Jimbo's has the BEST ROAST BEEF around. The guys who run the place are friendly and spend time to get to know their customers. You can tell that they really take pride in their business. The place is clean and service is fast. Although I have heard that their seafood plates are great , I have yet to pass up a Jr. Beef to try one. In addition to the roast beef, Jimbo's has awesome and consistently fresh Chicken Kabob Salads. I don't know how they do it but their mozzarella sticks are never soggy and their chicken wings are perfect. read more

I've been to Jimbo's a couple times for take out and sit-in. This is a great place for salads, burgers & sandwiches on-the-go. It is not the cleanest, but it's very simple, and drop-in & out kind of place. Most importantly is the quality of the food. You can't really go wrong with a salad and add your own ingredients to a burger or sandwich. The staff is decently friendly (could be better), and the food was prepared quickly. I would recommend this place for locals and quick lunch breaks. read more

I placed an order online at 715..the driver just got here..apparently the woman on the phone said he may have went to another town. He just got here and it's almost 830. Everything was soggy and cold..and I paid an extra 50 cents for tarter sauce which they forgot to put in the bag..my husband said I should have called the order in..but isn't it more accurate to read an order than take it over the phone? What WASNT wrong with this place? Food took a full 30 minutes to reach us and when it finally did it wasn't what I ordered! Also noticed they weren't wearing gloves while preparing the food even after handling cash. Gross! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO check your bag before leaving with a "To Go" order. They have repeatedly thrown foreign and/or otherwise Undertrained people on the phone or in the Kitchen. I ordered a Super Roast Beef (Their bread and butter item) with EXTRA SAUCE. I got a sandwich that didn't even qualify for regular sauce!! It was really dry!! If you can't even train your new person on what regular, extra, and not enough sauce is on your biggest selling item, then it only reflects on very poor management. After a long day at work, we occasionally treat ourselves to a "to go" order as a consolation for a tough day and because we are just so tired to throw dinner together. Getting an order this wrong and wrong in other ways on several other occasions, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you take the time to open your bag and CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE leaving their store. It's not enough to say: "We'll give you a free sandwich next time"! It's too late and not the point! You ruined my dining experience! So far my favorite delivery place in Reading. Quick and accurate delivery. And their subs are really tasty. I got their chicken parm sub this past weekend and it was the best I've had from a delivery place. Chicken was crispy and there was a perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The sauce was delicious too! This is a review for their super beef and service. I ordered about a month ago for take-out, just before closing. One super beef, and one small pizza. Upon arriving to pickup my order, the guy behind the counter was kind enough to say, 'hey, I think we might have overcooked your pizza a little bit- do you want me to throw another one on for you?'. I personally don't mind well-done pizza, but wasn't sure if the wife would've wanted it that way, so I opted for the new pizza- and they gave us the well-done one anyways. The pizza was better than expected (no Capri, but no worse than others in town like Colombo's, Anthony's, or Pizza World). Also, the super beef (three way) was as good as any around these parts. I have been there a three times and I won't be going back. While the food is decent the staff is so RUDE. If they expect repeat business they should get a new cashier. I have never been to a local eatery and feel like I am putting them out and bothering them when I walk in the door. From not being recognized when I walk in the door and then attitude when taking my order it is unbelievable. At this point I have given them a fair chance - hoping the cashier was just having a bad day but the service is pretty consistent....and that is consistently BAD. read more

chicken kabob salad here is below average. the chicken wasn't great, and the feta was dry. besides the chicken and feta, it consists of a few tomatoes, couple slices of cucumber, couple pieces of carrot, fair amount of onions, and one thin slice of green pepper. the lettuce as you'd probably expect, is iceberg. the greek dressing was ok. the cute brazilian girl at the counter was nice, and i like that she brought the food to my table. that brings it up to 3 stars. read more

Ordered some food from this place today and i was not disappointed. I ordered a cheeseburger sub. Service was standard, time was quick, but the food quality is wheres its at. i def loved the burger sub. It was made with two thick burgers, none of that pre-made fake pussy burger shit. Jimbo's is my first stop on the way from the airport to visit my family in Reading where I grew up. This is a fine example of how good a roast beef sandwich can be. Unfortunately, the craft of fine sandwich making did not survive the journey across the Rockies to L.A. where I now live so I have to get my fix whenever I come back to the East Coast. No sandwich meats served out of snack-sized plastic bags here. Eat healthy, exercise, and live right. Then, you will have earned some credits for a real sandwich- the kind they make at Jimbo's! Average shop ordered a large Italian sub with everything hots and oil sub was made shy of meat and had way to much hots on it felt like I was eating buffalo chicken wings ... Hardly ever go out for roast beef sandwiches and like but when I do, Jimbo's is the place. It's close by, reasonably priced, friendly, and most importantly they really pack them sandwiches with meat rather than with cheap fillers. And their fries are awesome, seasoned and crispy. read more

Stopped in today as i was hungry and it was lunchtime. Got the Large beef, mayo cheese, under 8 bucks, meat was piled high, but it was dry and grey. I have lived in Reading for 42 years and for some unknown reason I had only been in Jumbo's a few times. On Tuesday I got a chicken parm sub. It was so good I got another one on Saturday. Besides that, the counter help are very pleasant. This will become a regular stop for me. read more

I order from Jimbos all the time- I would probably starve with out Jimbos. Its very convenient, reasonably priced and they deliver. I'm not a huge salad fan but I love their Greek Salad. Only thing is some times the pizza is not cooked long enough- so when I order I just asked for it well done and it usually comes out great. read more

just stopped in for lunch ordered a steak tip salad 7.95 on menu and the new picture menu board I was charged 10.65 by my calculation about 30% over. the salad was ok it was a $7 to $8 salad not a 10 or $11 cashier couldn't care less and was fumbling through everybodies orders first time disappointed and I eat there a couple times a month. read more
