I've been going to Jiffy Lube for several years now, probably five or six. They do oil changes without an appointment and they do it quickly and then they test it to make sure everything is locked in as far as valves and tops. They top off your other fluids free of charge. They're always super nice and kind regardless of who's working there. You always get a kind face and welcome. The only thing is I no longer can drive it myself over the pit for them to get under it. So I get out and politely ask them to do it cause I know they won't send it down the hole which would probably be my worst judgment lol! But I just want to give these guys credit. is due Long-Street is the place to go they're never crowded. There's only maybe two or three people at a time anytime I've gone. There was also a woman there. She did an amazing oil job she would tighten up everything and she would lube it for free. I forget her name. I don't think she's there anymore though either way all the people you have at the Long Street location or wonderful. Keep up the good work! God bless.. read more

The service was quick, but all I got was an oil change and new filter. They stated they did the rest, but that is kind of difficult to fake with me IN THE CAR. No other fluids were checked, or topped off. No tires were checked, despite my ticket stating this was all done. They also put some kind of red goop on my filter to "lock" it in place. Update 1/20/20 Deon here at Jiffy Lube was the technician who greeted me at the counter this time around. The way in which he presented himself and greeted me, was of the utmost politeness and courtesy. He was very prompt, and even opened the door for me into the lobby. I don't know what it is about this location, but all the staff here at Jiffy Lube in San Marcos have been and still are very professional and courteous! Probably the reason why I continue to go here for 3 years now! My vehicle inspection always goes by so fast and services here are very fast. **UPDATE** CHECK THE REVIEWS- ALL Newer Reviews are BAD. All the good reviews are from 2 years ago. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO JIFFY LUBE SAN MARCOS 9-5-2023- Leaking stopped after replacing oil pan drain plug and replacing Jiffy Lube brand oil filter. Which also meant another oil change. I also had to replace the oil filter access cover that was taken off and not re-installed by Jiffy Lube techs. No reply back from Jiffy Lube manager or District Office. I am now out the cost of oil drain plug, Oil filter, Oil-5qts, Oil filter access cover, & cover hardware. ($120) Lesson learned. **Update**8-21-2023 - Email from guest.relations@jiffyworld.com to call manager Matt. Left VM but no reply. **Update**8-19-2023Oil is still leaking from around oil filter. I will now be taking the car to the Mazda dealership to see what the issue is and to get the oil access panel replaced. Obviously inexperience tech who wrench tightened the oil filter and may have cause damage to oil filter threads. ** Update ** 7-31-2023 Took car into Jiffy Lube - San Marcos and spoke with Manager Ramon. Once he found out about the problem, he immediatley set about correcting the problem by replacing the filter and oil, then pressure testing to verify no leaks. He agreed that the car should not have left the 2nd time with the oil filter in the condition it was. He also refunded the cost of the original oil change. He also said he would speak to his team about this particular issue so it would not happen again. Posted previously- I have used Jiffy Lube nationwide for both my truck and wife's car and have not had any issues. I have used this location regularly in the past. 7-10-2023 Brought in wife's car for oil change. Notice oil leaks/dripping on driveway a few days later. 7-19-2023 took car back into Jiffy Lube - San Marcos and was told by tech and manager that they could not find any leaks and had checked the filter for tightness and let the engine run to check. Checked driveway under car over next few days and still noticed leaks/drips. I inspected under engine and discovered: 1. The oil filter access cover was missing. 2. Oil leak and drip at oil filter. 3. Oil filter has denting/crushing from mechanical/wrench/plier tightening. (see photos) read more

One Jiffy Lube is just like all the rest? Not so much on todays visit. For the record I did not have any services performed by this location. For that reason you can be critical if you must; but the reason will leave you with the understanding that in JL's eyes all San Martians are billionaires. I did the Ardie commute, San Marcos and back via IH-35 to Austin with a stop in Kyle. The boy and I picked up some important legal documents from my moms office and headed south. Noticing while making the turn around at Oltorf JL that a sign said $25 oil changes. Thats a great price! Did my business in Kyle and headed for that oil change. I arrive at the San Marcos Iffy Lube only to be told that their oil changes started at $42. The staffer was unapologetic about their price, offering me no discount when I told him about the South Austin sale. I left stunned. On a bad day the maximum I would pay in Austin would be $32 with shop/disposal fees. I completed my business and hauled ass back to Austin for a better deal. I'm sure each JL is a franchise and some lucky guy could own 1 or 15; with that said from a customer service angle they lost my business because they didn't offer me anything close to what was offered 20 minutes northbound. read more

Overdue on oil change before Thanksgiving. Unusual number of cars parked on side lot and feared I'd be waiting hours. Nope! When I pulled around I was immediately directed to an empty bay. My tech offered a radiator flush (about due) with twenty-five bucks off, and surprised the pants off me by saying they could replace the driver's side headlight which recently went out. Made me so happy I even got an air filter too. Nicked thirty bucks off other things as I kept adding. Continued with second-best oil as usual for this car. With the radiator flush, the discounts basically meant I got the light replaced for free. After changing out the headlight they pointed out some old parts that will need replacing with my regular mechanic. Yes, cheaper if I did it myself but I would have taken longer than thirty minutes. Plus it was Thanksgiving eve, I was on the road in the morning, and if I were organized I'd obviously have had that done already. I understand convenience pricing, they've done good work on my other visits, and peace of mind on a holiday drive was worth the price. read more

I went to have a oil change and an inspection done. At 2pm Monday October 2nd there wasn't anyone there that could do an inspection they were at lunch. Then again today Monday October 9th and they had 4 in front of me. Terrible customer service and all new people. This is the LAST time they get ANY of my business!!!! Went to get the oil changed. They made it a point to tell me all the "extra" they did. Like filling the windshield washer fluid, ironic since a week later my wash fluid is empty. Hmmmm. Makes you wonder what else they lie about. Update 2019: got my piles changed here and my engine blew up with 2000 miles until the next change should have happen. I don't usually do reviews that but I love this Jiffy Lube location. Shoutout to Richard for being so nice and helpful during my last visit. I got my oil changed here before, and then made the mistake of going across the street to Brake Check (worst decision ever, but that's another story) the time after that. So I've decided to just stick with this Jiffy Lube location because every time I come here it's GREAT service. The people are HONEST, they don't overcharge for unnecessary stuff, they don't try to scam you and tell you to your car needs 1000$ worth of repairs (like Brake Check did). They also have online coupons that makes the prices GREAT. read more

I took my Audi A6 here about a week or so to just get an oil change and I was told I had "a leak". A leak that was nonexistent until I left there. When I took my car to my mechanic I found out the wrong washer was used, one that was TOO SMALL. And a couple hoses near the oil pan were lose. Thus, the leaking began. I would not take any of my cars here nor would I recommend anyone else doing so. People are right when they say to stay away from Jiffy Lube in general. These "technicians" are entry-level that obviously don't know how to do their job. That's also coming from other mechanics. read more

Dropped off my car at around 9:30 to get a simple state inspection and was briefly told by the already stressed out employee that I needed to present my insurance and leave the key in the car. After a good min of not getting back to me I went inside to speak to a very helpful employee and made sure all my steps were covered to get this easily accessible state inspection to continue on my busy day. Got picked up by a friend and came back at 12 to check the car and was told by another useless employee that the inspector was at lunch and hasn't got to my car. Annoyed but left again to get lunch myself and came back at 2 for them to tell me that the insurance I had didn't verify the vin and they needed it which is fine I get it but then the same employee at 12 asked me if I have been contacted about it and when I replied with no, he didn't try to figure out why or even apologized for the lack of communication so being that my car has been there for 5 hours and they are just telling me this was bullshit lol. I even had an account with my full name and number in their system so any excuse would of been ill-fully unjustified. I took my keys back and got into my car and now I'll have to look for another place with my day wasted. Never returning to this jiffy lube again and don't contact me to try to fix it. Story: my friend and I are visiting her home of San Marcos, TX, and she needed a routine inspection. We decide to go to jiffy lube. Just a bit of background, my friend has all these military patches and a rainbow sticker (like a gay rainbow). So we go there with her girlfriend and her son, and they at first seem nice, and then they see the sticker and start looking at us funny. We didn't really care. However, the older man who seems to be the boss sent his employee to the waiting room to tell us they could not inspect our car. When my friend went to clarify what was preventing the inspection, he replied that the address on the insurance was from New Mexico, where we are stationed, and that he couldn't do the inspection. However, the TX DMV outlines that ANY state's liability insurance is ok. We clarified that directive to him and he claimed we didn't meet the minimum requirements, which we did. He started out his dialogue in a slightly rude manner to begin with, got increasingly disrespectful during the conversation, and when we tried to persuade him to do his job, he couldn't cite any actual reason as to why he couldn't do his job after that. He also used unprofessional language and a rude tone to speak with us, and rude gestures, all in front of a 3 year old I might add. When my friend asked if she could just one of her military benefits, he stated he didn't give a damn about the military and wouldn't help us. The LGBT discrimination. I'm pretty sure he was homophobic, because why else would he refuse to provide service when we looked up the DMV laws and clearly were eligible? My friend is very obviously a lesbian, and has an obvious gay pride sticker, and this yahoo seems like one of those older rubes who still live in the stone age and have outdated discriminatory views. I'm a good judge of character, and I can put two and two together. We went back and showed him the current DMV directive, which was very simple and easy to comprehend. Like crayons for children. The only thing he said was that he couldn't inspect us. Additionally, the workers were blatantly having these riveting conversations while leaving back against the cars and figuring out what their tools could possibly be. There were absolutely no dress and appearance standards. And they had more than enough people to change the oil for the two cars they had. But they all wanted to sit around, giggle, and play grabass. They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel here, which is funny because they have a reputation around here for being exactly that. Such a shame, where I come from in New York jiffy lube is the place to go. Definitely will no longer use any jiffy lube until they stop employing unmotivated kindergarten level employees. read more

This place damaged my car and charged me for the privilege with absolutely no attempt made to make it right. They flushed my radiator and did not replace the fluid, causing the car to become un-drivable almost immediately. The person "in charge" then gave me a fake number for the corporate office, told me that the car wasn't "completely" out of fluid when I left (though being low enough on coolant to halt the engine seems like being close enough to "completely out" to me), and wouldn't so much as give me a refund, let alone pay for the work that I had to have done elsewhere to fix the damage they caused. Bottom line: they broke my car by bungling very routine maintenance and absolutely did not care about that fact. Go elsewhere if you value your vehicle, your money, or your time. Update: also, observe the corporate culture manifested in the replies on this thread. The responses to negative reviews invariably come from "Guest Services Manager", never from anyone with a name. This is part and parcel of a strategy designed to exhaust complainants with red tape. Nobody is going to fight through weeks of correspondence in order to obtain a $150 refund (not because they stop caring, but because we all have better things to do.). Jiffy Lube counts on this. A legitimate business is run in such a way as to grant local employees the discretion to resolve customer complaints on site rather than endlessly referring them to some faceless corporate bureaucracy. If I could give no stars, I would. I stopped going to the San Marcos location after they dented my car door which also left a black mark on my white vehicle the summer of 2016. Recently I had to go there because I was driving by and noticed my headlight was out. The worker told me I needed both bulbs replaced. I found that odd because I drove there while it was dark and could see with one light. So, I knew a mechanic buddy could check this after if I was being ripped off. I paid for both and noticed on the drive home that the actual bulb that needed to be replaced was shining much brighter than the other one that I felt didn't need to be replaced. Later in the day I went to my mechanic friend. He checked it and the bulb that I suspected was fine was not replaced. He even showed me that it was dirty compared to the new one. Do not go to the San Marcos Jiffy Lube. They will rip you off. read more
