Jim boys tacos is one of my favorites, but unfortunately, I'm not sure who the chef is or who cooking the food you might wanna go visit the one on Arden or the one on Auburn and Watt. I was disappointed with the ground beef taco it was far too greasy, and the tortilla shell broke in pieces just crumbled in my hand while I was eating, Not sure why, but I was disappointed because I love Jimboys tacos. all-time favorite Bean & Cheese burrito also was disappointed at this location. Otherwise the bean and cheese burrito and the ground beef taco go find these locations on Arden and Watt or elk grove especially the one on Florin Rd in Green Haven, they serve good portion and it taste really good. I have to start with the fact that my food was made perfectly. My chicken taco was delicious. That's the only reason there is more than one star. This location has two entry doors and one of them has nothing posted on it. I went in and ordered my food and noticed after I was charged that there was a credit card fee. There is NOTHING posted at the register about this or I would have paid cash, because I had cash with me. On the door I didn't enter into the restaurant from, there is a tiny paper notice of a 3% credit card charge. This needs to be posted in more places, because I didn't know until AFTER I paid with a card. I also have to say that no one greeted me when I walked in until I had been waiting to order for a few minutes. This doesn't bother me as much as the credit card charge, because it was lunch time and they were busy, but it also took 15 minutes for one taco and fries, and I saw several cars go through the drive through that weren't there when I entered. I just hope they will improve this for other customers in the future. read more

Holy hell. Jimboy where have you been all my life? While traveling home we stopped by beach hut deli for my friends, but I spotted this gem on the corner. I decided to give them a whirly whirl and I am so glad I did. Restaurant was clean, service was quick and friendly. I went with a grilled chicken tahoe burrito with no cream and paired it with a spicy salsa. I took the first bite and wow. I loved it. I love chipotle, the convenience, the health factor and it tastes decent. This blows chipotle out of the water since it hits all of that but also tastes amazing!! This place really went downhill. They're very short staffed.. I asked them to please make my burritos extra crispy and when I got it, It's wasn't crispy at all. Horrible!!! I ordered one ground beef taco at 12:45p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the drive thru. One vehicle was ahead of me. I waited over 12 minutes for the order ahead of me to be filled. Their order was one small bag. My corn tortilla was ice cold from the refrigerator. It was never fried so everything in the taco was as cold as the tortilla & lettuce! This Jimboys closed and thenit was purchased by someone else. It SUCKS now! since. It needs to be closed down again! And the woman working the drive thru was unfriendly. First of all the drive-through is pretty tight if you're in a truck you should be OK if you're in a car. Based off what I got, I think these prices are pretty high. I got a six pack of ground beef tacos, and they're basically just Jack-in-the-Box tacos except maybe not as good. They were extremely greasy, not crispy at all. And at the drive-through, they expect a tip if you're paying with a card. Not really anywhere to just pull over and park and eat either. I heard this was a Sacramento staple and I had to try it. I guess if I was drunk and or hung over and looking for a grease bomb this might suffice but outside of that I won't be coming back. read more

I eat Jimboy's once every couple years. The craving hit me the other day and I was conveniently in the area. No wait in the drive-thru, and I could see a few patrons dining in. I ordered the #1 combo (2 tacos and a drink) AND a bean & cheese burrito (oink oink) totaling $14 and some change. I should have just ordered combo #2 (1 taco and a bean & cheese burrito), instead of being greedy. It ended up that the first taco I ate had a soggy, oily shell and the ground beef looked hella burnt. The 2nd taco was a lot better with a crispier shell. But the best was that bean & cheese burrito! Their refried beans were so tasty and had a nice soft texture, with the right ratio of melted cheese. That burrito was loaded and the flour tortilla was perfectly grilled to give it just enough crispiness to hold together the filling. I guess I'll still have a taco if I get that Jimboy's craving, but I know for sure I'll be ordering a bean & cheese burrito! read more

Look, I'm not ashamed to admit I really wanted to come here. Partly because I see Jimboy's sprinkled throughout Sacramento, but really, it was mostly due to the (glamour) photos on Yelp. Probably weird for me to say, given how this is ultimately a fast food joint, but the fact that this place is a (regional) chain only fueled my curiosity eve more! Plus, who am I to say no to the possibility of some delicious tacos, regardless of where they're from and if they're more of the dirty/fast food variety? Based on the (again...glamour) photos I saw on Yelp, the food here looked better than the likes of Del Taco and, gasp, Taco Bell, so I actually had some hope when we pulled into the drive thru. The menu is centered heavily around tacos, first and foremost, but I thought it was interesting how it also includes plate options with tacos and/or enchiladas, along with their array of burritos, taquitos, quesadillas, salads, bowls, nachos, and sides. Still, we were here for the tacos and the tacos only, which looked like a cross between Jack N The Box's and Taco Bell's - crispy like the former but filled more like the latter. -- GROUND BEEF TACO - Chef-griddled Stone Ground Corn Tortilla, Cheese, Lettuce, Parmesan Dusted...$2.95 It was the most basic of the bunch, but their signature taco was the one that excited me the most! Thankfully, this wasn't too bad - not only was the beef flavorful, but there was a decent amount of it too, which was surprising. -- CARNITAS TACO - Chef-griddled Stone Ground Corn Tortilla, Cheese, Lettuce, Parmesan Dusted...$3.95 Honestly, this felt like carnitas in name only. The pork was slightly dry, but my bigger complaint is that there weren't any identifiable chunks - just random shreds and overcooked bits. Also, this one felt saltier than the rest. -- WILD PACIFIC COD TACO - Chef-griddled Stone Ground Corn Tortilla, Cabbage, Avocado Ranch Sauce, Parmesan Dusted...$5.25 Easily, our favorite taco. The piece of cod was fairly large, crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside. Plus, the drizzle of avocado ranch sauce nicely completed the fish and cabbage as well. Legitimately pretty solid! -- STEAK TACO - Chef-griddled Stone Ground Corn Tortilla, Cheese, Lettuce, Pico, Parmesan Dusted...$4.95 All in all, not bad. The flavors were similar to their original beef taco, but a bit better. The taco as a whole wasn't quite as oily and the beef was far meatier by comparison. -- HOT HONEY CRISPY CHICKEN TACO - Spicy Fried Chicken Tender with Hot Honey, Chef-griddled Stone Ground Corn Tortilla, Pico, Creamy Ranch Dressing, and Parmesan Dusted...$4.95 Their newest (temporary?) offering was...not good. The chicken tender itself was fine, but I don't think the hot honey, pico, and ranch dressing worked well together. In hindsight, we should've just got a second fish taco. Now, I have to say - as uneven as the tacos may have been, they weren't nearly as problematic as our drive thru experience was. Things started off normal enough, and there were just two cars ahead of us, but it took an insanely long time for us to get our order and go. I don't know if the car two ahead of us put in a huge order, if something went awry, and/or if the kitchen here is just ridiculously slow, but it took at least 10 mins just for those folks to get their order. Add in the car in front of us and then our own order and I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out we sat in that line for well over 20 minutes. All in all, while Jimboy's actually isn't a terrible option if you're looking for a fast food fix, it's not hardly "fast" based on our experience. I can see why Jimboy's has its fans, especially those that grew up eating it, but I'd rather head to one of the many taquerias in town instead. read more

Con's- we did not get all of our tacos going through the drive through and I'm talkin 4 tacos out of a 9 pack I bought. If you can't get that right as a company you should not be in business. At the very least, the people in charge of the management of this company need to set up some kind of rudimentary order QC so they're not stealing from customers. I love Jimboy's tacos and stop there every time I am in Sacramento. On 4/5/2025 I stopped at the 29th Street location. I ordered a lot of food and it cost exactly $59. I had a bunch of gift cards so figured I would use them. I swiped a $50 gift card and the lady said it was declined, I thought maybe it did not go through because the total was $59. I then swiped my ATM and it went through, but I checked the website for my gift card balance and it said I paid $50 to Jimboys. I let the lady know and showed her both payments and she gave the phone number and said I had to call the manager on Monday. I have spoke to the manager and he said he would put the money back on the card and that was not happened. I have called several times and was told the general manager would call me and I have not received a call. So to this day, I paid $109. for a few tacos. I wish someone would give me back my money. I know see that you were over on that day or you have a cashier pocketing money. Someone please reach out. I can show you proof. read more

Best hard shell beelf tacos from a fast-ish food place I've ever had: crispy fried corn tortillas, but not too crunchy, dusted with parmesan cheese and filled with ground beef, cheese, and shredded iceberg lettuce. Yum! Hot sauce available, but not necessary. Tacos can also be served with grilled chicken, carnitas, steak, bean, and cod. This is my first Mexican type place since coming from Florida. I will start off with the bad things. I requested and asked for in the instructions and paid for extra sauces plus I requested napkins forks spoons etc. They failed to deliver any of those items... how can you serve a plate of enchiladas with refried beans and rice without a fork or a spoon.. Now the tacos were bigger than you would find at Taco Bell...The taste and flavor of the oil it all needed to be changed a couple of days ago. Plus the burrito I asked for was also fried like a chimichanga which I don't understand... Plus the size of the salsa and sauce that I got at all was not 2 ounce it was 1 ounce at least. And I'm steamed that I paid extra and they didn't give me what I requested Now on the positive side the food was prepared and delivered very quickly and was still very hot after struggling to open up the plastic bag. It was pretty much a typical ground beef enchilada mix but it was not outstanding I doubt if I will go back there again for this. .. Overall it was better than anything in Florida. In Florida nowhere nowhere at any Mexican place except Taco Bell could you find refried beans. read more

I was in the drive through placing my order when another vehicle cut across the parking lot and cut in front of me despite me honking. I told the girl at the speaker that someone cut in front of me, thinking by telling her, she doesn't give them my food. This person proceeds to give her order at the drive-through window and wait for her order to be made while everyone else in line is waiting, when the girl working the register at drive-through "Lillianna" proceeds to let her wait there making everyone else's orders late, after we were awaiting there first. I called to complain and she hung up on me. I can't fathom that working a drive-through would be so hard, but if if it's too much for her to do then she should find an easier job that she can manage because the drive-through window is too hard for her and past her capabilities. I also spoke to the manager, and he didn't seem to think that telling the person who cut everyone in line, to go wait in line like everyone else, was a good idea. Even though to most, that would be the obvious solution. Nevertheless, I will never return to this location, and I will take my business somewhere else just like I did today! I'm a late convert...While I grew up eating Jimboys takeout during chore filled weekends, I was always more of a taqueria girlie. Lately, all of my gatherings have collectively decided, "Jimboys!" for dinner and I am officially a member of the I Love Jimboys Club. Came back tonight; only one vehicle was before me and already waiting for their food before I placed my order. My wait was not very long. Again, just like my last visit, the young lady who took my order was especially friendly and well-mannered. My only complaint is that the tacos seems especially small; a tad bit (just a tiny bit) bigger than a "street taco." I don't remember the tacos being this small. They appear to be using much smaller tortillas (which equate to smaller portions) than I have ever seen. See my photos. I'd rather be charged more for the same size versus being charged the same amount for smaller food portions.
