The Jiffy Lube at 130th and Lake City is AWESOME. I had an issue with my window washing arm and purchased the parts to fix it. After 20 minutes of fiddling with the new parts I was unable to master the problem. I took myself, the car, and the parts to Jiffy Lube expecting to pay $10-20.00 for the repair. They were very nice and snapped it together for me in less than 3 minutes! They charged nothing and I am appreciative. On top of everything else, they were polite and friendly. I was visiting Seattle from Spokane for the first time. I had my oil changed the day before my trip over. I started hearing a strange noise when I got to my hotel whenever I backed up. I was nervous and worried about all the possibilities and how I wouldn't be able to enjoy the city until I knew what was wrong. We looked up where we could go and found this spot. The staff were friendly and recognized the problem right away as the last place that had done the oil hadn't sealed it back up. They fixed it and sent us on our way. The staff is knowledgable and personable and I never feel like they are trying to nickel and dime me. Greg was and is an absolute gentleman and I had a great conversation with me. He took care of me and made sure I had a great deal and that I was out quickly. I even got my car back vacuumed and all I went to do was get an oil change. I've been a very long customer of this location over the past 15 years. Have taken half a dozen cars here multiple times, but the last time I sent my daughter will be my last. Long story short, we took our 15 year old very high mileage SUV. Normally the process is they will show you a few options, you pick the one you want (conventional, high mileage, etc.). This time when they checked her in (car had been there before we believe) they just said "what brings you in?"'; she responded "oil change" and that was the end of the conversation. Which would have been fine if they had done the type of oil changes they had previously done on the SUV, but they did not. Instead they did a synthetic oil change and charged us over $100 (about $40 more than we had ever paid for a conventional oil change at this locations). I believe in giving business a chance to fix any issues and provide them feedback via their website (and Jiffy Lube corporate asked for specific information about receipts/dates/invoice numbers/phone numbers/etc.). Corporate Jiffy Lube said they will pass on m concerns to the local franchisee and the franchisee should reach out with 3 to 4 days. It's been at least 10 days with no response. read more

Some of the cheaper oil change prices in the city. Quick too! This is the second time I've been here and they do up-sell you and convince you to buy better quality oil, better windshield wipers, etc. But hey... they vacuum the car and it's totally done in 20 mins. You can't really beat the convenience factor. The man who rang me up was extremely friendly and even handed me a $20 off coupon (for my next visit.) Getting an oil change is the worst chore and somehow here it was pretty painless. Love that they're downtown and located right near my house, too. read more

Goodness gracious! This is a case for negatives stars! I'm getting my car out of another shop after three days of service because of what Jiffy Lube did to my car at this particular location downtown. I went in with my vehicle and gave them the keys and they locked the keys inside the car! Instead of calling a locksmith I watched while the GM took two flat head screwdrivers and tried to pry open my door from the top. This was after the tried and true metal hanger attempt which didn't work... which it shouldn't work on any car outside of the 80s and greater. I kept my eyes on the mechanics as my lunch hour started to click down and the door was still not opened. Eventually they were able to handle the vehicle and open the door. When they drove the car out of the garage I looked up to find a series of deep scratches on the top of the door... which the GM replied, "Oh it looks like I did leave a scratch?" As if I wasn't going to see it. He told me to go to a repair shop and they'd reimburse me. I told him that I wanted something in writing to ensure this. While I was in his office he noticed that I had paid for the wrong car on top of it all. After this I called my insurance company because I didn't have the money to pay for the damages and then I wasn't sure if they'd reimburse me if I did. My insurance company found me a repair shop and is currently fixing the damages which came out to about $1,000 + dollars and 3 days without my car. I go on a lot of meetings throughout the week and I haven't been able to go on any appointments for half a week! On top of all this the adjuster found that the weather strip inside was torn up from the hanger and the interior was scratched. The car is only 2 years old. I look forward to picking my car up from the repair shop today, but I will never be going back to any Jiffy Lube which is a shame because I'm in my 20s and I would have been a long time customer. I will take my car to the dealership for its oil changes for now on and spare myself the three days of riding the bus to work! read more

This place is tucked away downtown, which is nice. It's basically catty-corner from Cinerama, behind Ralph's grocery. Features: - Reasonably fast lubing - Bogartable Wi-fi (thanks, Ralph's) and theoretically drinkable coffee - They vacuum out your car (and sometimes your change holder!) Drawbacks: - The inevitable upsell for fancy oil and little plastic doohickeys - Usually understaffed, perhaps because it is a... - "Drug Free Business" -- back in Texas, a band of speed freaks descends on your car and gets the oil change done in 5 minutes. Only a 1 star because I can't give 0 Got an oil change and they ask if I also want my transmission fluid changed so I say yes... Worst mistake I have made with my car ever. They took almost 2 hours to do these simple things and my car starts making crazy sounds that it has never made before. I bring my car to my mechanic that I have known my whole life, he tells me they must have put in the wrong type of fluid and he changed it out 3 times to flush the system jiffy lube charged me 130 for the transmission fluid service which I then had to bring to my REAL mechanic to fix their mistake. The regional manager is not reachable and will not return voice messages. My mechanic charged me half of what they charged and did it right. Jiffy lube has not made this right and I have not heard from the manager of the branch in weeks. Will not return, do not come here if you care about your car. read more

First Time at Jiffy Lube and probably my LAST So, I normally do the oil change at the dealership but had a coupon so I decided to give J.L. a try. Maybe my bad luck but it sucked!! First the tech almost ran me over. He started a car as I was crossing over to the customer area and hit my leg :( Luckily, he stopped in time so I got away with a light bump! Then they tried the normal up-sell drill - which I avoided, for the most part. They didn't honor the base price on the coupon. Charged me more saying the prices had gone up. So much for the coupon. The car wasn't vacuumed as promised (signature oil change) The maintenance indicator wasn't reset - I had to go back in and ask for it. But the cherry on the pie (yuk) was the SMELL. The tech either had awful B.O. or farted in my car - it smelled AWFUL! The only pros - they were quick and close. All-in-all a sub-standard experience and I'm going back to the dealership. read more

It was about 6pm on a Wednesday, and I was still ripping CDs to load on my mp3 player for my road trip. I was planning on leaving at some point in the middle of the night to avoid traffic out of Seattle and through Portland, and was stocking up my music collection in preparation for a 15-17 hour drive down to central California. I was packed. My camping gear was stacked by the door. My dog's bed, food, and toys in a bag ready to go. My cooler full of Red Bull, water, and apples, and waiting for a load of ice from my freezer. I thought I was ready to go when it hit me... When was the last time I got my oil changed?!? I'm about to drive 2100 miles, over mountains and through hot California plains, and I'm worrying about what music I'm going to listen to? Cripes, I am sharp as a ball sometimes! I Yelped my regular oil change station, but they were closing at 6pm. No way I could make that. I Yelped Jiffy Lube and found this location. I was heading down to an Elite Event that night (before I left. Yep. I'm a dedicated Yelper! :P), which was nearby, so I gave them a call. The gal who answered sounded nice, I asked her their hours. "We close at seven." "I better get my ass down there, then, huh?" *giggles* "Yep!" So I did. I pulled in behind two other cars at about 6:40 or so. The tech came out, ran me through the questions of what I needed, etc., then let me know that he probably wouldn't be able to get to me until 7pm on the dot. "Seven? That's when you close. Am I hosed?" "Nope, man, you're here by 6:30! No worries!" Sweet. I hung out for a bit inside, then headed over to Top Pot to grab a donut and some coffee. Headed back and read a magazine. They had a coffee maker, a bathroom and a soda machine inside. No TV, though, which is fine, I'd rather read. The tech finished up. We started talking while he rang me up, turns out he and his female counterpart had just adopted a little pit bull/brindle boxer puppy. Even though it was way past closing, he took some time and we gabbed about obedience training and the idiotic pit bull breed ban legislature some nut job is trying to pass in Seattle. "It's all about the dog owner, homes," the tech told me. "If you're a responsible owner, and you raise your dog right, he ain't gonna bite nobody." I agree, my friend, I agree. An oil change that kept you there after hours and some doggy wisdom to boot. Me and Carson got on the road later that night, feeling that much more confident in my car making the trip and the future of pit bull owners in Seattle. read more

Just went in yesterday. Drove up, the tech came out to greet me and explain the options. They changed my oil, did a safety inspection, vacuumed my carpets and washed my windows in less than 15 minutes as I read sports illustrated and drank free coffee in a clean waiting room. As I drove away, about 5 minutes after I left, I realized I left my (rather expensive) sunglasses there in the waiting room. Panicked, I called the place, the girl tech that answered stopped what she was doing and found the glasses. I circled back and she walked them out to me. She's awesome. She could have easily said, "nope, don't see 'em" and pocketed $100, but she was honest, and I appreciate that. Also, don't forget to tip these guys. This is one of those services that people just don't think about tipping. As someone who lives on tips, I can't emphasize enough how much of a difference it makes when everyone throws in a few bucks. These guys aren't making a lot on salary. read more

I went here many times, for the majority of my scheduled oil changes over the past 5 years. But I will not return after my last visit. Starting with the condescending attitude from the main guy who was working there, and it got worse. I had been having problems with my car burning off oil, so I've been frequently checking the levels (ie, weekly). I know how quickly the level was slipping down in my car (about a quarter of a quart per week) -- I had last checked the oil level about a day prior to getting the oil change. Why is this detail important? When I went in to Jiffy Lube this time they stated my car's oil was "off stick" (ie - unmeasurable with the dipstick) and I should get a flush, etc etc. Sorry, I know for a fact that's complete B.S. -- they decided to lie to the wrong customer. In hindsight I have other suspicions as well -- I thought my dealer was scamming me when they said someone forgot to replace the skid plate on my car after my last oil change... However now that I'm aware of this store's incompetence versus shady business practices, I'm suspicious they might be responsible for that, too. Of course I can't prove anything but it's a helluva coincidence.... Congrats, you permanently lost a customer. I would recommend staying away from this specific JL store. read more

I have never had a less-than-5-star experience here. The customer service is outstanding (regardless of your gender), the entire place is spotless, they're incredibly friendly, and they are FAST. Just had a synthetic oil change, air filter replacement, coolant top-off, windows washed, tires aired up and vacuumed out car in 12 minutes flat. I didn't even have time to eat the apple I brought in with me. And finally, one of the employees who was working on my car found a ten-dollar bill while she was vacuuming, came inside and gave it to me. Forreal, you guys- they're awesome here. read more

Jiffy Lube did a good job! I am HORRIBLE with car upkeep. So after many months of trying to get my tired used Prius into other places that require an appointment I ended up coming here. No appointment needed! The location is a bit hard to find at first. I think technically its in Belltown but there isn't a huge sign and I missed it the first time I passed by on 4th. The manager I think had a friendly greeting for me and offered me a cup of coffee. The waiting area is small but well kept. I had nice comfy chairs, numerous magazines and a clean bathroom! Suffice to say the obligatory upsell is present here but they weren't too pushy about things. Unless its your dear relative doing your oil change or auto repair this is a reality wherever you go to some degree so be educated in what exactly you want and stick to it. I on the other hand was having so much guilt for being a bad car owner that I said 'yes' to most things. New air filter check, new uber-expensive 'hybrid-friendly' motor oil, check. I did decline the wiper replacement. They did a good job. Did some vacuum sweeping of my floors which was sorely needed, topped off my fliuds, wiped down my windsheild and sent me on my way. Bottom line: probably more expensive here than say a dealership but its quick and no appointment needed! read more

Service was prompt, friendly, and fast. It didn't seem like the shady "get em in an' turn em over" type of place that it was in my head. On several occasions they were able to open early and help to get me on my way. The staff here is always professional and friendly. They offer additional services when you need them. All told I was there for almost 2 hours for an alleged 15 minute oil change. Never got an apology or explanation as to why they opened late. Here's the real problem; no upfront pricing. I asked for their oil change prices while they take your car and pull your filters. They try to upsell you filters while they've already drained your oil. Then I finally get to pricing after all the info and they want a 100 dollar oil change? Please. Not one place in the shop has a price. If you're not shady then don't be shady. On a bright note they were friendly. These are the types of places that scare none car friendly people away. They go in for an oil change and they get told to do transmission flushes. Edit: Greg made this all better. He could see I was unhappy with the issue. We ended up getting out the door for a more respectable price. I've changed my review to 4.
