best breakfast sandwich i've had in years ! i couldn't stop eating it!!! i totally recommend it and the mimosas are super good most of it champagne with a tiny splash of OJ ;) iykyk service wasn't as friendly but it was fast and the only thing id change about the ambiance was how hot it felt inside maybe a little AC wouldn't hurt !? cowboy decor in general super cute

Welcoming environment, very friendly staff! We got a few things from the menu and they were all pretty good. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to discover a new restaurant. Food overall is a solid 7.5 My favorite was probably the buttermilk chicken! I got the appetizer portion but they do have an entree option. Wasn't a big fan of the bread they serve, cheese was a little too stinky for my liking & the bread itself was pretty hard.

I'll be honest. I could have eaten anything in Santa Barbara. I hadn't eaten anything since 9am and it was 5pm when I arrived in Santa Barbara. I walked one mile away because of the great things I heard about Jill's Place. And you know what? I was not disappointed! I was stoked and impressed greatly I had two wonderful, dazzling, and sweet waitresses (lucky me!). I was served a yummy chicken breast sandwich and it was the best one I had ever! No seriously! It wasn't too salty and the bread was golden brown and ready to be munched on. The tator tots had the perfect texture. It's almost as I had food from some amazing restaurant, which, hello, I did The place was packed, since it was Fiesta, but I imagine it always is. It sucks I live 45 minutes from this great establishment. The atmosphere was fun and a little country, but I love that. It's casual, and not some elegant place like Lucky's is. I'd still show up in a suit, if I could and would. Definitely check this place out and ask for the two blonde sisters who work there. They'll dazzle you with their charm and diction Hope to be back again one day!

The filet mignon was a bit salty. I have been here multiple times and this time it was the saltiest I have ever eaten.

Came here for dinner before the comedy show at the Lobero Theater, just in time for happy hour. Very good appetizers and drinks. Our waiter was very nice and friendly and attended us right away. Would definitely recommend if you're in town and want to dine somewhere that is not on state street.

    New York/medium well

We went for happy hour on a Friday night, was suggested to us by a very nice local. Server told us to sit down by a mirror, when we were about to sit, he told us to sit somewhere else. It was quite cold inside, so we opted to sit outside, so we could at least sit in the sun. Ordered multiple items off of the happy hour menu. Steak bites, fried chicken and mash, tater tots, Brussel sprouts and the potato skins. Happy hour prices are only $1 or $2 less than the regular menu price. So...do with that info what you will. The food came out really fast. Under 10 minutes, that's for sure. Everything was really good. I really liked the Brussels, and the potato skins. The steak bites were good. I will say; there is a dill something going on in the chicken. I'm not a huge fan of dill, so that's a me thing. Overall a good dinner. I just wouldn't necessarily call the happy hour menu a happy hour menu, just the apps on another piece of paper lol

JP margarita always made extra stiff by Karch :)

On this #ThankYou Thursday my gratitude goes to Jill's Place and the hardworking staff here. I can always count on Karch to hook me up with the JP margarita, and the food is always delicious. Lately, it's the mini sliders and garlic fries that I've been ordering. They are the perfect bite sized burgers offered on their happy hour menu. This happens to be my top favorite place in town for happy hour! I came here on a Wednesday night for a gathering to send off one of our fellow coworkers who got a new job. We had a very large party, and luckily there was plenty of room to seat all of us. Normally reservations are recommended for a large party, but since it was slower during the weekday we got lucky! The staff kindly took our orders and everyone enjoyed themselves. I especially appreciated how we were able to get our own tab. It can get complicated with big parties, so that was a plus! Happy Hour time has changed from 4-6pm and prices have increased a little, but still very reasonable compared to other places in town. I am thankful for the wonderful service each time I come here, and they can count on me to be a loyal customer. Thank you Jill and staff!

Beautiful flowers included daily!! Oh did I mention the food. I'm a loyal guest. I recommend this place all the time!

It was a cute area, and we could enjoy the nice weather! Loved the vibes here! All of the dishes we had here were a hit! They start you off with some complimentary Dill Pickle Popcorn. It's seasoned with allspice, turmeric, garlic, and chili flakes. A fun little appetizer to get your tastebuds ready! Dishes are meant to be shared, and four was a perfect amount of two people. We got the "Tutti Frutti Farms" Roasted Beet Salad. It had strawberries, whipped goat ricotta, salted pistachio, and nastrurtium. Such gorgeous presentation, and a nice bright and fresh dish to begin the meal. Next we had the Jidori Chicken Liver Mousse. Loved this! It had roasted blueberries, hazelnut praline, lemon thyme, and grilled sourdough. Such a perfect combination of flavors and textures! We also had Crispy Brussel Sprouts. These were probably some of the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had! The savory sesame and garum paired with sweetness from the dates, a crunch from the puffed wild rice, and some tartness from the lime were incredible together! Another amazing dish! Lastly, we had the Handmade Rigatoni Pasta. It had sugar snap peas, maitake mushrooms, piedmont white truffle butter, parmesan, and pea tendrils. While this dish was good, it did feel a little more ordinary than the other three dishes we had. Would recommend the Roasted Beet Salad, Chicken Liver Mousse, and Brussels Sprouts first! For a drink, I got the Tea Time, which has strawberry, peach, ginger, rosemary, and tea. It's under the "Free-Spirited"/Mocktail menu, and it was refreshing! Can't wait to come back on my next visit to Santa Barbara!

Those recommendations gave us an easy place to start, and neither dish disappointed. We were seated on the outdoor patio beneath the trees, surrounded by greenery and warm string lights. It felt comfortable and intimate, especially as evening settled in. This would be a great setting for a date night, dinner with friends, or anyone who prefers a lively restaurant without sacrificing conversation. A generous bowl of seasoned popcorn arrived first and disappeared quickly. It was crisp, savory, and a fun alternative to the usual bread basket. We ordered several rounds of the West Coast oysters, served ice cold with lemongrass and Thai chili granita. They were fresh and briny, with enough brightness and subtle heat from the granita to complement them without overpowering their natural flavor. Oyster lovers should put these at the top of the order. The fried chicken was another standout. The crust was deeply crisp while the chicken remained juicy, and the creamy grits underneath made it especially satisfying. Scallions and plenty of house-made pickles brought freshness and acidity to the plate, balancing the richer elements. This is a substantial dish and an ideal one to share. The menu lends itself well to ordering a few plates for the table, which worked perfectly for us. We paired dinner with wine and appreciated being able to take our time rather than feeling rushed through the meal. The Lark delivered exactly what we wanted from a Santa Barbara dinner: excellent oysters, a fried chicken dish worth sharing, an inviting patio, and a relaxed evening over good food and wine. I would gladly order both dishes again.

We had to get someone to check on "one" meal that was never brought for my daughter. The server came to the table to ask what happened? Yup you guessed it took him forever to return to tell us that oops the kitchen was slammed and either they forgot to make the order or faced it to another table seriously who says that? The manager came to the table to apologize and said oh I'm sorry about that I'll take it off your tab. WTH that is the least you should do. Well let me comp you with some desserts, no thanks. It took them over 20 minutes to provide us with the bill. This was the worst experience I've ever had, management did not handle the situation properly. Also, this is my FIRST negative review ever. But I just had to vent because this really made me angry especially on a night when we were out to celebrate my husband's birthday with the family. The decor of the restaurant makes you feel like you've stepped into New Orleans--murals, Mardi Gras themed items, and cards on the ceiling! I was so excited that they bring out complimentary mini muffins! They are SO good! They have a few different flavors like banana nut, jalapeno corn, a rosemary one, etc. Definitely a highlight! For appetizers, we ordered the Cajun Popcorn and the Soft Shell Crab. I haven't had a lot of crawfish before, so I really wanted to try the Cajun Popcorn. These crawfish tails are dipper in cornbread buttermilk batter and fried. They're crispy and fun to eat! They give a sherry wine dipping sauce, which was also yummy! Would recommend getting these! We also wanted to try the Soft Shell Crab, and you can get it as an appetizer or an entree. The appetizer comes with one soft shell crab that's been stuffed with Bienville crabmeat dressing, coated the cornmeal flour, and flash fried. It has just the right amount of crispiness! It's served with a jalapeno beurre-blanc and rice. For our entree, we shared the Crawfish Pasta Lafitte. We couldn't get enough of the crawfish tails so decided to get the pasta that had them as well. The pasta also had caramelized onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, cream, and creole seasoning. Very tasty! Would recommend this pasta! For the fun part that I mentioned--they have a magician that walks around and does magic tricks at each table! It was entertaining and very cool to see some of the tricks up close! They also have a Sing-Along moment in the evening where they'll had out lyric sheets to everyone, turn on the music, and everyone sings the song together. They were playing "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong on the evening I was there, but the song changes and they ask you not to open the lyrics book until right before the song, so it's a surprise!

This took stage on the rooftop of the Canary Hotel. Chef John Vasquez and team really outdid themselves by making this a memorable experience! We sat communal style and they rolled out the Louisiana style crawfish on the table. They were a beautiful reddish orange color and tasted just like the sea. It also came with potatoes, corn, artichoke, sausage and clarified butter for dipping. I do wish it was a little more seasoned, but I don't know if that's possible with the shell on. Nonetheless it still was delicious! Paired with some brews from Validation Ale and it was the perfect combination. The views, staff, vibes and people is what made the evening a memorable experience. Overall, a great restaurant to check out at the Canary Hotel.
