And my complaint is just as much about Rob, the Market Manager, as it is about the store itself. I came in for a simple service, something I've done many times without any issues. Instead, I ended up dealing with a situation that was caused entirely by their mistake, and rather than owning it, they gave me the runaround. Not only did the staff fail to take responsibility, but when I tried to escalate it, Rob--the market manager--was unprofessional, dismissive, and completely uninterested in fixing the problem. His attitude was basically "not my problem," which is unacceptable for someone in his position. When a customer is legitimately wronged, you expect at least a baseline level of professionalism. I got none. I'm all for giving people grace, but this was mishandled from start to finish. If this is the standard of leadership for this location, I'd strongly recommend going anywhere else for service. Poor work, poor communication, and even worse management. I recently went to the Jiffy Lube in Surfside Beach, SC, for a simple oil change, and what I experienced was nothing short of a scam. After the oil change, they told me my brakes were in such bad shape that I shouldn't even think about driving back to Pennsylvania without replacing them. They claimed the brakes were so worn out that my car wouldn't pass inspection in Pennsylvania. Of course, they offered to replace them for an astronomical price. Sensing something was off, I declined and later had a professional check my brakes. Unsurprisingly, they found that my brakes had more than 50% life left and were in no need of replacement. My car passed the inspection without any issues. This Jiffy Lube location tried to scare me into spending a fortune on unnecessary repairs. Once a business lies to customers, they lose all credibility. There are far more honest and trustworthy businesses in the area where you can get your car serviced. Don't let them make you feel unsafe just to rip you off. I will never return to this location and recommend others avoid it as well. read more

I cannot say enough good things about my experience at the Jiffy Lube in Surfside Beach, SC today. I originally started up the street at another car place and they were unable to fix the problem my car was having. I think it's noteworthy to say that this car place encouraged us to go to this Jiffy Lube as they knew that they were problem solvers for issues they couldn't solve themselves. I thought that Jiffy Lubes were only good for oil changes, but I was wrong! The men at Jiffy Lube took my car and problem solved until the problem WAS solved. Antoine (sp?) and the men working alongside of him went beyond my expectations and I will forever be grateful for them. Also, there was a woman in the waiting room who I overheard thanking them for "working her in" as they were a blessing to her as well. We need more places of business with men who are practicing integrity as these men are. I HIGHLY recommend you go and find out for yourself. read more

I purchased a synthetic blend oil change on Groupon for $54 based on the model and make of my vehicle. After getting in to do the oil change they stated I needed an extra quart of oil due to my engine, and charged me an extra $26. So I ended up paying $78 for a $55 oil change seems kind of like a bait & switch to me. I will probably not use these guys again. If I didn't have the coupon it would have cost me $113. I went in there because it was convenient for me. They tried to upsell me almost $300 worth of services. They said they check the lights that they worked fine and when I drove that night I noticed two of the lightbulbs were out. Ever since I brought my car there for the oil change that was almost $82 my gas mileage went from 45 miles a gallon to 18 miles a gallon. So now I got to figure out what they didn't do to put it back together. They seemed professional.But I'm really not that impressed. After I replied yes he mumbles something and walks away while I'm still talking. I noticed he's holding the door open for me, so I walk up to him and attempted to hand him my vehicle information and all he does is point and says one word "inside". Fast and friendly service. Have heard not great things about Jiffy Lube in general (including from past employees) but I will give anything a try once and I'm glad I did. They did not try to con me into anything, told me I needed a new air filter which in fact I knew I did, informed me my right turn signal was out (had just bought the replacement bulb that morning as it had gone out over the weekend :) ). They did a good job on the windows and car runs much better. Only thing, I don't believe they vacuumed which was supposed to be included bc there was still a lot of dirt on my back carpets (I had done the front myself a few days before). I was in a rush to get to work so I didn't say anything. This is the only reason I moved them down from a 5 star review to a 4 star. read more

They were very professional, offered the suggested oil (even tho I stayed with what I came for), and even rolled out a tiny red carpet when we were leaving. Staff was very nice. They cleaned my windshield, filled my fluids and the air in my tires. Also, jiffy lube will check your fluids and oil on the go! Every 1,000 miles for free! read more

This was my first visit to the Surfside Beach location. I thought that there prices were a little high, but I did have a $20 off online coupon. My complete oil change and fluid top offs was under $30. The lady that checked me in and explained what extras that they offered, was extremely nice and friendly. She wasn't at all pushy and a very pleasant person to talk too. I watched the mechanic do the job, and he seemed to be very good at what he was doing. Taking his time and doing things right. He was also very careful not to damage my car! These guys know what they're doing, and Jiffy lube was well worth the choice! Thy hooked up their probe and told me I needed a new mass air flow sensor. I was a woman, traveling alone on vacation in Surfside Beach. I noticed the oil was late getting changed and went into Jiffy Lube to get it done. They told me I needed several hundred dollars worth of replacement parts and repairs and...by the way, my windshield wipers were shot. I told them the car didn't need repairs and...by the way, I'd replaced the wipers last week. It has been 18 months and the car has run fine without those expensive repairs. These guys are rip off artists with ATTITUDE. While I was waiting for the guy in front of me's car to be finished so they could pull mine up I noticed a guy working on putting a cabin filter back INTO the car. I asked the owner, young kid 20s, what was up and he said he just couldn't afford the extras today. As I continued to observe the operation it was for one "brutal" and the guy had knocked some leaves off it was that dirty. The mechanic "Mike" then PICKED THEM BACK UP and placed them back onto the filter and stuffed it in. I asked the manager about this and he said that policy prohibits them from being able to tap the debris off the filter because they may damage it. I said that's understandable to a point but why did he put extra debris back on it before putting it back. The manager gave me a very angry look and stormed off with some under the breath comment. I kindly requested that my vehicle be backed out and my keys returned. Apparently they don't like me there anymore but that's okay I will NEVER GO BACK. read more

I have read some negative reviews about these guys and I can tell you I have been working with these guys for TWO YEARS! The reason I keep going back is because they give excellent service, they know that I drive for a living (meaning my car is my office) so since day one of working with them they've kept my car up to date and in pristine condition. They go over IN DETAIL of updates I may need and are EXTREMELY courteous to me. One thing in particular, again I drive a lot, so the time came for me to get all four new tires, the manager Joe set me up with the Conway location as they can't do tire service at his. They got me an EXCELLENT deal a deal I would not find ANYWHERE else! These guys work hard and I can tell you I just had my car serviced there this past Saturday, I had a busy day as that's usually my day off and I was running late, knowing my needs and my situation they stayed AFTER closing at 6pm to make sure I was taken care of, I don't know what the rest of these people are talking about, maybe a bad day or miscommunication. But again I've worked with them for TWO YEARS and I have NEVER had a bad or even minutely poor experience. They're great guys, great human beings and they do fantastic work! You want a good team to service your car ESPECIALLY if you're like me and depend on it for your job, go to these guys! 110%! I give them 5 stars, I'd give them 10 if I could! read more
