I went to Firestone to replace all four tires on my vehicle. I made an appointment for the following day and the service itself was prompt. They gave me a good price on the tires and the installation went smoothly. However, after the tires were installed, the technician took my car for a test drive of about 3 miles, and when I got my vehicle back, rare tokens that I kept in my ashtray were missing. That was disappointing and concerning. While the tire service and pricing were good, this experience left me uneasy, and I hope management looks into this to prevent it from happening to other customers. read more

My wife and I decided to come here after we were approved for a credit app to receive brand new tires and an alignment We made a 11am appt. and came in 30 minutes early. I asked "how long" it would be for the wait, the guy behind desk told me he could "get me in before 11am. ...2 1/2 hours pass and My wife, children and I were still waiting for 1 tire. Do not go to this establishment!! Went to this establishment and had two pulleys replaced that cost over $1400. 24 hours later, the noise started all over again....... brought the car back. Now the other two pulleys are bad and the belt!!!!! This is rather odd considering they looked at the car and said the first two pulleys needed to be replaced. Spoke with the supervisor, not only did he put me down stating that I didn't know what I was talking about but stated the mechanic had been there for over eight years. Didn't offer any type of discount or anything! Demanded more money. How do you demand more money when you received over $1400 and The problem still exists!! Poor Customer Service and poor attitude. Took my car there last week for oil change with a 9am appointment. Took 1.5 hours. Also, they told me I needed new spark plugs, transmission flush, and rear brakes. Since car has only 60k miles I questioned their findings. They backed up all their "findings" and then I told them plugs and trans flush were recommended at 100k miles. They denied that. Later I checked manufacturer and I was right plus car was driving perfect with no motor issues. I took it to a large auto shop and asked them to inspect brakes and replace if necessary. They called me back within 1 hour and said that brakes were fine. Firestone is just a con game to take money and, of course, I resent this being a senior citizen. read more

Dropped my jeep off at scheduled time for tire rotation and balance as well as front end inspection, 2.5 hrs later they call to say looked like I need tires but couldn't inspect or rotate because a small wasp nest , charged 23.00 dollars to start my jeep and turn it around. Horrible experience because they are working on my car and it's been one week when I get a call From the store to tell me that I should bring my car back in the spring after they done over $2000.00 worth of work and they did not have the time to fix want I requested full diagnostic of the vehicle to get fix the AC witch seems to be to much for them to do. I Went in today to discuss issues.everyone in there was very nice but said I had to wait for the manager that was two feet away and did not talk to me. So The regional manager contacted me after three weeks their policy is 72 hours after making a complaint and this is what he had to tell me I will have to sign over a waiver stating they don't know how long it's going to take to get the car fix ( I guess a way of making me go away) so I told him sure send over the whatever they wanted me to sign it's been another two weeks nothing. As with any chain, they have high turnover, but for the last couple years it's been the same manager, Trey, and mechanic, Anthony. No complaints with these two. Anthony's been a mechanic for over 20 yrs. He can do advanced repairs and I'm pleased with the work he's done. read more

Let's talk about the manipulation that's used to get you to spend money. I have taken my car here for years and for years it's been pretty decent until about a year or so ago when it quickly declined. I'm not sure what happened (change of ownership, corporate stress onthe stores, etc) but this place is probably the most crooked on the grand strand. I have a couple stories but I'm just going to focus on the most recent and the straw that finally broke the camels back. Long story as short as I can make it, I have a 2014 HHR and I had a leak in my gas line. A guy I work with use to be a mechanic and offered to take a look. I crawled under the car and we both physically saw where the leak was. Driver side by rear tire the line had a hole where the retaining piece was that hold the line up. It looked like it had gradually wore a hole in the line. I took it to firestone, told literally them where the leak was. The next day they call saying "it is leaking all the way from the engine block back to the gas tank. We will need to completely replace 6' of line and clean out the tank and engine. The cost to fix it will be $611." I told them I'd call them back, spoke to my coworker then called another mechanic who was at a loss for words when I told him the situation and price I was quoted. I called back and said I'd take it elsewhere. When I arrived to get my keys I was charged $25 for "looking at it". When I confronted the man who called me he admitted the entire line did not have to be replaced, they did not need to clean the gas tank but that he was told he had to tell me the entire line had to be replaced. This is the type of business you can expect from going here. I only wish I would have recorded me going in to get my keys. UPDATE: mechanic I took it to has already fixed it. $125 for the repair which included the labor. read more

It was amazing me and my dad thought are rim was bent and our tire was going flat every 15 minutes and they asked us to bring it in even though they do not fix bent rims. we brought it in and we found out we only had a small slit in the tire. Got my oil changed and returned to my car with it disgusting! Could see where the mechanic was careless with my car and had black marks everywhere. Just had my car detailed and the floors shampooed and my beige mats were black from shoe prints, oil, and grease. Very disappointed! Mechanics should put down paper, plastic, wear things over shoes, something to protect the cars they work in!! read more

Waste of money buying your tires here. Tires have ZERO 0% manufacturer warranty for defect unless you pay the extra. Even though tires do have a manufacturer warranty. These guys just won't honor it. Had a bubble on the inside wall of the tire, tire blew and almost killed us on the highway. They argued I must have hit a screw, but screws don't cause 100% blowouts, they cause slow leaks and and it's been that way since the 80s. They didn't have to be so rude about it either. So I just cut up my Firestone credit card. Don't use these creeps. read more

My wife noticed that the steel cords were showing on the "sidewall" of the front drivers side Firestone tire. She then went to our regular location Firestone on 6th ave. Myrtle Beach. She was told that they did not have that specific tire in stock and that they had called the Surfside Beach location and they had three in stock down there. My wife then drove to Surfside and was told by "Andy" that the problem was not a manufacturers defect but, was instead a "knifing".. That Bozo told my Wife that her tires had been SLASHED. He even wrote that on the Bill because, at this point, my wife was texting me about all this... freaking out that someone had slashed her tires...I told her to get as much info as she could, and to keep the tire as evidence because we were going to file a police report. He (Andy) then informed her that they did NOT have the exact tire in stock , (even though the computer said they had three) and proceeded to sell her a "primewell tire" (whatever the hell that is) for $167.00. she was not about to go driving around on a Donut. When I got home from work, she showed me the tire, which she kept in the trunk (evidence) (got that, Andy?)... and I swore that a blind man could tell that it was NOT a knifing... knives don't leave jagged cracked edges. I wish that this let me upload a picture... We then took the tire to our regular ASE certified mechanic... just to be sure... and sure enough.. He laughed... this was tire failure period. Off we went to our regular Firestone dealer on 6th ave. in Myrtle, where we spoke with a very nice, attentive employee named Andre... he was nice as can be. And.. he agreed, ..not a knifing.... their tire expert came out to look also... yup... not a knifing... (got that Andy?) All of this was passed on to the store manager.. a young Lady named Kelly, who was as professional as can be, and sorted it out for us. This company, as a whole, is completely untrustworthy. ( I will update/remove if this is resolved.) Even their tag line is a lie: "Fixed Right or it's Free". I took a car to Firestone and I wanted to know what was wrong with the car. I was told that I had to pay $100 for a full diagnostic but it was worth it because other companies might fix something and as soon as you leave the car could brake down for something unrelated to the repairs. This made a lot of sense to me so I was excited to use a company with a reputation to protect. I felt a connection to the sales person and I felt amazing that I was being taken care of, I truly trusted the staff. I was informed that I would know about everything wrong with the car and if I came back in a few days, I would have the diagnostic to continue all necessary repairs. I came back shortly afterwards because I wanted to finish the repairs on my car. I was informed that based on the diagnostic I had multiple issues to pay for. It's a pandemic so money is tight, but I was told that if I paid approximately 3 grand every thing would be fixed except a leak in the stearing pump. It was a lot of money so I had the sales person repeatedly confirm that everything would be great, except for the stearing pump. Later, I paid for the repairs and drove away. As soon as I hit the highway, I heard a terrible screeching sound. I had paid for two new brakes and I was forced to keep driving on the highway until I could turn around. I went back and was lucky enough to get help from someone who was great and fixed the issue. I told him I was so grateful and mentioned that I paid too much for my budget but it was worth it to have a car that is completely fixed (except needing to put steering fluid in it). He said offhandedly, there are a few small leaks remaining. I was devastated but he was very kind and said I should come back when I can to get the repairs. I started crying and told him I can't afford more. I literally couldn't pay my doctor that month to afford the repairs. He was very kind and obviously proficient but I could tell his hands were tied. I came back a few days later and told Firestone I needed the leaks fixed because that is what I was promised, repeatedly. At first, they refused to look at my car at all. Then I got a phone call. An incredibly rude employee asked how I even knew about the leaks. He acted like he wanted to punish whoever told me about the leaks in my own car! He also told me that no one would say the things that had been said to me and kept pushing to figure out how I could possibly know about the leaks. I was extremely angry, I didn't have the money to spare. Ultimately, Firestone refused to even look at the car. I got in touch with a supervisor and he asked for proof of the mistakes. I took my car to Honda and paid for another inspection. That inspection showed that the new gaskets I had paid for were "seeping" oil. There were leaks throughout the engine. The new brakes had wear on them from that metal scratching across them. The worst part, my transmission was leaking and there was no fluid in it, seriously. I was about to travel into the mountains in a car that was supposed to be safe. They charged a diagnostic fee and didn't mention the transmission!! I would not have put all that money into a car with a leaking transmission! I decided not to drive to the mountains because the car was not safe (like I was promised). A Firestone supervisor offered to refund the gaskets that were improperly installed but they refused to refund the scratched up brakes and offered to redo them. I don't want new brakes on a car with a leaking transmission! So Firestone is actually: Fixed Right or We MIGHT fix it again... Only a few days later, my car won't start at all. It won't move at all. I will update/ remove this if I actually get the Firestone Fixed Right or Free guarantee worked out. My next step, BBB. read more

I usually have no issues with this location and chose it - even though it is further from home - because of my positive experiences with the service and staff in the past. I walked in without an appointment last Wednesday at 10:30am for an oil change. While it looked busy, I thought it wouldn't be too long and besides it was my day off...I had time to spare. I dropped off my keys and confirmed my contact number. I leisurely walked to the Goodwill and poked around to kill time. I checked my phone often thinking I had bad reception or the phone was on vibrate or I'd miss the "Your car is ready" call in some way. I couldn't be further from reality. I walked back to the shop an hour later and hung out inside for a bit. I had to literally stand around because the seats were all taken so I took my "day off dilemma" having a$$ outside in the sweltering heat where I could sit in the shade, lean up on my car(cause that joker still hadn't moved!), or just climb back in it and get on my phone to complete other day off errands. They still had my keys so air conditioning was out of the question. After another hour of being patient, quietly observant, hot and increasingly bothered, I went back inside to wait - some more - while reading my newly purchased book. At this point my mental timer was on and if by 1pm there was no progress I decided it was time to go...a chick has better things to do with her day off than sit invisibly in a tire shop without any follow up - am I next? last? three cars back?! Do you know - 1pm came and when I politely asked for my keys back there was still no explanation of what was taking so long, why there was no follow up, a check-in, an apology. The guy was cool about it, brought the keys and showed me he wrote "ASAP" on the form. Thanks for your efforts sir...I think. All in all, I work hospitality and fully understand being busy but that doesn't excuse neglecting your customers when they're right in your lobby. 2.5 hours is a long time to sit around for an oil change. Communication would have gone a long way and I could have made the choice to wait if I wanted. Sigh. #lessonlearned read more

Although I typically get oil changes for all 6 of our vehicles at the Firestone in North Myrtle Beach, while coming back from Charleston today my oil light came on in my Outback so I decided to pull into this Firestone and ask if they would just please check my oil. Stood there for about 10 minutes and the guy comes back in so I asked if he could have someone just check my oil and explained that I have an appt scheduled for this week but my oil light came on so I was worried to drive it any further. He tells me that it's going to be a long while for anyone to check it. Although I dont know how to check my oil but do know it doesnt take more than 2 minutes to do so. I have been my oil changed in my car there for years and never had a problem. This last visit back in December 2014 reassured me I would never return. They couldn't find my information in the computer (I have been a customer for 6-7 years). I called ahead and was told there was no wait and when I got there 10-15 minutes later there was an hour and half wait and he told me there was a chance they would not be able to fit me in at all before closing. Then they tried to sell me tires I did not need (I know how much tread is on my tires). Lastly, they tried to charge me over $50 for my oil change. For the last 3 years (with this vehicle) they have charged me $29 for every oil change. When I questioned this to the guy, he said "we have been using the wrong oil for your vehicle on every oil change you had in the past and that today we used the correct oil". Seriously, I'm not sure what ticked me off more the fact they have not been giving my car the correct oil or the fact they were trying to pull a fast one over on me by overcharging because they think because I'm a female I'm too dumb to question things (like the tires they said I was in desperate need of and now charging more for oil). I have never had this experience there before and will surely never return. Oh and when I finally got my car back and I went to leave my radio volume was all the way up when I started the car and it not only scared the crap out of me but hurt my ears and could have blown my speakers!!! read more
