The corn muffins are definitely a go to, you will eat more than one. If you're looking for a good appetizer go for the smoked wigs. There's flavor and the wings are a good size. If it's your first time I'd recommend the three meats ( brisket, pulled pork and the ribs). Everything was good but hands down the ribs and smoked wings are the best items on the menu in my opinion. Jim 'N Nick's is a large, roomy barbque eatery. Order at the counter and find a table. The restaurant is large, roomy and clean. The service is friendly and the food arrived fairly quickly, hot and quite tasty. Portion size is good. Actually this was a really good experience. We had a party of 6 and everyone were very satisfied with the total experience . It's a little pricey but not out of line with the competition. I wasn't expecting the fast food ambiance that is apparent as soon as you enter. The food was mediocre at best which surprised me since the reviews seemed very positive. (I had the chopped salad with chicken and my husband had a burger with potato salad. We also ordered the banana pudding.) When our food was delivered, my husband was given the wrong side and our order of banana pudding was missing. Jim N Nick's was solid. I heard that this one of the best places to go for bbq and it didn't disappoint. I had the 3 meat combo and I chose the brisket, chicken and turkey. All 3 were pretty good, however I felt like the brisket was on the dry side but it was still awesome. The Mac and cheese was out of this world! And the muffins were amazing too. Basically I learned that cheese makes everything better Our server was very kind and attentive, but the only thing was that we had gotten our food before our utensils and we had asked like 3 different times. It's was honestly not a big deal but its kinda hard just staring at the food while it's getting cold waiting for a fork and knife. Other than that, i had a phenomenal experience. This was my first meal in Alabama and it sure set the bar high. I look forward to coming back and trying the ribs and other delicious meats. A fantastic choice for barbecue. I must say that I am a huge fan of Alabama barbecue, particularly the chicken with the white sauce. So I visit the Jom & Nick's in Huntsville, Alabama late on a Sunday evening and was immediately and soul crushingly told that they did not have the chicken. I ordered the pork and sausage combination platter and found it very good (though the chicken will still be my go to). My server, Delaney, came over and had said that she had spoken to her manager and since they did not have the chicken, they wanted to offer me a complimentary dessert. A very class act and kudos to both Delaney and the manager for having the foresight to make this gesture to make a negative become a positive. Of course the food here is amazing, but this post is to recognize their customer service. We ordered lunch Sunday November 1 after church. We called the order in and asked for no almonds or tomato on the Pig in the Garden salad due to an allergy. When we got home both almonds and tomatoes were on the salad. We called and spoke to Chris who was incredibly helpful, and showed tremendous customer service! He sent us a gift card to cover the salad. It pains me to say this, but this had to be THE WORST brisket I've ever had in my life. My family and I wanted to celebrate Memorial Day by having BBQ, and since we don't have a grill, I thought we could order some BBQ takeout from here. I've been to the Birmingham locations before but this was my first time at the Huntsville location. I was super excited to have brisket after reading all the reviews and seeing the pictures, but when we opened our container at home, it already looked bone dry. None of us wanted to eat it after just looking at it. However, this was an expensive plate (~$22) and we didn't want it to go to waste. My dad commented "it was like chewing on beef jerky". It was definitely not the soft, juicy brisket I had imagined. For the price, we got 6 slices. Honestly, that was already overpriced, but when I consider the quality, it was definitely not worth it. The sides were okay. The beans weren't anything special but I don't have anything to complain. The only upside was the mac and cheese. It's sad that a side dish was the star of the meal. I don't know what happened to our order. Maybe it was just this particular day. However, I know that I will be taking my brisket-loving business elsewhere. read more

I find it difficult to believe that I have never reviewed Jim 'N Nick's! It is chain BBQ. Their cheesy biscuit muffins are SO GOOD! With a party of six they were fast and accommodating during lunch rush, even when we added plus two. Drinks were never more than 3/4 empty, the muffins didn't run out, and lunch was on the table before we knew it. I really wanted to try the Deviled Eggs, but with muffins like that...I abandoned the thought. Out of 6+2=8 people during weekday lunch rush, everyone's food order was accurate, fresh/warm, and good. I had the two meat chicken/pork with BBQ Beans and Mac N Cheese at their recommendation. Very good. They were a little skimpy with the sauce, but we squared that away. The atmosphere was noisier than I remember, but with the lifted mask mandate I can read lips again. :). I had no idea how much I relied on that for good communication until COVID hit us and everyone was wearing a mask. Minus one star because BBQ is ultra competitive and on every corner of this city.
