made an appointment to get an inspection. show up 15 minutes early, line out to the street. get seen. not even 30 seconds in the line, I'm told I need new breaks on an 11 month old vehicle. lies. told i need a new windshield wiper. lies. was told I'd fail an inspection if I didn't complete their services. couldn't get out fast enough. went to a mechanic to complete inspection in long island. in and out in 15 minutes and passed. no need for new breaks. no need for new wipers (which were just replaced). it is worth noting that the second lane to the right is dedicated to breaks and no one is there to get them done, so my thoughts are they want to con the poor soul who needs to get an annual inspection into buying new breaks. inspection shouldn't be a carnival game to fool people into buying things for their car they don't need. don't come here. read more

Took my car for an quick oil change and though everything was okay. When I got home I noticed oil on my garage floor. Took my car to a local mechanic who showed me the oil pan bolt was leaking and was stripped because it was over torqued. What a mess! Never going back here again. read more

I live in Manhattan and own a Porsche Cayenne. I figure that something simple like oil change does not require a Porsche mechanics, and pay the high price of the service. But it has been hard to get shop to do it at a reasonable price and service. I went to Jiffy Lube and gave it a shot. It worked out great. The staff were friendly and professional. The service was done in less than 20 minutes while I waited in the car. I had to talk with them ahead of time to make sure they have the oil filter in stock. Also, I had to bring my own motor oil because of Porsche requirement. I would go back every year to do the oil change there. read more

There is nothing "Jiffy" or "Fast" about this place. We waited 2 1/2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Staff was unfriendly and place was operated horribly inefficiently. It was painful to watch this crew in action. This place needs a decent manager to help operations run better to say the least. Left feeling frustrated and annoyed. I travel a lot in my car around New York and the surrounding states. I go to Jiffy Lube because of the consistency of the pricing, the fact that they have my vehicle on file (it's a 20 year old Toyota 4Runner) and can give it the same oil every time. Well, not this time at this place. I consistently pay around or just under $60 at every JL I go to, but at this place? $81 and change. No reason. Exact same service. Exact same oil. And mind you I just had my oil changed in late August at a JL for $59 in New York, so prices cannot have adjusted that much. I called out the guy about it and he just shrugged. Didn't care, couldn't explain. Another guy mumbled something about ownership structure for this branch making the prices different. Whatever. The only place I felt lubed up after this experience was where the sun don't shine. Never again. read more

This Jiffy Lube on Northern Blvd is run very well. They have friendly staff and the wait times are practically non existent. I take my Jeep here every three months for an oil change and it is always a seamless process. I'm always impressed with the service every time I leave. Unacceptable service! I give them a -6. Went in for a routine state inspection. Wasn't greeted professionally, they were very rude and unwilling to help.My vehicle's e-brake line needed adjustment so it could pass. I asked if they could do the work which is not a complicated job. It's not a super time consuming and complicated job as an engine or tranny swap is. It is a super easy job to adjust on the spot. I think it's absolutely funny too bc jiffy lube loves doing gravy work like that. It was an opportunity to capitalize on the job make some money and get the inspection done. Anyways , won't be going to them ever again. GARBAGE! Don't waste your time. Only reason I went in was bcuz my main mechanic is out of state. Great service! Employees weren't pushy which I liked. They were very knowledgeable and reminded me about the free car wash and 3,000 mile top off program. I paid for a $119.15 Signature Service Synthetic. I was observing and they didn't perform Rainx Window Treatment, Fuel Jewels 1 step fuel system, and vacuum the floors. I didn't even saw them replace the filter. They said they also checked the all fluids including transmission and differential, filter, belts, lights and tire pressure. All of the service was done in no longer than 15min. I never saw them perform any of that. Comparing when I went to Jiffy Lube in Riverhead, I really saw what I paid for. Maybe they're thinking I'm dumb. But I do know a lot about cars, I just don't have the time or garage to do it myself. I haven't checked my skid plates yet. I read a lot of reviews that they didn't put it back right. I'll cross my fingers! I feel sorry for those who do not know anything about cars and just putting there trust in them. There is no point of arguing because they will just DENY! I just left. Much better just to get the word out. read more

Went for an oil change. Was informed that my car needed upgraded oil (synthetic) for my car make and model but that a $15 coupon would go towards my total. They never applied the coupon despite asking about it twice. On the website of all Jiffy Lube franchises, it says that oil changes include inside-vacuum for the car. I specifically went to Jiffy for this perk rather than a nearby service. They claimed that it was not valid because they didn't have "any vacuums" and that there would be no discount or add-on because "nothing lost, nothing gained." I have now been on a long email chain with multiple people trying to resolve to no luck. read more

I never post on Yelp but this is too funny not to post. Took my car here recently for a typical oil change. Usually, their oil change service is fairly decent for the price and speed. However, this time around, I was told by the main guy that he cannot start my car and that my battery is completely dead. Although my car is fairly old, it never had battery problems and I got to the jiffy lube fine that morning. I was skeptical and told him I didn't want to change the battery because it would have been too much, he said he will try to jump start it and what do you know, it works fine and I leave the shop. The following day, I took my car to the local pep boys to have it tested and replaced it possible since they carry better lines of battery brands. And wow, they said my battery is fine and has no problems at all! They could have easily lied to me for my business, but they didn't. 2 stars because the oil change is actually decent. Efficient, solid, will try to upsell you but will back off when you ask. I have a car. I needed an oil change. I went to the interwebs, printed out a coupon, and drove here. In and out in just over 30 minutes. Sitting area is fine, service is fine, everything is fine. They'll try to upsell you on high mileage service, filters, anything and everything they can think of. You just need to be smart enough to decide what you actually want versus what they want to sell you. Yes, the price for oil changes is a bit more than I've gotten at other places, but for convenience and efficiency this Jiffy Lube does the job. Not much more to say than that. read more

I got a Honda last year....it needs to be serviced just twice and was "convinced" to go to the Honda service center and I was not happy. They don't vacuum, you need to make an appt and leave your car....too much for an oil change! Forget it - back to Jiffy! Here, I dove up maybe 4:15 in the afternoon, crossed the Blvd to get a Starbucks, crossed right back and I'm already done!! Even the floor was vacuumed! I've been here twice. The first time was for an oil change and most recently, I came to get my car inspected. I came here for the first time because the reviews said the service was quick. It took over 1.5 hours for my oil change (the reviews said it took like 30 mins). Also, the service person at the counter kept confusing me with another Asian woman. I had to remind him to give me my free car wash voucher, which came with oil change. During my next visit, I dropped off my car to get my vehicle inspection. I ran errands while they worked on my car, so i didn't mind if it took a little longer. Plus, my expectations for timliness was not high. They called me when my car was ready for pick up. When I got back to my car, I noticed that they left pieces of my old inspection sticker on my dashboard. It looked like there was a mice in my car that was chewing on paper. It was unprofessional. However, I must say, that the man that accepted my car when I dropped it off was very nice. So, my rating is really a 2.5. read more

There could be lines of cars waiting but don't expect these guys to work with a sense of urgency during busy times. Last time came in before their stated business hours (8:00 am). Someone who just looked liked he rolled out of bed decided to show up at 8:20 just to open shop. The first thing he states, nothing until 9:00. This was my second time coming in for a routine oil change to this location. This time it happened to be when the branch general manager Andy was there. This time I was in and out in under a hour. They topped off all my fluids, replaced my filters, cleaned the interior of the car, wiped down all the windows, adjusted the tire pressure, and of course the oil change. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars, is because my first time there service wasn't the same. I came in the other day for their Signature Service with a Groupon. The Groupon wasn't working, but I had to take a long drive that day so they topped off my oil and put air in my tires free of charge. When I came back the next day there were different guys working there, but they were just as nice! Service was fast and friendly. They take their time to explain what they plan to do (not what they've already done) without making you feel like you don't know anything about your car. I've decided to finally review this location after 3 strikes and now wish I had done it sooner to warn others. The first visit over 2 years ago was for an oil change and everything was fine, if way more expensive than where I now get my oil changed. However, a few weeks later my engine seized and had to be replaced. Geico thankfully considered it an "act of God" since it looked like a screw was left off causing the oil to very slowly drip out. Of course we couldn't prove this so I was out of luck. I just never bothered to come back until a few days ago when needing an inspection. To be fair, I should have gotten it done sooner by the shop that I now trust and love (Steinway Auto Repairs), but have been incredibly busy and they were the only ones opened on a Sunday. Long story short, I failed the computer test because I had just gotten a new battery and the computer needed to "reset." They said drive it around a bit and should be ready to go. After wasting my busy day driving around aimlessly, it failed again then I was told about how many people this happens to and how I have ten days after the inspection end date to drive it and try again. Where was this magical solution prior to wasting my whole day? To top it all off, for the third strike, I just came back to pass the test and was told by a different manager that inspections close at 6, though I wasn't told that and his response was "well it's new." So apparently I need to be psychic. He then rudely told me he'd get to it eventually after begging him despite the test only taking 10min so here I sit waiting...and while doing so talked with other unhappy customers so guess it's not just me. Sorry for the rant, but the moral of the story is DO NOT COME HERE! read more
