I was looking for a hard-to-find part for my 06 odyssey (2 1/2 hrs.). I called the dealership to verify they had the part in stock. The parts dept verified it was in stock. They did not ship the part for 3 days. When I got the part, it looked used (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRAe-PD9h4o). It was also defective. The 7-day window lapsed because the car was at the mechanics. As soon as I got the results, I called the parts manager, who gave me the tuff luck act. I told the parts manager I had video of the part. He pointed me back to the website to message him and send the pics. Our Pilot had a recall on it and they got us in right away. The service, professionalism and communication was great! They didn't try and tell us things that we needed in addition to what needed to be done. Yes, they made recommendations but we're not pushy about it. We did have to have one additional thing done and they were honest about how long the part might take. I appreciated that, but when we got there, they had found the part they needed and switched out right there. We will definitely be returning customers of theirs and I don't normally take a car to a dealership because of the upscale and the cost of labor they charge. read more

This has been the worst experience here and I will never come back. I am a young college girl who does not need to spend unneeded money while dealing with men who are trying to scam me when I'm coming in for free services. I came in for a free oil change and tire rotation for my brand new hrv. The man that I spoke to at the desk knew this information as well. When I came in, he told me to wait at his desk so we could speak after he looks at my car. I should've known that was my first red flag. He then went on to tell me I needed a "differential" that would be $167 based on my car code. He made it seem like I needed a "differential" to go with my free oil change and tire rotation. He did not explain well what a "differential" was and did not explain that this was a whole other service that he was trying to get me to sign on. I even asked if this was normal with this maintenance deal new cars get, and he said yes. I talked on the phone the day prior and was made aware that everything would be free when I came in, so why is he trying to add a whole new service to my car when it doesn't need it? I sat down and decided to reach out to people who works on cars, and I was told I was being scammed and I need to leave. I walked back up to his desk and I specifically told him that I do not want to do this anymore and I am uncomfortable. I told him multiple times I am not comfortable continuing this. He went out to talk with the tech guy and I waited at his desk for about another 5 minutes. He came inside and asked me "did you have any more questions"? I said no and that I needed my car keys and he acted completely baffled by the fact that I'm not continuing the services today. He then went on to say that he thought I meant I didn't want to do the "differential" but still complete the oil change and tire rotation, because those are free. I told him I am not comfortable continuing service here and he went "ok"? He looked at me like I was crazy that I am not continuing the service when I already told him I was not comfortable continuing. He hid his rudeness by acting nice to me in some ways, and then was passive aggressive to me. I will make sure everyone I know does not do their business here. I can't imagine how many women this place or specifically this man has scammed. It is such a shame because I had a great conservation on the phone the day prior and I walk into the store and this is what I had to deal with. We were traveling from Buffalo when we lost a cylinder due to piston ring failure. They diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes of our arrival at 10:30 am. Mechanic stayed until 7 pm dismantling engine. Came in at 6 am next morning to install piston ring kit overnighted to them. We were on the road with 1/2 engine total rebuild by 2:30 pm that day. Incredible service, excellent motel recommendation and communication throughout, free rides. Best service I have ever had from any dealer ever. read more

Tried their service department two times. The first time I dropped it off at 8 am for front brakes, transmission flush, brake flush, and differential flush. Told it would be done by 4pm. They called at 5 and said they weren't done and needed to keep it until the next day. Not done until noon the following day. Today dropped it off at 10a for a new steering wheel. Told installation would be two hours. After four hours had gone by, I called for an update. On hold for 10 minutes and then told they would call me back. After 50 minutes I called back and after waiting on hold another 10 minutes I was told they wouldn't be done until end of day. 7hours for a steering wheel installation with no explanation. I will look elsewhere for a Honda service department and likely would not buy another Honda from this dealer. read more

If I could rate it a zero, I would. Manager is an absolute jerk. My vehicle is in their system, they sold me the incorrect transmission fluid. I dumped one bottle in my vehicle before checking the label-- trusting that the guy gave me the right fluid. Called parts department and the guy couldn't believe his fellow employees mistake. Asked the manager for a flush because of their mistake-- they brick walled me, wouldn't do anything to right their wrong. He said that as far as he was concerned, we asked for transmission fluid and they sold it to us. He did exchange the fluid I had, but wouldn't do a flush, discount on additional fluid so I could flush, or anything. Acted like it was my fault. Checked with another dealership and this type of transmission fluid has never been used for any of the pilots. It was phased out of any Honda vehicles after 2014. I have a 2018 pilot. Everything about leasing/purchasing my Honda has gone wrong. My name was not correct on the paperwork. On top of this- I had a paint defect after a year and a half that took them MONTHS TO FIX. When they did fix it at the Jim white body shop, I was getting an error that said keyless start issue immediately after. Took it back to the dealer to be diagnosed. Waited 10 months on the part for that. Turns out that wasn't the issue. They had my car for days trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Finally I asked for a rental which Dave wasn't going to give to me. The HRV I got was filthy and smelled. Basically whoever had it before returned it and it hadn't been cleaned/detailed. Dave asked me a bunch of questions on my car. Asking if I had it serviced anywhere else or it was in an accident. I brought up the defect. He went back to the garage and brought me my ripped out copper camera wires for the keyless start module that have been exposed for 10 months held together by electrical tape!! The body shop screwed up the car. The dealership misdiagnosed the issue because they didn't want to take the time to properly find out the issue. If I could give them 0 stars, I absolutely would. If I ever purchase another Honda, it would not be here. They also outrageously quoted my mother in law for a fix on CRV. Do NOT purchase a car or have it serviced here!! read more

Bought my first Honda from Jim White I was told that they'd get the price I was looking for once I went through financing the price ended being more than what they told me. When I expressed my concern and how I was not satisfied with them the sales manager came up and told me theyd rip up the contract for the new car and not go through with the sale(which isn't what I wanted. I wanted a new car) and was told that the one sale wouldn't make or break their dealership which really made me feel like they didn't really care about how I felt and that my sale/purchase didn't matter to them. I went in on 3/16 because I had trouble with my car starting. I told Kathy Cole the guys I work with suggested you look at the starter. Her response" Oh, and they know it all?". She said it would take 3 hours to do a diagnostic test at a cost of $130. An hour later she tells me it is the battery. She took off $30 for the test and I was charged $275. The next day I had the same problem with the car not starting. I made another appt. and David Moss heard a click when I tried to start it and said immediately it was the starter. So of course I asked what are they going to do for the $275 I paid for something I didn't need. He said" what are you talking about?" I told him that I had asked to have the starter checked the week before and was charged for a battery I obviously didn't need. He had a cocky attitude. He went on to explain that it should be replaced every 5 years anyway as an excuse to justify it. He "supposedly" took off $150 of my bill, which I highly doubt, and charged me $917.00. I was told "what a good deal" I just got. He lost my business right there! And he put down the reason I was in was due to battery problems. That was to cover up the $275 charge. Sheisters!!! Do not trust them with your service. I will go to Brown Honda and I am telling everyone I know who owns or is purchasing a Honda to do the same. Try to find a bad review on this company. They filter only the good. If you had good service they send the survey every time. I didn't get one for this visit. I had to request to post a review and they said they would get back with me. So far no response. I blame myself for being uneducated about cars. But one thing I do know is that in dealing with customers the first thing and most importantly is to "listen" and recognize their needs. read more

First off, I would not recommend getting service from this dealership, especially if you are a woman who will be going alone. I went for a routine oil change (fortunately they got me in same day and there was an online coupon for $7 off). When I got home, I noticed my paperwork had the incorrect mileage on it. I went back the next day to get this fixed. First, I was told that "based on the mileage, you won't be selling or leasing this soon so there's no reason to fix the paperwork, and there is no way to correct this." I then asked how that would work should my engine need a warranty repair, given that the paperwork would show I waited too long for an oil change. I was then told that "there might be a way to do this but I don't know how." I finally said that I would be showing my dad the paperwork, and immediately was told "the woman who can fix this is on vacation, we'll call you next week." They did not call, I went back for the third time, and a very nice service manager quickly fixed my issue with no problem and he is the only reason I gave 2 stars. I 100% believe that I was treated this way because I am a woman who went to the dealership alone, especially since as soon as I mentioned bringing my dad in, they suddenly had a solution for me. I had a leased Honda CRV from this dealership. Kept getting communications from them a few months before the lease expiration that I could turn my car in 5 months early because they needed used cars so badly and get a newer car and get out of my lease. We went in January to look at a Honda Fit. My husband was terminally ill and could not get into the CRV easily any longer. The salesman, Jon Welker, told me he could get me out of my lease and into the Fit. The process took HOURS. I kept telling him we had to leave because my husband was getting so weak. Excuse after excuse ensued. Finally, after 5 hours, we got in front of the finance person. Price was not what he promised, I had to come up with an additional $1000 to get the payment down to what we could afford. She went thru the paperwork very quickly,and I just signed so we could get out of there. The next day, when I was able to fully read the contract, the remaining lease payments were added onto the price of the car, so he did not get me "out of my lease" as he promised. I called him the next day and called him out for taking advantage of our situation and deceiving me. Too late, of course, because I signed already. Don't buy here. Especially from Jon Welker. He'll say anything to make a sale! Will never buy from them again. read more

I live in Michigan, and went to Jim White to have some recall work done on my 2008 CR-V. I will not be in the market to purchase a new vehicle for almost a year from now. The service staff could not be any more professional and courteous. I was really quite surprised, because at another Honda dealership, we were treated OK. This experience set the bar so high, I don't plan to go back to the other one. Derek especially was outstanding, taking care of little details, and was communicating updates to us. We talked with a sale rep, asking for a ball park for a trade value, even though we said we planned to sell it outright, he was very accommodating, and asked us to return when we were closer to purchasing. He was pleasant, fun, and professional. I was so impressed by this dealership, I will be returning for a purchase (I already know what I will be buying) and for servicing when needed. Went in for an AC compressor warranty check. Was told that my rear brakes were nearly "metal on metal" and I needed to get new rear brakes and rotors. All for the "reasonable price" of $500, when I went in having no intent to spend anything because I was having something checked out UNDER A WARRANTY! Are you kidding me?! First of all, why were they even looking at my brakes when I took my car in for an A/C issue? And how is it possible that my rear brakes are wearing out but my front brakes are fine? And you're telling me they took the tires off my car to look at my breaks then didnt rotate them when they put them back on? All in a "19 point inspection," but they didn't catch that I had a dirty air filter or low tire pressure? I dont believe any inspection was ever done; they saw my out of state plates and wanted to take advantage of a young woman by herself and charge $450 in labor costs for an hour of work! My dad took time out of me being home on military leave to cross check this outrageous claim, and found my brakes to be perfectly fine, nowhere near "metal on metal," and same for the rotors. Because it's a 2016 car; how in the hell could it possibly need new rotors? I thought I could trust this shop since it's attached to a dealer, but clearly I was wrong. Just happy I didn't let them in the shop take advantage of me. Jim White and Honda as a whole should be ashamed for letting this kind of practice go on, and know they have lost any and all business from me and my extended family forever. Disgusting. read more

On our first visit I think we must've talked to the same dude that Nate L. from Findlay (reviewer below) got on his visit. He was rude and condescending, and really had no business being on a sales floor. We walked out and planned to never return. But NO ONE within 100 miles could match the price at Jim White. Trust me, after being treated badly by the first dude, we shopped around. Finally we decided to confront the situation and I'm so glad we did. When we let the new car sales manager know how incredibly rude this internet sales manager was to us (mostly in regards to our trade, but pretty much all-around) he made it right. He went above and beyond to keep us as customers and get us into the right car. We got a much nicer salesman, and the manager helped us as well. Even the finance manager was friendly and funny. sales staff at jim white talked us out of a 5 yr lease stating we needed to take a 3 yr lease and then we could extend it by 2 yrs when the lease was up. after 3 yrs, directions credit union said we could not extend the lease and that "jim white tells everyone that", jim white gave us false infomation and after 3 yrs left us with a car that we could not afford to buy. the general mgr at jim white said, sorry we gave you incorrect information but there is nothing we can do. not to mention, 6 months after we bought the car, we had to pay to have a brand new hood repainted because the paint cracked and they would not warranty it.
