My partner brought us to Jill's Place for dinner and it was my first time here - a lovely hole-in-the-wall restaurant I had no idea existed! It's very down-to-earth with rustic vibes, where everyone sitting at the bar seemed to know everyone else! Very easy going and authentic atmosphere. They have lots of old equipment hung on the walls as decoration, along with several old-timey posters promoting Fiesta over the years. The waitresses and bartender were so nice! We got potato skins for an appetizer, a chicken sandwich with fries for him, and a French dip turkey sandwich with tater tots for me. The potato skins were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, with the most amazing bacon bits on top! My sandwich was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. It also came with a side salad that was simple but very fresh and yummy. The tots were hot and crispy. Everything was wonderful! After a long day on the train to Santa Barbara, we found this place a couple of blocks from where we were staying. The service was friendly, the place casual, and our food was delicious. I'll be honest. I could have eaten anything in Santa Barbara. I hadn't eaten anything since 9am and it was 5pm when I arrived in Santa Barbara. I walked one mile away because of the great things I heard about Jill's Place. And you know what? I was not disappointed! I was stoked and impressed greatly I had two wonderful, dazzling, and sweet waitresses (lucky me!). I was served a yummy chicken breast sandwich and it was the best one I had ever! No seriously! It wasn't too salty and the bread was golden brown and ready to be munched on. The tator tots had the perfect texture. It's almost as I had food from some amazing restaurant, which, hello, I did The place was packed, since it was Fiesta, but I imagine it always is. It sucks I live 45 minutes from this great establishment. The atmosphere was fun and a little country, but I love that. It's casual, and not some elegant place like Lucky's is. A senior couple sitting next to us, was also DISTURBED by Tony's behavior & agreed with the statements I made to him & said we were right to speak-out & they supported us. We went for happy hour on a Friday night, was suggested to us by a very nice local. Server told us to sit down by a mirror, when we were about to sit, he told us to sit somewhere else. It was quite cold inside, so we opted to sit outside, so we could at least sit in the sun. Ordered multiple items off of the happy hour menu. Steak bites, fried chicken and mash, tater tots, Brussel sprouts and the potato skins. Happy hour prices are only $1 or $2 less than the regular menu price. So...do with that info what you will. The food came out really fast. Under 10 minutes, that's for sure. Everything was really good. I really liked the Brussels, and the potato skins. The steak bites were good. I will say; there is a dill something going on in the chicken. I'm not a huge fan of dill, so that's a me thing. Overall a good dinner. I just wouldn't necessarily call the happy hour menu a happy hour menu, just the apps on another piece of paper lol read more

The other night when my partner and I decided to have a staycation, we came across Jill's place as always, but unfortunately, the patio had been cleaned up and we had our French bulldog with us at first we did not want to inconvenience anyone but the staff there was very persistent that they are OK with us going inside with our dog and that just goes to show how amazing there customer service was ! They definitely saw two hungry customers ! lol The food was amazing! The staff was so wonderful! On this #ThankYou Thursday my gratitude goes to Jill's Place and the hardworking staff here. I can always count on Karch to hook me up with the JP margarita, and the food is always delicious. Lately, it's the mini sliders and garlic fries that I've been ordering. They are the perfect bite sized burgers offered on their happy hour menu. This happens to be my top favorite place in town for happy hour! I came here on a Wednesday night for a gathering to send off one of our fellow coworkers who got a new job. We had a very large party, and luckily there was plenty of room to seat all of us. Normally reservations are recommended for a large party, but since it was slower during the weekday we got lucky! The staff kindly took our orders and everyone enjoyed themselves. I especially appreciated how we were able to get our own tab. It can get complicated with big parties, so that was a plus! Happy Hour time has changed from 4-6pm and prices have increased a little, but still very reasonable compared to other places in town. The owner Jill took time out to visit our table, talk and spend time with us. She was down to earth and so personable. 10/10 would highly, highly recommend.
