Stopped here for dinner on a Friday night while on a road trip. Food was good. The complimentary cheese biscuits they serve are soo good. Service was very slow. We had a party of ten, but that shouldn't be an issue. We went through just about our entire meal without a drink refill because our waitress just wasn't around much. When she was around, I felt like she was a little frazzled. Didn't want to judge because I don't know what she has going on. I would typically at least mention this to management, not to be an annoying customer, but so they can fix any issues, but I was extremely tired myself and we were all just ready to get back on the road. Thankfully the food was hot. It came out at different times, and two in our party had to get their orders corrected. I shared a 3 meat platter with my husband and my daughter had chicken tenders. They never answered. Went in. COMPLETELY disorganized. Tried using the code to scan a menu, that didn't work. Tried telling someone as I waited in line to order take out. She said she's told leadership and it's fallen on deaf ears. I finally make it to the front and I'm told the wait is an hour and a half. Thought there would be a to more bbq joints around these parts and this was one of the ones that came up close to my hotel while k was here for business. So i thought I'd give it a shot...wasn't sure if I was heading to a hole-in-the-wall or a large restaurant. It turned out to be the latter. There were maybe 30-40 ppl eating at the time so I figured it was a decently popular place so was pretty easy enough to get a seat for a party of one. They have yeungling! Woohoo! Of course, this is gonna need a little explanation; This is a personal favorite beer of mine...both sentimental and taste wise. Plus you can't get it out in Cali...it's really hard. Trust me. But the fact they had this beer here just brought them up a star =) Menu - opted for the pulled pork sammich with two trimmings; the bbq beans and the cole slaw. Biscuits are super fresh, and you know how I know? They came after my food arrived haha. The pulled pork (on wheat) was good...but it was pretty much an open faced sandwich for me cuz the bun was a little too thin and fell apart on me when I cut it in half. But it was good. The bbq beans were decent and the cole slaw was drier than I'm accustomed to but very flavorful. But those biscuits....O...M....G. Excellent. They look like mini muffins and look like the were topped with a little butter but the reason I loved them most of all was cuz they were so fresh out the oven that they were so soft and moist. Man oh man! I'm coming back just for these guys! They serve their own bbq sauces; original and habanero. Both are pretty good and the habanero isn't that spicy, prob a mild(3 on a 10-scale) if I had to rate it. Service - totally friendly and warm. Made me feel very welcome. My Godson family was literally coming from the gravesite and the manager of the store comes up to my Godson and said "I hope you dressed up for the right reason" what ?? Excuse me ?? What does that even mean ?? We didn't look like him and he left us no choice but to believe that his comment was based on the way we looked. We were dressed in church attire ? I would encourage you to think twice about eating here and investing your money where people don't respect persons of all races !! We reserved the front party room and had about 50 people shoved in there and spilling out into the bar area. The only reason I am cutting them a star is that the order taking was very haphazard. I love Jim n Nick's!! This location isn't the best, but it's good enough! I adore that they have a drive-thru. Drive-thru barbecue?? Heck yes please!!! The drive-thru has a slightly more limited menu though. Their biscuits are amazing. My go-to lunch is the bbq macaroni and cheese. I like pretty much everything I've eaten here: the deviled eggs, bbq potato, pulled pork, pulled chicken, bbq nachos, everything! The one item I did not enjoy was the Carolina style pork, which as most people know, has vinegar based sauce. This had WAY too much vinegar. Best barbecue I've had in awhile. Flew down to Alabama to surprise my little brother who attends Alabama state and went out to try this nice little establishment while we were here . No wait time when we arrived and the servers were excellent. Real Souter comfort food with true southern hospitality. Where to start. First off they were heavily understaffed and our Hostess was also our server. No I will say our waitress was very helpful and did what she good to have accommodate us but like I was mentioning they were understaffed and the waitresses that were there were just sitting at the side doing nothing. We finally did get our food the fries were cold and the portions were so small I could fit them in a thimble. I ordered the Mr Jim's combo plate with two Meats which was pitiful. The meat was dry and cold on both the chicken and pulled pork and the chicken looked as if it was leftovers. I had to ask for another serving of chicken which took another 15 minutes to get to me. Not only that my silverware was dirty and when I asked for some more the waitress that wasn't doing anything, she had dark hair mixed in with white hair, she dropped off to go plastic ware. Even when I got my third refill of water that particular water tastes like they got it straight out the toilet. I know it's been a few years since I've been to Jim and Nick's and I remember it being a lot better this was just disappointing and pitiful I don't think we'll be coming back here again due to not only the lack of Personnel but also the lack of quality of the food. read more

I made the mistake of changing my order based on seeing what a couple of people at a neighboring table had ordered. I had the loaded baked potato with all of the toppings including barbecue. While it was good it was a lot more potato than barbecue and fixings. While our server was friendly, service was slow for a Tuesday at lunch. Hence, we were a little burned out on BBQ, but were pleasantly surprised with Jim N Nick's. I'd seen them all over The South in my travels, but this would be my first experience. We stopped in late (roughly 30 minutes before closing) and had excellent service in the bar area. It was the first time we had their biscuits and they were excellent here. In fact, they are addicting! I ordered the turkey plate (with mash potatoes and gravy and sweet potato casserole and my friend had the fried catfish. The turkey was tasty and juicy and the catfish was fried but no greasy at all. And, all the sides were very, very good.
