my life. They never even tightened up my oil pan plug and I lost almost an entire quart of oil in 36 hours after the oil change...had to go over to Keystone and find out why on Sunday Oct 2 because mcCarran shop was closed and they showed my husband that the oil plug was finger tight...we had driven my 8 month old car 300 miles round trip and they could have caused my engine to blow up. Thank you Clinton and Anthony @ Keystone for fixing the problem and cleaning up the mess that was created by the other shop! the only reason the get one star is because of the Keystone shop, otherwise it would be a big fat ZERO STARS! read more

Had a Groupon for an oil change that was expiring that day, Dec 7th. Went to Keystone location which was slammed with an hour and a half wait. They suggested I might try this N. McCarran location for a faster service. When I arrived, Kevin greeted me promptly and escorted me into the waiting area. He offered coffee, etc. and turned on a movie if I cared to watch. He explained the service and when it was completed he made a couple of recommendations and listed what had been done; however, I don't think the vacuuming was done. (Doesn't matter that's not the reason I was there.) I was very pleased with the friendliness and efficiency. I was back home 45 minutes before the Keystone location would have even been able to get me in. I would certainly consider this location again even though it is further from my home. read more

Usually have my oil changed at jiffy lube in Chico where they are exceptional. Ended up in Reno over weekend and needed oil changed so I pulled into Jiffy lube at 1230 N Mccarran Blvd. Everything seemed really typical, guys were nice, price was usual, didn't wait long for service to be completed. When I left I started experiencing a stall in my truck when I would accelerate, thought I got some bad fuel as I filled up before leaving town. 6 days later when the fuel stabilizer wasn't helping and my check engine light came on I had to have my truck put on a scanner which pulled numerous mass air flow sensor and fuel too lean codes. Mechanic pulled off my air cleaner (after market K&S), and I watched him pull out my OLD JIFFY LUBE REMINDER STICKER out of my AIR CLEANER that they obviously put inside it. They purposely took off my old sticker from the windshield and put it in my air cleaner. THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINAL!!!! If I were the STUPID GIRL they probably thought I was it would have cost me hundreds of dollars in parts, labor and diagnostics. When I called they sure didn't offer to pay the diagnostic bill, just offered to give me $20 that I had spent on fuel stabilizer. Do not take your car here, they will sabotage you in order to get more business from you. read more
