Ribs were St. Louis style ribs and a little on the fatty side but the taste profile was quite good showing that the pit master had his act together. The BBQ sauce provided with the meal was a good match...tangy and a bit spicy! Sausage was excellent tasty and juicy! Meal fell kinda short when it comes to sides, potato salad was vinegar based and eggy, baked beans were not to my liking. Don't get me wrong folks were getting these sides like it was moms home cooking but the taste wasn't in my wheelhouse.... Sorry. Anyway this revived BBQ house is going places! We ordered beef ribs and baby backs ribs. My beef rib had the best flavor I have ever had! It could have had some more meat on it but the owner and I talked and we both know the butchers these days are cutting them a little to close. Next time I want the brisket because if the rib tasted this good I can't wait for the brisket. Our pork ribs on the other had were extra meaty. Tender and juicy. The atmosphere is just what I like in a classic but comfortable BBQ restaurant. On a hot rainy day, AC is much appreciated... Until my next visit, we look forward to returning.

The lady who took our order did not greet us & smile one time, and had attitude about our questions. I asked her twice if they had creamed corn and silence. It was hard to get an answer out of her. Ok, no big deal, we can get past that. We found a booth at the front, on the side, sat with our two kids- a toddler and a baby. Feed the baby while we waited for our food. Clearly we had our hands full and we were one of two tables there. They called my name, while my husband and I were trying to settle the kids. Three employees at the pick up area, and none brought our food. Could have been a small gesture that means a lot to parents. Ok, again, no big deal- that was just an observation. What really tipped us over was when one of the employees turned off the lights JUST on our side of the restaurant at 2:20pm when we had just started eating. It's already dark in this place with the lights on. She came by and said "you can leave everything there and we'll come get it when you're done" I asked her if the lights were going to stay off and she said "yeah that's what we do when start to close, but don't rush" No smile and said it as she walked away. Don't rush?! You just turned off the lights on our side of the room. You clearly want us out. We were a party of 15 Guests and were there for a gathering of monthly Birthday celebrations of four Corpus Christi area Friends! We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly as an area was reserved for our party of 15. Our Waitress was "Ashley"! She was Very nice, smiled often, was very patient and extremely efficient in wrangling everyone's order. Ashley had a great attitude and was super in every aspect of her job and with everything she did. As with anything in life, her ability to effectively communicate with her Customers was Stellar. She had minor assistance from other servers and for the most part she handled our party by herself and continued to provide service to other large parties in the same room. WOW! She took our orders in a calm and effective manner and remembered all the tiny details that any table could impose on "Wait" Staff. Her poise, superb ability to communicate effectively and a Wonderful attitude made our stay a memorable one. Mistakes NONE! Complaints; some steaks had gristle on them. Really! That was a very minor issue and all agreed that it did not curb our appetite or spoil our celebration.
